Able to manually log mindfulness sessions in Mindfulness tile

To be able to manually log mindfullness sessions, just like you can manually log a walk, or other exercises. I like the ‘time’ and ‘reflection’ aspects of it and how it appears in the ‘my journey’ section. If I was able to manually log it, I could listen to other apps, or no apps at all, but still log it in the mindfullness section.

@LizzyFitbit

The community is unanimous. Your comment/resolution posted 6.20.21 does not sufficiently address the community’s concerns, as established in Fitbit’s chosen forum (this thread) since the post.

This appears to all to be an easy add. Perhaps there is a development roadblock somewhere we aren’t seeing, but it really ought to be patched in an update within the next few months.

please, on behalf of the community’s unanimous support of this feature, implement it as requested.

Why is the ability to log your own mindfulness sessions still not an option? The sessions offered in premium are ok but very limited. I personally use Calm, have done for several years, and would like to be able to add a session with the amount of time do it counts towards my Mindful Sessions. Not seeing it there when I know I’ve done it stresses me out! I may just remove the feature if that’s an option or else just work around it by letting one of the short ones play fir logging purposes only.

I would love to be able to track mindfulness out side of the limited sessions provided. I tend to use unplugged or self directed for my sessions.

Seems like the only way to make this change happen is for all of us to leave the same comments until somebody at Fitbit finally listens. Maybe they're trying to force us all to use their own mindfulness sessions or whatever they are, but that's not going to happen, fitbit.

More people are meditating now than ever before, so fitbit, you're way behind the curve on this one - time to catch up!. And there's no way we're going to use your preselected meditations or whatever they are when we already have established practices that work well. So I don't know if Fitbit is trying to save money on the programming, or if they're trying to force us into their own mindfulness sessions, but it's not going to work, fitbit. Please just let us add our own meditations manually, because many of us do really enjoy the Fitbit "ecosystem", and we want all of our data in one place (or as much as possible).

And I think it should go without saying that mindfulness or meditation is not a physical exercise in almost every case lol, so plugging it into an exercise category was just a quick fix that is clearly not where it belongs - especially when you have an entire other section called mindfulness already.

It's already kind of a pet peeve of mine that I pre-ordered the Fitbit charge 5 and got 6 months of premium that started immediately even though I'll be waiting over a month for the actual device (so thanks for the wasted free month of premium (it's way too expensive by the way) - please spend the time and money on your devs, and let me log my meditations MANUALLY where they belong.

Adding another voice for this request-  I cannot log a mindfulness session manually.  Why not?   Instead, i play/mute and ignore the same lame 2 minute fitbit session daily in the background while I do other things.  I am doing sessions on my own with Calm, Brightmind, or Headspace.
I realize Fitbit wants us to use their own program but Deepak is a very poor option and we should not be forced into using your content just to log a 10 minute session.

I agree - I appreciate the heart rate tracker during meditation, but prefer to mediate on my own or with another app. I would love to be able to let the Fitbit app know (via a timer, perhaps) when I commence and end mediation so as to track the activity and my heart rate, but without being required to listen to a Fitbit in-app mediation.  Like others, the mediation tracker was the reason I finally selected premium, but the current configuration does not justify the subscription. Please expand the flexibility of the meditation function!

Hi @RileyZen, thanks for explaining why you'd like to log your meditation sessions separately in the Fitbit app with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Yes - manual logging for mindful sessions, especially since the ones on fitbit are limited.

We should be able to log a mindfulness session manually like we can food or exercise

I meditate on my own but I would like to be able to log meditation sessions into the Fitbit app without having to listen to the Fitbit sessions.

I find it very weird this is currently NOT an option. This schould simply be available.

Really important to be able to log my own mindfulness sessions - as a Christian many of the offered sessions are not something I’m interested in and I have learnt an excellent way to be still and pray in a meditative state that should be recorded.

I have read and agree with all of the above comments. I sincerely request that Fitbit make this change which would be such a benefit to all of us who engage in mindfulness practices outside of the ones provided in the app.

Since I practice mindfulness in silence, the meditation tracker would be a simple feature that would greatly improve my Fitbit experience. I would even pay Premium if it come with heartbeat rate mesure, observation and comments log and other stats.

Hi,

I do Vipassana (mindfulness) and am aiming for 1 hour a day. Currently, 4 hours a week are with online group sittings. It would be nice to be able to use the fitbit app to track these. The iphone app does it and I could switch over, but I would prefer using the fitbit app for everything.
I know this isn’t in the plans, but hope it will be.

The 2 mins relax/guided meditations may work for some, but those with a long standing meditation practice do not need these tools. Logging manually a meditation, just like an exercise or food would be ideal. This is not being tracked for me currently and would be a great addition

I can't believe this still isn't available yet. This is a major oversight. Are there any updates from fitbit on if it's coming?

Stop sending me this, I have received this same email like 4 times now. I
give up, I won't post suggestions anymore, just please stop.

To my knowledge, this isn't available yet. I do get notices periodically
from Fitbit saying that folks are interested in it, though. Maybe someday
:).
