Able to manually log mindfulness sessions in Mindfulness tile

To be able to manually log mindfullness sessions, just like you can manually log a walk, or other exercises. I like the ‘time’ and ‘reflection’ aspects of it and how it appears in the ‘my journey’ section. If I was able to manually log it, I could listen to other apps, or no apps at all, but still log it in the mindfullness section.

I can’t believe that this thread was started over a year ago and this issue has not been addressed by FitBit. Really?  This is an EASY fix in the app.  To restrict your members to a mindfulness existence based on your limited media is not a representation of good health practice. Please fix this asap.

It's there a way to log our meditation into the mindfulness category instead of the exercise category? I'm glad they have finally added this feature (thank you) but meditation is not an exercise and I don't have a need for the pre-recorded mindfulness exercises that seem to be the only way I can log that I've done some mindfulness time each day.

Since this is a health app it would be really helpful to get encouraged to do mindfulness each day without having to listen to a prerecorded 3-minute  session. Thank you!

hurry up!

mindfulness tracking is not working so we definitely need some manual override.

Just wanted to add my case.

It’s great that FitBit has a mindfulness section, which has more in it that it used to. However, I’ve already been using a different app (Calm) for years for Mindfulness and would like to be able to log a Mindfulness session from that. Automatic sync would be nice but manually logging would be higher priority. This is because people use all kinds of apps, or don’t use apps for this at all!

Not having an option to manually log a session, or even play a session where you can determine the length yourself with minimal guidance is a bit out of touch with the practice of mindfulness. Of course it’s wonderful to have guided sessions, and I use these regularly, but if I want to just take a mindful moment then I may just want to sit for an indeterminate number of minutes. This is the very essence of mindfulness so we should have an option to track it.

Re: being able to manually log our own mindfulness sessions.. .  I had posted about this over a year ago and it still hasn’t happened.  I just discontinued premium membership for this reason.  Perhaps if we all did that they would step up offering this service.

Please add the option to add my own mindfulness, not just that which is done through the app or premium service.

Hi @BrenSyd, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about having the option to add your own mindfulness. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Agree wholeheartedly that we need the ability to manually log meditation or mindfulness. I get that Fitbit wants you to do their own mindfulness sessions and it may be really difficult to integrate with Calm or Headspace—- but logging the minutes seems like a no brainer. Esp. since developers do seem aware of the physical effects of mindfulness (eg heart rate) that can be tracked with the Fitbit device…

One should be give the freedom to log mindfulness session done on one's own outside of the sessions through premium.

I would also love the feature to manually record meditation just like we can manually add exercise that is not auto-recognized.

I have a great mindfulness habit and it doesn't involve headphones 🙂

Manual entry would be highly useful!

Probably a plus option within the meditation section of the Fitbit app so that I can log minutes on my meditations that I use outside the Fitbit app

Hi, I really need this feature, the ability to manually add mindfulness minutes.  I do my own meditation practice, and don’t listen to other apps.  Although I do use meditation timer.  It would be nice to just be able to enter it, or have it sync with meditation timer.  That one already syncs with apple health.  But manually would be better, because sometimes I do a walking meditation, or mindful eating, etc.  there are tons of mindfulness practices that don’t rely on apps.  It was part of the reason I cancelled my premium subscription.

I agree.  I would appreciate being able to manually add meditation minutes.  I track all my health stats on Fitbit,  but meditation I keep on paper in my calendar.  I meditate quietly and don’t use any verbal coaching.  I have tried many of the premium meditations on Fitbit,  but still prefer quiet meditation.

thank you

Add a feature allowing people to manually add their mindfulness or meditation practice to their daily log of activities.

It’s 2022 and we’re still not able to do this? Seems like it got a lot of support too! I’m all for it (:

Yes, it has a lot of support but no action from Fitbit. I pay for a Calm subscription separately so don’t want to have to pay Fitbit for it.
Also, I use other apps and sometimes no app to do mindfulness sessions.
This could be a big win!!!!!
Wish they would do it.

I had a "duh" moment this morning. I generally meditate silently and don't want accompaniment. it occurred to me that I could just start the meditation and then mute the sound or take my earbuds out. It's *one* way to log meditation without the noise—not the intended use, but it works.

Idk how I haven’t thought of that LOL but it still blows my mind that Fitbit has been reading these suggestions for like 2 years now and till hasn’t made the change 😞

That would work as a work around. Just find a Fitbit session of the same duration if you’d like it to track all of the time accurately.

C’mon Fitbit, make this simple and sought after change please. You may like to naturally encourage users to utilize Fitbit mindfulness but, like exercise, users often have pretty clear individual preferences for mindfulness activities. It would be extremely user friendly to allow manually entering minutes.
