Have just found that Android 7 smartwatches such as the LEMFO LEM8 range, are compatible with Audible! They run the app just like your 'phone. Great news. Fitness stuff is not as well covered as fitbit, but I'm thinking the trade-off may be worth switching. Cheaper too! Certainly won't be buying the current fitbit offerings now.
I hear you. I still plan to wait until the end of Summer before I move on. Would suggest that you give them until then too. Your choice. I just want to be able to use what I have the way I want 😊
Yes. I think you're right. I will wait till the end of the summer, but good to know that there is something out there that I can turn to if they don't come up with anything. A won't go to Apple as I hate their ethos, but Android are brilliant.
Truly kindred spirit. I can't do apple and anything other than Apple is what got me into Fitbit in the first place, so yes I am looking for an alternative if this summer and doesn't bring satisfaction. Think promises to be an interesting summer.
Yes, yes yes! I am voting to have the Audible app on the Fitbit Versa as well! Was just looking for it! Ive had mine about a year now and I think it's the one thing I would love to have!
By now I hope that the powers that be at Fitbit are taking notice of the numerous inquiries as to their intent to provide a audible Fitbit app. The clock is ticking. Today is 1March!😉
I was juuuuust about to buy a Versa and realized that they don't have Audible. Really on the fence now. I work with horses almost daily and a big attraction was not having to lug a phone around to listen to my books while doing the cleanup and barn work that comes along with that. I don't see any feedback from Fitbit that makes it appear to be truly under consideration much less in the near term. Does anyone have other information? Thank you.
I gave in and bought a cheap £130 Android watch with a SIM card. It will take any app on Android Play Store, just like your 'phone. Brilliant. No big 'phone to lug around. Just a Bluetooth ear bud.
Beware of Androidwear though. They don't have the full Android operating system and can only run a very limited variety of apps which doesn't include Audible.
I'm still wearing my Fitbit Alta HR at the moment, though the new watch has it all, including HR. Just haven't bothered. If Fitbit do ever get round to doing a version that has it all, I'll be straight there but I have a feeling I may die if old age before they get around to it.
As much as I hate to admit it, it is doubtful that our request for a compatible app for audible will be soon forthcoming. I hate to think that I will "Someday" have to buy the next generation Fitbit watch just to get the audible app, if and when it becomes available. May be time to show our discontent another way!
I’m not optimistic. My husband gave me the newest Versa for Christmas. What do you want to bet there will be a newer, more improved one in the future that will be able to handle Audible? Money, money, money. This is my third Fitbit and very well may be the last. 😕
I don't have info about an Audible app for Versa but I came across this website for converting Audible files so you can download them onto a Versa-- https://www.drmare.com/drm-audiobooks/play-audible-audiobooks-on-fitbit.html I have not tried this but it sounds feasible I think. Just thought I'd share...
I've tried converting audible books for the ionic/versa. It treats the files like music tracks so you can never pick up where you left of. Have to wade through the entire chapter to get to where you were - EVERY TIME YOU STOP. Useless.
Buyer beware ! I would not trust a product not made by Fitbit to support a Fitbit product. You run the risk of damaging your product. Just something to think about! Will give it a look too😀
