Add Lloyds bank to UK Fitbit pay

More bank compatibility for uk Fitbit pay versa users. So far Fitbit pay is not connected to any major banks in the UK. The very few that fit bit pay is connected to I’ve never even heard of. So as a UK versa owner I have the special edition and can’t use the very feature that separates it from the the normal versa.

is Fitbit pay going to compatible with the major banks in the UK like Barclays, Lloyds, Santander, HSBC, NatWest, TSB, Metro Bank, Halifax, Royal Bank of Scotland etc and also I haven’t seen any where (shops) that accepts Fitbit pay yet.

Absolutely agree, however falls on deaf ears with Fitbit, started this thread 12 months ago, and some have been having this battle longer than me.
USA market appears to be Fitbit’s priority, there are loads of banks on the list in USA.

Hi everybody

There is no point in continuing with this thread as it is getting no response from Fitbit.. They have basically lied and mislead every Fitbit owner. I gather Google has bought out Fitbit so maybe they will take up this ridiculous situation that we find ourselves  in 😞

I notice that Liz the moderator says it's under consideration and that these things take a while "over a year" your having a laugh🤣 By the time we get Fitbit pay my Versa will be obsolete

Just do what i did and set up a revolut account.  It takes 2 mins and works perfectly.   Links to your bank accountSent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

  • Why would I want to open  another bank account just to get Fitbit pay to work it's all a half baked idea

Totally agree. Get the UK banks set up.

The Revolut solution doesn’t work for me as I couldn’t set up the card on Fitbit pay.

Switching or using another bank for this feature to work shouldn't have to be done.

Unfortunately it's the only way most of us can do it at this current time..

I am currently using my Lloyd's bank through Revolut.

Only problem is that the Revolut pay method you have to keep topping up with money from your Lloyd's account, unless you wanted to switch to just having a Revolut account (which is absurd to say the leass!!).

I have contacted Lloyd's in person and they have kindly explained to me that they have not yet been contacted by Fitbit regarding any partnering with the watch payment methods and they have no plans to do so in the near future.

🤷‍:male_sign:so I'm guessing to leave fitbit soon and go with a samsung galaxy watch.

Ok i was just trying to help you with a way to use your watch.   Just a suggestion.  Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

@GutherS I was not intending on making your comments feel useless or ungrateful, I was just giving out my opinion on the matter.. for now Revolut is doing me favours but I will gradually be leaving the fitbit community due to the Fitbit being such a rubbish response system and lying to millions of uk customers.

I think the Revolut is not a bad compromise as long as you stick to the standard account which is free.  Setting up a direct debit to top up the account from your main bank account is not such an issue, in my book and is not a bad workaround for those who don’t want the expense of going for an Apple Watch.  If you think about what you will actually be using contactless watch payments for, it shouldn’t be too hard to get the monthly DD figure about right.
Revolut seems to keep track of payments real-time so possibly prevents overdrafts.   I know it’s playing into Fitbit’s hands somewhat, but they are clearly happy to ignore the ‘tiny’ customer base  in the UK as long as overall sales projections for the market stay on track. Work around, or go Apple, but also keep up the pressure.

I don't disagree with you.   Was just trying to give people a way forward.   I am... like you furious with fitbit and will not buy another one.   Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

What do you have to do for fitbit to sit up, take notice and add some UK banks?  I would like Halifax added.

Lots of people commenting and voting but no action from fitbit.  What do we have to do?  Its very poor from fitbit

My bad. I just saw this thread after getting a Versa 2. None of the major banks are supported even after an year! Looks like they are all for namesake!!

Add atleast couple of HIGH STREET banks not the digital ones please!

I got a reply from fitbit saying it was a banking issue and not a fitbit issue.  Basically your bank needs to sign up to fitbit pay.  As such I have just emailed Bank of scotland and asked the question.  They say they have no plans to sign up to the software but they would put the suggestion forward to their ‘improvements team’.  It was a two second online chat.  I suggest everyone does this and if they get hundreds of people asking for it they will surely do it!  I think it’s the banks we need to pressure not fitbit

Metro Bank is a relatively new bank in the UK with 1 million+ customers.

It would be cool if this would work with Fitbit, as it would help everybody who currently uses Metro Bank

Hi @CharlieM312, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!

Could Lloyds contactless payment be introduced to the iconic watch.

This seems to be a popular request but doesn't seem to be getting any further, I tried adding my cards but it's not supported.

I must say I purchased this watch for the feature of contactless payment with Lloyds but very disappointing you can't.

Come in let's have this most wanted facility.

Ha ha usual reply which means it will not happen as apparently we have to approach our banks and ask for this to be considered, even though Fitbit advertise this, false advertising, will not buy Fitbit again

You will not get an answer from them, moderators overate everything out and nothing happens.

Fitbit, this is dire. I used Apple Pay with a John Lewis credit card all the time with my Apple Watch. When I broke my Apple watch I moved back to Fitbit as I'd always loved the early devices and they still do the best sleep tracking. Now it looks like I can't use a very basic service that my Apple Watch did and I used a dozen times daily...and your response is "We're thinking about it." Yeah, and I'm thinking about going back to Apple.
