@LizzyFitbit @Ok thanks, I couldn’t find it using the search function!
along with the reasons cited by other users I really miss this feature when I have to take my Fitbit off (for example during some activities at work). The sensor keeps searching and often makes inaccurate measurements. This negatively impacts battery life and accuracy of health stats.
I had to stop wearing my Fitbit Sense because of the compulsion to check heart rate, which lead to further anxiety. Since I stopped wearing it, I’ve been doing much better with anxiety. I’d like to be able to wear the watch and only track heart rate during workouts.

I have a fitbit sense and I also don't track my Heart rate always. Instead, I'd prefer prolonging the battery life. and thats super annoying sometimes.
Really frustrating this is no longer an option. I travel a lot and take off my watch for that, but the sensor still thinks there’s a heart rate while in a bag. I also turn it off while drinking, or when sick, because your heart rate elevated. With this removed, and the button issues, I don’t know why I upgraded to the Versa 3, I honestly might return it. This was a bad feature removal.
The ability to manually turn it on/off seems like it should be a standard/basic feature - not sure why this wouldn’t be. Please make this feature available in the app for your customers.
Without this feature enabled soon (ability to turn off heart rate sensor) , I am going to cancel Premium and switch to either Garmin, Apple or Android wear. I've been a Fitbit users since Charge 2, this is ridiculous. My battery dies so much quicker, I only wear it on my wrist while sleeping for sleep tracking, I carry it in my pocket for steps all other times. It kills my battery,
I personally know your company has lost at least 10-12 of my personal friends to IOS and Garmin over dumb stuff like this. I legitimately only have 6 Fitbit friends left and used to have dozens. Not giving users options for BASIC functionality is insane.
Please, I need that option too, I have Versa 3 and it is better as suggested by doctor, to avoid this, because of some healthy problem.
The best way is to be possible to turn on and off, and in case ON, the possibility to check HR each seconds, each 30mins, etc... with many possibilities. PLEASE! Thanks 🙂
