Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

Everything about the new app is terrible. Please change it back.

I'll wear my Sense 2 until it dies... after that google's failure to pay attention to its fitbit customers means I'll find another brand of watch... maybe even consider getting rid of android altogether and moving over to apple... or who knows Garmin?

Not only the reviews- polite comments here are being deleted. I’ve had 4 zapped so far and have been extremely courteous in the circumstances. This will disappear also, but guess what, so will I after years of using your product? Happy now?

Never said I was looking at Garmin ..... I hope the Fitbit management will
pull their heads out of their collective asses and put the platform for
their app back to where it was for the new one sucks.
You are correct, as I speak from experience- we can only hope that the moderators are so overwhelmed that we have a voice for a while. That is in no sense suggesting that someone should be stressed by just doing their job by the way. I suggest that they look for another one though, as Fitbit is finished because of this. Best wishes.

At first look, I thought it's just ugly, sometimes hard to see even.

Then I saw there are some minor things that have gone or can't be adapted anymore.

Now I realized it's missing one of my favourite things - the number on the map showing each kilometer you've run so you know where you reached it - and you can't adapt the name of the activity anymore, which is an absolute must! My watch only has a limited variety to pick from, now I have to remember things like, okay, from now on Pilates means Dancing. This is so awful.

Also don't quite trust the numbers anymore, and it's sooo slow to show anything. Still can't find a single improvement. Only disappointments. 😕

I don't trust the numbers either. I am a hard core walker and the past few
days isn't registering what I know I've walked.

The numbers are bogus. I keep getting a "MobileTrack not tracking steps" notification. When I click on it, it says my Battery settings are incorrect. So, click Battery Settings>Battery>Open >click (already selected) Unrestricted and close. Pesto, the numbers on Fitbit and app match. But, that is only a momentary update. No matter the number of times this is repeated, the message does not go away and Synch only happens with the above steps.

Just wondering....do the Fitbit developers actually read our comments and ever use them to improve the app?

No color on the home page? Boring. Cannot select activity? Cannot find battery status? Cannot move tiles around to match my priorities? Who redesigned the app and why is it so terrible? Doesn't Google do focus groups? Why did they change a home page that was just fine? Amazing that  billion dollar company could do such a terrible redesign without any regard for users.

FYI I can’t even get to any battery reading on my Fitbit.

I did a chat session yesterday and was told to post my comments in this forum because this is where they look.

Well they say they cannot go back... then I'm moving on... sad, but they
leave me no choice...

I was told the same thing at my chat. I am hoping the user comments really do make a difference to bring back the clean, quality user-friendly app we are all appreciate.

Have you seen the map display in the new app? It has no location information: no street names, no suburb/city information. I have tried to start a separate discussion this three times, but I have had no luck.  I get the message that it will be reviewed by the moderators and it gets no further. Would someone else please try to open a separate discussion on the map display? Thank you

Here a map display from this new version of FitBit and it definitely
demonstrates the street names. This version has it’s Pros/Cons. Since I
only use the tracker for my stats, i.e. Distance, Steps, Cardio Fitness, it
does automatically pick the exercise I do, walk, run, elliptical, bike.

Color is gone, my Step Streak notifications are gone, though I do continue.
This version keeps my YTD Steps & Miles.

Thanks for sharing that you get location information. Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing on my phone.

Lizzy… why not respond to some of the Fitbit community who are expressing concern about the new app. More information would be helpful. What are your plans?

The Fitbit app has changed and just records my runs in minutes, not minutes and seconds. This is unacceptable. I will no longer be able to use the sense watch unless this is fixed.

Fitbit app should show on ONE SCREEN: calories, steps, distance, floor, heart rate, exercise days, zone minutes, sleep, mindfulness, health metrics, hourly activity. NOT just one page - ONE SCREEN. 11 circles will easily fit on one screen.

I agree the new app is horrible.  Also they took off the battery indicator and now I can't keep track of usage for charging .  The usage on the Charge 5 is so small and unable to be read.  Either put it back on the app or redo the fitbit so that it can be read and followed.

The app calculates my cals burned during weight training differently now. Why?
Previous app - 2.1 cals per minute.
New app - 3.4 cals per minute.

And why doesn't it factor in heart rate instead of applying a default # of cals p/m? There's no way that I burn the same cals doing bicep curls vs squats.

Also, you've ruined the app, it's TERRIBLE

I am glad the new version contains an improvement I suggested years ago of
YTD Steps. Prior versions only had Daily & Monthly.

All the above comments are so right about the new app update being a bad product. The look and feel appearance is terrible, dull, and depressing. The previous version had a much better appearance. HINT: Try going back to the old app and just update the function while keeping the old appearance and colors. Keep the battery percentage status where it was. It is human nature that people can adjust easier to small incremental changes than they can adjust to a massive redo.

I want to be able to see my daily step streak! I work hard to maintain it, and I don’t want to look back through the weeks and count it when it used to be on the top of the app page every morning when I woke up. I want to see my battery life on the app screen. Generally speaking, the app screen went from customizable to not user-friendly overnight.
