Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

Fitbit App updates replacing original charts with the new template are deleting useful information from the app. Latest change to heart rate removes the ability to look at resting heart rate for more than a month at a time. That information is critical for anyone using Fitbit to control an irregular heart rate. Same for weight, sleep, etc....

A long time customer, user and enthusiast. I was prompted to update my app and I was disappointed. The new interface is elegant, but not user-friendly, practical or for that matter… better than the previous interface. It seems like this update was designed for design sake, not usability. Why not give us the option to use the previous interface??

Agreed - they’ve now moved the hr values to the right of the screen and removed all but the top and bottom numbers so all you see is a wiggly line which tells you bugger all. I have trouble with my heart which is stress related and being able to see data is helpful for me to manage it. This is…. I mean honestly what is this? As a graphic designer myself it’s not even pretty it’s just straight up bad UX

Agreed. I have been relying on data. I can no longer access due to them wanting to make this look pretty. Additionally, as I’m over 60 and have health issues, I cannot read the new graphics. I wish that they would try to make the app useful instead of trying to make it pretty and scale it down. They seem to have no comprehension that we actually use this data and are not eager to stop being able to get it. Would love to see a discussion on other devices that might restore my ability to follow my heart rate, sleep patterns, Etc. In other words, I’d love to find something that does what Fitbit used to do. If it’s a product, I will hesitate to buy due to the continued Downgrade of this item I’ve been using for years. Do they have anyone experienced in data or medicine or exercise physiology on their team? I think not.

I very much agree. I logged in today to compare the details of my data across several months—as I often do—and was shocked to see only an unhelpful mean/average figure for each month. We seem to have totally lost the ability to view detailed data across a longer timeframe than one month, and this is a huge loss. I used this information for health purposes, and losing access to years of information is disappointing. I will consider looking for a new device that permits users to retain the ability to view their data in more helpful ways. I’m not here to get an averaged-out number for each calendar month.

This is exactly my experience. I track heart rate for health reasons and now will need to swap to a device that actually allows me to see this data

It’s pretty clear that designers did not reach out to users. I guess I’ll be searching for a new device/app. Anybody have any ideas?

It is even worse than originally thought.  On Sunday the 1st of the month (Dec 1, 2024) the weekly chart shows one data point and the monthly chart shows one data point - no comparison with prior data!!  Design seems turned over to AI with no clue to the value of the data.

Apple health conversion through Synchfit at least let’s you scroll through a weekly and monthly window with the same axis.

I 100% agree with you all!  I can't even record activities on the app!  They limit your choices.  It also doesn't allow you to analyze you sleep pattern well.  Just suck all around.  BRING BACK TO DASHBOARD!!!   I'm to the point of getting rid of mine and finding another tracker.

Yet again the updates have trashed the tracking???  I do a 3 mile walk and am very familiar with all the routes in my neighborhood that get me there.  I walked up and back basically what was about a quarter of a mile and not only did it tell me I had walked 1.05  in 8.5 mins which is way under my average 12 to 16 minutes depending on the inclines I choose, it recorded the route as a diagonal across the middle of the block I walked around.  This is trash I put up with the last time they did a major update.  WHY CAN'T WE HAVE NICE THINGS ANYMORE?  Oi.  And whatever genius decided that we only need mile prompts and not half mile prompts while we are walking, just know how very dumb%$#^  you are.

The most recent major update that resulted in an all white pseudo minimalist look does not provide relevant/useful info like old version, the visuals make it harder to find, read & interpret the data, new arrangement forces you to seek imp info. The new version simply violates too many usability heuristics rendering this unusable.

New layout has ruined the ability to see data easily, it also removed values and replaced with shading. Please undo this update. How can I change the layout on the app for ease of reading!

The new app sucks. Been a Fitbit for a decade and dumping it for Apple. Why mess with a great app that was easy to use and presented data in a logical way. Having to go two levels down to get my metrics is better???

The new ux design is terrible. I'm using a pixel 6a

Couldn't agree more! Where are the trend graphs? What was most useful about these metrics were those graphs, which have disappeared. (As of today, running version 4.39.2 on a current model Pixel phone; the trend graphs disappeared with this UX update in the prior release.)

It's terrible. Anyone who requires a larger font cannot use this section unless they rotate the phone to landscape.

I would consider this a bug in the update, since they've decreased functionality for folks with accessibility needs.

I have never seen an "improvement" that was so idiotic! This screen was the ONLY source of all major metrics presented together over a period of time, like a week, a month, or 90 days. Now it's gone, replaced by a single day only, displayed in ridiculously huge font (results in excessive and unnecessary line breaks).

Moreover, I can find NO other way to track Heart Rate Variability over time (one can only see a single day).

As for other things, like Heart Rate, one has to endlessly switch between tiles and track each parameter individually...

Please, remove this "chainsaw innovator" from the team and restore the previous functionality, which was a thousand times better!

I agree. I only ever looked at the 90 day graph so I could track progress over time. Please please bring back the graphs!

Yes this change really sucks (sorry). The big benefit of the health metrics is to get a good overview over all paramters and to be able to track and visualize changes over time. Using day/week/moth deviders makes all that more difficult. So to do the same thing as before I would now have to make at least 1 click to move into a paramameter. Then additional 2-3 clicks to view data trends over time. Then a final click to go back. So per parameter 4-5 clicks. Times 5 paramters. That is 25 clicks. To get the same infromation that before this change took 2 clicks. I am sorry but that is not improving UX.
For me personally this will result in me stop using this feature. I cannot not see why I would continue paying for a premium subscription.

100% agree.  It's hard to imagine that someone could have looked at this view by before rolling it out and thought it was an "improvement"

Laintl

Please return the health metrics trends tab to its original form as quickly as possible.   It is the most useful data for health improvement over time in this program.    Today's update to the health metrics is not an improvement but a detraction.   If fitbit continues to make updates to the programing for the sake of saying they did something rather than for the improvement of the user interface it will lose many long term customers.

Yes, it's extremely frustrating to have to click through days of data instead of quickly scrolling. I really don't understand what the team is doing here. Does anyone on the team actually use the app? Why would they keep putting engineering time and effort into rolling out a change which, far as I can tell, is near-universally panned? I can understand not wanting to bother maintaining the system due to cost, but money is being spent to do this!

Week, Month, Year is not a good base for statistics on physical measurement.
7 day, 30 day, 90 days and 365 days is a good base.
Who in the fitbit teams comes up with such nonsense metrics?
Please revise asap!
