Able to create a custom meal and indicate number of servings

I would really like to be able to build a recipie and then indicate how many servings it makes and how much I ate and see nutritional break down by servings too.  I think it would way easier than trying to enter all ingredients then when its time to eat the leftovers I can just add the recipie serving.

So this post is almost 2 years old and this much needed function still hasn't been added. I want to track my meals, but have no desire to use multiple apps to do it.

I Also agree and have been asking for something similar for a while now as well please refer to my https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Food-to-be-able-to-Add-a-custom-serving-size-not... tis was my second post I still fail to see why we can add a new food but not a serving size as packaging sizes differ around the world, please to a serious look into this fitbit as we like your product for everything being in the same place and not having to resort to third party apps (that is not why we brought a Fitbit)

Please, a recipe builder is entirely necessary!

You can link apps to the fitbit that actually does track foods and splits meals.

Yes, but some people (me included) don't want to have to deal with multiple
apps.

Yes please make it possible to add recipes and divide by servings! Why is this not an option yet???

And some of us don't even have a smartphone, thus no apps at all! I understand Fitbit has to design their programs to work on phones since that's how most people use it.  But if they start making programs that will ONLY work on mobile devices, I will be really bummed and have to find some other tracker!

For what their trackers cost, the supporting app (AND web based app) should be all inclusive. They already offer so much in their app - not understanding whey adding split meals is such an issue.

Fitbit - if you need an example check out Livestrong's MyPlate.  Only reason I'm not still using MyPlate is because I bought the Alta and want an all inclusive app.  If Livestrong comes out with a tracker, I may need to switch back.

Agreed.  We made a large salad and entered it as a meal.  I took .25 of the salad.  The only option is for me to enter the whole salad.  It would be helpful to have the programmers log their food so they can experience this first hand.

YES that would be great. Myfitnesspal has this feature already! Very annoying that it hasn't been implemented!

Don't hold your breath. I don't believe Fitbit have the slightest interest in implementing this. I am deleting my premium account at the end of my subscription. Going to use Garmin and MFP

This is a vital missing feature. The ability to record only a portion from the total ingredients in a meal. You can do it for a single food item (although not automatically) we now need it for several foods combined as a meal. Please!!

I had a fitbit for my birthday. I've really taken to it but am very disappointed that I can't create my own recipes. I googled it hoping to find a simple answer but all I've found are workarounds using other apps. Its great that you can use the platform with other apps but I'm new to fitbit and want to use one app for everything until I've got the basics down. You can't even just use MFP for homemade recopies because it wont sync with fitbit if you try to use both platforms. Frustrated to see that this has been raised repeatedly over a long period of time without action - it surely would not be difficult to provide this feature. Can a moderator perhaps provide an explanation or advise whether they are actively working on a solution?

Yes!! Please add a meal builder on the app!! I hate having to estimate what it is! I stopped using MFP since there seems to always be syncing issues between FitBit and MFP! It would make food tracking so much easier. It's definitely a pain to have to input every single ingredient for a meal! PLEASE make this happen!!!

I was about to submit this very idea, but I see others thought of it too! It would be great if there were, in conjunction with this, a page on the "community" tab where you could view and follow other people's shared recipes.

I am frankly stunned that this is an issue....major league fail on FifBit designers.

Definitely not alone! I just started using the food logging feature and was super excited to enter my recipe, only to find that I created a single serving meal of over 2000 calories! When in reality, this meal has 8 servings. Needs to have a serving size option for custom recipes. I like MyFitnessPal for their food logging system, but I want to keep everything consolidated on a single app! And since I use FitBit for my workouts, I'd rather keep it here. Glad I'm not the only one with this issue!

This would be such a killer feature for all of us who do meal prep for the week, I'd also add to simply copy the whole meal from yesterday, say you had 150g of chicken, 1cup of rice and 100g steamed veggies, an apple and a protein bar, if you could simply copy the same stuff from yesterday that'd be also great.

I'd like to see a meal or recipe option for adding food to your meal log. Let's say I make lasagna where's there's the noodles, pasta, cheese, and hamburger - I don't want to add each individual item and guess if there's 1/2 of a cup of hamburger/noodles/etc. in my serving. Add all of your ingredients when they're easier to calculate, determine how many servings it makes and then go from the here. Myfitnesspal app has this feature and it helps a lot!

I completely agree, I currently use eatthismuch for meal planning and fitbit for tracking. I have used MFP in the past and I don't like the app. I love that fitbit tracks my macros and calories in and out. I hate the thought of having to use a 3rd app just to make a recipe since ETM does not sync with fitbit.

This would be so helpful I cook probably 80% of my meals, and having an easy way to track them will help me reach my weight goals.

Everybody relax.
Fitbit are not going to do this. They have said so much and done nothing.
Go with my fitness pal. Plus their barcode scanner nails it 95% of the time.

I have been using My Fitness Pal for a few months, and just a new Fitbit to enhance my fitness program.  I cook my own food from fresh ingredients, and assumed that I would be able to log foods, and create recipes with servings like I have been doing.  I am really shocked at the lack of a recipe builder in the Fitbit software, as well as the food database.

I am further shocked, that from reading this post, people have been asking for a recipe builder for over 3 years and nothing has been done?  (Hopefully it is in the works....)

It would be wonderful if I could enter an entire recipe as a meal and then specify what portion of it I ate.  Right now, we get 100% of everything entered.  Why not add a 'How much' so that there is more flexibility with the meals feature?

This is a much needed upgrade to the Fitbit app.  If creating, adding, and portioning out your own recipes was an option it would eliminate the need for multiple apps, which would be nice.  It would allow the Fitbit app to be my go to app for everything fitness and nutrition related.  Please add this feature!

This needs to be available, it's ridiculous that it's not.

Anyone not using this is a glorified pedometer is probably doing weekly portioned meal prep or at least cooking at home...why would you not give them the tool to divide the recipes?
