I bought a Charge 3 to try it out and I told myself I would use it for a year before buying a new one.  Now Apple came out with the news that an Audible app is available with the apple watch.   I am staunchly anti-apple.  I cannot stand their products however, if Fitbit cannot get one designed then I am going to buy a apple watch.  The ability to have my books at my fingertips while I workout is irresistible.  I might not make it a full year.

I'm with you on Applephobia. But got desperate and looked at the Apple
watch. Found you have to have an apple 'phone to download to it!! Not
prepared to go that far, I bought a plain and simple Android watch. NOT to
be be confused with AndroidWear or any of the other cut down versions of
Android. It runs a fully operational, up to date version of the Android
operating system system just like the your 'phone. Download any app you
want from Playstore including the Audible app. It's bluetooth, will take
it's own SIM card if required, has a heart rate monitor and is WAY cheaper
than anything else I've seen. Even if you just use it for Audible, it's
worth the £130 price tag. Only downside is battery life. Its not great, but
I've had it running Audible to my bluetooth earbud non stop for 14 hours.
(A really good book. 😁) I think that's way better than giving Apple my
money.

I am happy to hear that so many people are voicing their concerns with
Fitbit's sluggish response to our concerns. Sometimes the only way to make
your point is thru focused financial pressure. Like you, I am not an Apple
fan. However as I was taught at an early age, In business you either
evolve or go extinct. Hopefully someone at top of Fitbit's food chain is
reading our comments! I have started looking for an alternative (other
than Apple) I plan to give my Fitbit until the end of summer, at which
time I plan to move on and take all my friends with me ! We shall see.

Other than posting in this community, is there any way to communicate
directly with Fitbit to voice our displeasure with this?

That is a great question!!!!

Just tested the Fitbit "Hepl/Chat" line. As suppected; No one home but
worker-bees Download a Transcript
Norma:Hi Herman, My name is Norma. How can
I help you?
Me:Hello Norma
Me: I have a lot of people asking me what is the best way to talk to
someone in authority at Fitbit
Norma:Thanks for taking the time to contact us, l'll be glad to assist you
with your inquiry.
Me:At issue is the lack of an audible all for your Ionic
Norma:In this case, you can provide all the information through this chat
and we can definitely pass along to our team. l'm very interested on
helping you and if you are encountering with any issue with the Fitbit
Ionic we can troubleshoot the issue.
Me:We are not sure how often the fitbit community message board is
reviewed, but we have concerns
Me:Apple has an app that will allow its users the ability to use an audible
app..a.k.a. listen to books durning workouts. Fitbit does not. We love the
product but not it's limits
Norma:Thank you for the input, Herman. We don't have that specific
information how often our team review all the suggestions and feedback
about our products feature but they always read all the the input we
receive from our customers and we very much appreciate it.
Norma:At this time, we only have the option to set voice cues on the Fitbit
app while starting an activity using Mobile Run. We are always working hard
and improve our products, l appreciate the ideas and we will definitely
pass it along to our team.
Me:As I stated, If Fitbit is aware of our concerns, we would feel like
someone cared if a statement was issued saying that the situation was being
looked into!
Me:Many of us (and there are a lot of us) are starting to look for
alternatives to the Fitbit!
Norma:I understand and appreciate the feedback about the product. Rest
assured that no feedback shall be left unheard as we're constantly striving
to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of
the input we receive from our customers.
Me:We do hope that you will share this transcrip with the proper
authorities. We start out moves this Fall!

I also had a 'chat' on this subject.... they referred me to the community
board....where I did post my concerns. I really don't like Apple
products. Does anyone know if there are any fitness watches - other than
Apple - that are capable of playing Amazon music and audible files?

I've at least gotten original responses when I tweet them directly. That's an idea to increase the visibility of the request. The support department has it's own handle; @FitbitSupport The overall Fitbit handle is @Fitbit.

Thanks.... good idea. Maybe if we flood them with tweets they will pay
attention!

Envision if you will; one person sitting at a computer answering multiple
sites and pacifying the masses with positive responses. A
worker-beeworke!Saves money and callers/chatters are pacified. I hope that
they will take US serious.
See may other post on here. There are Androids alternatives. NOT
Androidwear.

On the recommendation of someone posting in this thread, I sent a tweet to
Fitbit support yesterday - see below. I did not receive any response from
my second tweet.....but I did receive a request for 'feedback' on the
support I received...which I submitted. I'm planning on sending a direct
message through Twitter to Fitbit support today. If anyone reading this
is so inclined, I'd recommend flooding Fitbit support directly with this
issue as I do not think that our posts in the community threads are getting
any level of attention by anyone at Fitbit who can make a difference.

@FitbitSupport - When in the world are
you going to release apps that allow users to play Amazon music and Audible
audiobooks??? Many many current Fitbit users are asking for this... and
some of us are considering moving to a different company if these are not
soon released.

*FITBIT*
Hi! We're here to help. We currently don't have a specific time frame for
this. We are continuing to explore other music streaming options to further
meet the needs of our users, but do not have any details to share at this
time. Stay tuned and let us know if you have questions.

*ME*
Not sure what you mean by 'other music streaming options'. If you check
the Fitbit 'Community' conversations and voting on this topic, you'll see
there is a great deal of interest. What will it take to get some attention
paid to this?

Thank you for your efforts. I would like to take this to another level. WE
require a phone number to a real person Point of Contact. Not some poor
worker in India or Nepal who gets paid to handle unseen customer support.
We need a real member of the company capable of answering our questions.
Hopefully this text is being read by the Power's That Be of Fitbit,
hopefully!

Hey team - I need you to collaborate with Audible to create a feature that pauses or bookmarks audiobooks for the listener once it senses they’ve fallen asleep.

Hello @RyWalk, thank you for sharing this suggestion with the rest of the Community, it'd be great to have the option to pause or bookmark audiobooks, especially if it senses that we've fallen asleep. Great idea!

Let's see what other members think.

I prefer to listen to audiobooks over music, and am very disappointed that the Versa does not have it.

Hi @Countrygirl78, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here: Audible App for Ionic/Versa. Keep adding your suggestions!

Yes, please add the Audible app?? I would like to use it while walking.  It motivates me to walk further because I want to know what's going to happen

Many FitBit users have contacted me over the last 12 months with reference
to having the audible app on the Fitbit Versa. All of them have asked for
the same thing: the ability to download audible books to listen too while
exercising. A considerable number have delayed purchasing as it’s an
important issue. I was on the point of ordering and stopped at the last
minute simply because of the app not being available. If I have to carry my
iPhone as well there is no
Appeal in having a Versa. Simple as that. I listen to audible constantly.
Why assume everyone wants music.

If the Versa was compatible with the audible app I would buy it today.

Totally agree. Had the credit card out and then realized there’s no benefit
in having a Versa if I need my phone too!

I do like my Versa but totally upset that the company virtually ignores
it's customer base by not providing apps for Audible and Amazon Music.
They are losing business because of this!!!
