Add Lloyds bank to UK Fitbit pay

More bank compatibility for uk Fitbit pay versa users. So far Fitbit pay is not connected to any major banks in the UK. The very few that fit bit pay is connected to I’ve never even heard of. So as a UK versa owner I have the special edition and can’t use the very feature that separates it from the the normal versa.

is Fitbit pay going to compatible with the major banks in the UK like Barclays, Lloyds, Santander, HSBC, NatWest, TSB, Metro Bank, Halifax, Royal Bank of Scotland etc and also I haven’t seen any where (shops) that accepts Fitbit pay yet.

So disappointed that Halifax can’t be used with Fitbit pay. Seems to have been under consideration for several years. Wish I’d known before I bought my Versa.

When are you going to add the major cards to Fitbit pay.

@Graeme1974  as a customer of the bank, you have the power to request they join the Fitbit Pay program. Fitbit would love more banking institutions to join in, but it has to be the bank to sign off on the arrangement. Ask your bank, talk to the manager, do whatever you can.

Hi @Graeme1974 , thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the possibility of adding more UK banks for Fitbit Pay. I've merged your suggestion here, to the most popular idea for a UK bank in the Feature Suggestion board of the Community, since it wasn't about any bank in specific. However, if you have a specific bank in mind, you can post your idea again with more details or you can vote for the following suggestions and add your comments:

This helps to keeps the boards more organized. Make sure to add your vote as well to support this suggestion, this helps the team of developers to keep track of popularity and demand over time.

Thank you again for your participation in the Community!

Just add Google pay as a payment method for fitbit pay and we can use our normal banks

Good on you Wyldwiise, I agree entirely. Now that Fitbit is owned by Google this should be a 'no-brainer'. Fitbit's management need to realise that the longer they hold off on replacing (or at the very least supplimenting) Fitbit Pay with the far more widely accepted Google Pay, the longer people will hold off buying their products, or worse, go with a competitors product that already has this.

Same for Apple Pay of course.

So after trying to set up my new Fitbit with Fitbit pay, I have found out this isn't a feature supported by any of the UK major banks. So frustrated. All I can see on the community sites is for users to make suggestions on here to have ourselves heard. There are hundreds of requests and votes over the years but still no major UK banks!!

Hi @StoneJones  all the votes or suggestions won't make a difference unless your bank agrees to participate in the program. Have you spoken to your bank and told them people want to have it included for their customers? I'm sure it's a lot of paperwork involved for them to join the program to accommodate their patrons, just as yourself.

Hi @StoneJones, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about adding UK banks to Fitbit Pay. I understand your concern and  I want you to know that we provide feedback to our team taking in consideration the information you share with us. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration".

I hope to see you around.

There appears to be a lack of interest from fit-bit of the opinions and requests of its customers, I do feel that if they shaped up people would be less likely to jump ship and buy a different product

Lack of interest you say... they've been considering doing what people have been asking for in this thread for several years - that's a mighty lot of consideration! What do you expect, action?

Don't worry, in due course when Google takes over fully as the companies new owner, Fitbit devices will come with Google Pay and then lack of bank support for Fitbit Pay will no longer be an issue. Personally, I can't wait for the day when we get a Pixel watch made by Fitbit with cellular/mobile connectivity and usingthe latest all Google OS (WearOS) and software such as Google Pay and Google Play Store.

Four years on and Fitbit is being overtaken again by other smart watch companies.

Just got my versa2 & can't use fitbit pay with any recognised UK bank/credit card. What a con! Suggestions going back 4 years & no action. So back to phone payments. This is crazy...very disappointed 😞 with Fitbit.

This has been solved. Just sign up for Curve, it take about 15 minutes and
it's free. It allows you to attach all of your payment methods to a single
digital and physical card. You can then register your Curve card with
Fitbit pay, all your transactions go through the bank account you set as
your primary account. I use it everyday it's a brilliant service for money
management etc. So much so I hardly log into my Lloyd's account anymore.

Sounds like an interesting workaround MegaManX. If the curve card is free I'm wondering how that provider makes any profit.

Until Google (who now own Fitbit) finally release watches with Google Pay I'm still voting with my wallet. Maybe Vanessaah is able to get a refund by returning the watch explaining the situation.

Why have Fitbit not added more UK banks yet? This has been ‘under consideration’ for over 4 years!! Lagging behind here.  Wish I’d known this before purchasing Versa 3 - looks like an Apple Watch will have to be purchased instead

Flying_Kiwi

A shameful situation originally but now that Google owns Fitbit, why would they want to expand or develop Fitbit Pay when they already have Google Pay/Google Wallet with far more support from banks around the world? As for why Fitbit devices don't all come with Google WearOS and compatible software rather than proprietary Fitbit software (including Fitbit Pay), it seems as if the original people behind Fitbit, don't want to fully embrace everything Google - well that's the only way I can perceive this. Maybe someone else can throw some light on this? Certainly voting with your wallet and buying something already fully supported in your country/by the main banks in your country, is the way to go.

Please add nationwide to Fitbit pay.
the lack of UK banks makes it pointless really.
