Able to manually log mindfulness sessions in Mindfulness tile

To be able to manually log mindfullness sessions, just like you can manually log a walk, or other exercises. I like the ‘time’ and ‘reflection’ aspects of it and how it appears in the ‘my journey’ section. If I was able to manually log it, I could listen to other apps, or no apps at all, but still log it in the mindfullness section.

@LizzyFitbit  can you please actually answer our questions rather than just move suggestions all here? This is getting really frustrating! @LizzyFitbit  can you please flag this with someone who can advise us where this is at in terms of an actual development change? Cheers

I agree with Skyek2000 - please answer the question. This thread has been going on for a year!

Hi! For those interested, I moved over to the iphone health app that lets you log mindfulness. A third party app syncs the fitbit app with my iphone, but it’s manual. I remember that when I had a Polar and a Garmin tracker, they synced automatically. Don’t know if that’s changed, though. FYI Fitbit, you are losing customers bc of this.

If you own a Sense, I just found an app that records your session much like the exercise app.  I’ve tried it and it works well. I had no idea this was available.  I’m not sure if it’s available for any other model.

There is a watch app in the gallery called Mindful that can be installed on either the Sense or Versa 3. This app allows you to begin and end a mindfulness session for your desired time interval.

You can listen to or practice whatever you like during the 'meditation exercise'. It will display your heart rate data in the Mindfulness > Your Journey section of the mobile app. You can 'Log Reflection' in the Your Journey section as well.

The watch app works together with the Fitbit mobile app so they must both be open for the data to be sent to Fitbit servers. I know this isn't exactly manually logging but it is free-form and allows for any mindful practice to be done in tandem and the biometric data will be saved to your Fitbit account.

Thank's @BiagioFitbit but UnfortunatelyI own a Charge5.

I'm practicing mindfulness meditation in silence since 6 years and it wouldn't  make any sens fo me to listen an audio guide just to be able to log my meditation. A workaround would be to start a guided meditation and shut the volume down... but I usualy use my phone as a meditation timer and couldn't run those two app at the same time.

It's a shame, because it would be so easy to just add it in the activity menu as an exercice (and add a timer with it).

I would like to be able to do a meditation outside of the Fitbit app and add to the mindfulness tile manually in order to keep all my mindfulness data together.

Hi @KTE0000, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to manually log mindful sessions in Mindfulness tile. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Thank you again for your participation in the Feature Suggestions Forums.

I'm really hoping that the Manual Meditation/Mindfulness tracking is added soon. I keep checking here every few months after one year of Premium. Please bump up the priority?

Seriously. Since they can do this with water & exercise.. why not
Meditation??? It’s like they don’t care about what we want. --

Thank's @BiagioFitbit .. that is a small step by a external developer. Unfortunately I own an Inspire2.  With this issue going on since 2017 and hundreds of users asking for this functionality specifically, it seems strange that Fitbit has not included it yet. I took a specific meditation course that does NOT rely on external cues, and I use that daily 2x for the last year. I would give up half of the functionality of my Premium subscription for this one tracking capability, it's that important. Fitbit: please look up 'oxidative stress' in the PubMed literature. That will help you understand.

To be honest, this is such a big deal for me that I will not buy premium again until this feature is added, or I might look at other options than Fitbit.

I made this same suggestion. Please make this happen.

My Versa auto tracks workouts all the time. It’s inaccurate 50% of the time in terms of what type of workout I’m doing, but it can tell I’m working out.  Seems like it could also tell if I’m in a meditative state.  Regardless, Fitbit should interact with more mindfulness apps.

This request was submitted over a year ago. Can we please get this feature added? Why can I manually add my water but I can’t manually add time I used for meditation and other apps? Please make this happen!

I also use Insight Timer to meditate. It offers more meditation choices, courses, and live sessions. I would like to be able to "add on" these meditation sessions under the Mindfulness section (similar to the option provided as a feature under Exercise. You tap the plus button, to add on your own additional workouts).

Hi @ChicoRK, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to log your own meditation sessions in the Mindfulness tile with us. Because this idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. You might also be interested in this other suggestion. Please click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

Would really appreciate an ability to log a mindfulness/mediation session I do by myself, just like I log a walk/run/yoga session.

This is disappointing that so many people have been asking for the ability to manually track meditations sessions for over a year now. There are multiple research studies that validate the health and wellness benefits of meditation. I am very  happy so far with Fitbit but this is a huge omission which I hope will be addressed soon.

Yes, please would love to be able to add my mindfulness and meditation times manually. I often don’t even use an app to do my practice so it makes it hard to quantify if I can only track using the sessions from Fitbit.

I agree - have a way to manually log meditation outside of Premium mode.

This would be a great add for premium subscribers. While I do use the guided meditations throughout the day when I need a quick re-centering, as we advance, guided meditations are no longer necessary and can become distracting from going further in longer practices.

Please add this feature. This will be more "sticky" than the guided meditations for us meditators.

Agreed. My preference is to do unguided meditation, and I would like to be able to log those sessions.
