Add Halifax Bank (UK) to Google Wallet (formerly Fitbit Pay)

When is Fitbit going to expand the list of approved UK banks for the Wallet app?

US and Australian users have a huge choice of banks including national banks and credit cards like American Express, but the UK have a choice of four.

I was so excited to use my watch for payment, but I cant unless I chose to move to an obscure bank.

The approved four are: Boon. (Never heard of that), Danske (no idea), Santander and Starling (another I've never heard of). Aside from Santander, none of these are major banks.

Any chance UK users could get a better selection? Natwest, HSBC, Lloyds, Halifax??

I just splashed out £350 on two Versa 2’s for myself and my boyfriend as a gift after going through something awful.

We’ve  always wanted one and so bought them to cheer us up!!

After 3 days of research and comparing.. one of the main reasons I picked these over the less expensive models was the Contactless payments! It is so heavily advertised that this is a great feature and it doesn’t even work with Halifax.. or any main bank really.. just one!!

I am incredibly upset. I may well be boxing these up to return as we’ve only had them 3 days.

So I have something for you guys 🤗.

went to a different Argos today and they were very helpful.

they gave me a free phone number for Customer Support 08000698505

so I rang, got straight though to them 👍🏻. Ended up with a really nice guy on the phone and sent me an email to take to Argos to get a refund 👍🏻
very happy with this and wasn’t even on the phone that long. Great service if you have the right number to ring xxx Good luck guys and hope this helps you xxx

if you know anyone else that’s having the same problem then pass on the free phone number 😘

Yes, I vote for Halifax to be added to Fitbit pay

Hi please could a Fitbit Moderator reply to this saying whether Halifax is going to be added as an approved bank in the foreseeable future as this suggestion has been up for almost a year now.

If this is not the case, I will be returning the Charge 4 I've just ordered.

It’s been two years nearly since I posted this and Fitbit have done nothing for UK customers.

This month, I moved to Apple as I’m sick of Fitbit’s issues: crap service, tracking issues, software issues and bots (I had 137 friend requests in ONE DAY). I’m not coming back to Fitbit, it’s just not as good as competitors anymore and it obviously doesn’t care about UK users.

I live in Canada.  BMO is a major banking institution in the country.  It is not listed on the Wallet feature list of banks in Canada.   I would like it added to the list to use that feature.  It would be very convenient so I do not have to get out my debit card to pay for items

In case nobody has yet realised, Fitbit do not care about their customers. You wouldn’t believe the runaround they’ve given me on this topic. They barely even understand the question. Awful company, awful product.

I too vote for Halifax - very disappointed that I am not able to pay using my watch, it would be an ideal contactless method - something which would be very useful in these pandemic times!

Fitbit don’t care and aren’t capable of making this happen even if they did. Due to their continued ignorance I’ve bitten the bullet and bought an Apple Watch. Goodbye Fitbit, and good riddance. You just lost what could easily have been a lifelong customer.

I was told to contact my bank.  This said they only use Apple and Google pay.  The majority of people use Fitbit.  I don't understand their reluctance to use Fitbit pay.Tziona Greenberg

Sorry to hear that.  This is what my bank said. They said they only use Apple and Google pay.  The majority of people use Fitbit.  I don't understand their reluctance to use Fitbit pay..I am hoping my bank will join Fitbit pay in the future.Tziona Greenberg

It’s not the bank. It’s Fitbit. Fitbit told me to say that so I formally wrote to Halifax. They were not pleased and asked for record of Fitbit advising me it is down to the bank. Anyway, they confirmed, this is entirely on Fitbit to resolve. NOT Halifax. Let’s all be honest about it.

Please add Halifax & TSB to the bank that work with Fitpay.

One of the reasons I got my Versa 3 was to use Fitpay.

Thank you

Please Fitbit, customers have been asking from at least 2019 for halifax to be added to the fitbit banking list. Are you going to help us out?

They are not even going to listen to you - just in case that is not clear yet. I’ll never buy Fitbit again. It’s not just this, it’s every single question, comment or complaint. They DO NOT CARE.

I still get updates for this topic and am not surprised to see people still aren’t getting any customer service from Fitbit.

My honest advice: take it back and go Apple. Fitbit is no longer the cheaper competitor. I convinced myself for years that Fitbit was better and I was an idiot. I finally moved over 18 months ago and I’ve never looked back. No issues with contactless payment with any bank, no syncing issues, no bots and weirdos messaging you. Cool challenges, amazing workouts, live health data, no paying for watch face designs (what was that about Fitbit?!).

I believe it is vital that you add more UK banks to Fitbit pay. I've just bought a Versa 3 with the intention of using it to pay for things. I was shocked to find out that of the big banks you only support Santander. That is obviously ridiculous and frankly borders of mis-selling of your product. For my part I want to see Halifax and Monzo added.

------------------------------------------

I too vote for Halifax integration. It's ridiculous that in 2021 one of the leading smartwatches can't be used with any of the major banks in UK.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the possibility of adding Halifax bank for Fitbit Pay. I noticed that a similar feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here, this helps to keeps the boards more organized. Make sure to add your vote as well to support this suggestion, this helps the team of developers to keep track of popularity and demand over time. You can also vote for this idea about the option to add Monzo to Fitbit Pay.

Thank you again for your participation in the Community!

What an absolute non reply from a “moderator”

Fitbit have failed their UK customers BIG time and all you can is faff about with which board should contain the thread?

I’ll never buy a Fitbit product again. End of story.

Good idea.  I am having an issue here in Canada.  I deal with a major bank, Bank of Montreal and they are not listed as a Bank that uses Fitbit Pay.There are a few other banks in Canada that's not on the list eitherTziona Greenberg

Just bought the Fitbit sense, I purchased it because of its ability to use Fitbit pay, Fitbit are advertising that it can be used anywhere you see the contactless sign, false advertising fitbit because you can’t, it’s not acceptable that the major banks in the UK are not in the list and maybe fitbit should advertise that when enticing people to but there products.

Hello
I bought my Fitbit Versa 3 for the same reason. I contacted fitbit over a year ago about this issue but unfortunately none of the main Uk banks have been added to Fitpay.

Yes, BMO (Bank of Montreal) is a major bank in :canada: Canada.  There are so many others not included for Fitbit Pay, that are major banks.

Please could Fitbit add Halifax to their list of banks that they work with?  I have had a couple of Fitbits now since 2017 - and was really pleased to find that I could use my watch to make payments. It was a bit annoying to have to go through all the effort of putting the numbers and other details into the system only to then discover that my bank isn’t even compatible with the Fi it pay facility. So time consuming and a bit annoying! So please please add Halifax!!!
