Able to manually log mindfulness sessions in Mindfulness tile

To be able to manually log mindfullness sessions, just like you can manually log a walk, or other exercises. I like the ‘time’ and ‘reflection’ aspects of it and how it appears in the ‘my journey’ section. If I was able to manually log it, I could listen to other apps, or no apps at all, but still log it in the mindfullness section.

I agree with this. Please add the ability to manually start unguided meditation sessions. If there were a timer that could be set as well, even better. In this way one could check how meditation is affecting various stats, heart rate for example.

I love to be able to log my own meditations too. I don’t understand why you can manually log a meditation in the fitness activities section but not in the mindfulness section. Sometimes I want to do my own personal, quiet meditation. I see lots of people have asked for this so fingers crossed.

Hi all, People have been asking for multiple years for a very simple feature integration for tracking mindfulness. All we want to do is to be able to track our own mindfulness sessions within the mindfulness section in the app. A simple way to just ADD that we practiced mindfulness that day and add the number of minutes is enough.

@LizzyFitbit I understand that this has already been requested and that's why I made my post. You can see you moved my post into a post that was made years ago. Moving these posts to old posts isn't going to get this feature implemented because clearly no one is putting in the time to implement this basic feature that people have been asking for since its inception. When is it going to be implemented?

Hello,

Please add the ability to manually log mindfulness sessions the same as you can exercise. It would be very beneficial to have this data included on the Fitbit app and incorporated into your overall fitness. Several in the community have requested this feature be added.

Thanks, John

Yes, please make this happen.

Just a comment to Fitbit - how can you have SO MANY COMMENTS on the same topic and you still don't do anything about it?

I would also love this feature - can't believe it was suggested as long ago as 2020 and it still isn't implemented. Would be great to have this feature - I meditate with Calm, but use the actual app rather than the linked ones via Fitbit. It seems a shame that there is a partner app that Fitbit openly works with, and we cannot tie the two in. Please add this feature?

Logging meditations would be a great feature - I teach meditation, and without this, my participants meditations apparently "don't count"! 🙂

Two years and still no update on this feature?

Seems like a pretty easy add. I personally have a really hard time being mindful with someone talking in my ear, but love being able to collect data and analyze it.

Please add this feature!

I appreciate that manual meditation logging was added, but am disappointed that it contributes to my exercise tracking. I'd like to track my meditation separately in the meditation tile.

For all people on this thread, I've just realised that you can track meditating via the 'exercise' tab, which a) is baffling given the mindfulness section and b) seems counter intuitive given its the opposite of exercise. But hey, live and learn - one way to track it via the app manually at least!

Appreciate the feedback. It would be more productive to simply make this simple upgrade that has been requested by many paying subscribers vs moving the request around only to get lost in the shuffle.

@LJay2022 I think most people on this thread are aware of that, but it’s that it’s not very useful. If I log meditation as exercise, it skews my exercise stats. I don’t want to be congratulated for exercising 7 days, when all I did was sit in meditation. Or duration of exercise, I like to see how much time I’ve spent exercising, and adding an hour or more per day to that from meditation is not useful. There are so many reasons logging meditation as exercise is not useful, so even though I know I can, I refuse to use that option because it doesn’t help. I wish fitbit would just listen to the years of feedback and offer the ability to log meditation manually in the mindfulness tile.

@Natasha81 totally agree - implementing the ability to log meditation manually in the mindfulness section would be the most sensible and 100% my preference. I am just surprised that it's an option in exercise but not in mindfulness, and wouldn't even have thought to look there. Hopefully Fitbit take this thread on board soon, as it would be a really useful feature for lots of us ☺️

I agree meditation should be tracked separately under the meditation tile with the ability to log manually. It’s not useful to log as exercise and skews you data.

@LizzyFitbitis there an update on this feature?

Recently coming back to fitbit and seeing preprogrammed mediation is great for people new to the practice, but being able to just be without a voice in the ear and for much longer than the 4-8 minute sessions would be lovely.

Having a bi-neural Soundwave generator as apart of the custom mindfulness would be awesome too.

I totally agree. I'd like to be able to log everything in the same place, including my meditation sessions instead of having a separate log. Please add this! I don't think you have to "label" the type of mindfulness activity, just the day and time or times.

Thanks!

I would also like to manually log my meditations into the mindful app. I practice TM and do not use any apps when I meditation. Thank you!

Can the app have a basic meditation timer that syncs with mindfulness category.
