Add 'Pixel watch' in the same account with other devices

I just received my new Pixel watch and was disappointed to find out I could no longer use my Versa 3 watch as well. My Pixel watch has a battery life of 24 hours which is not sufficient to get me through a camping weekend. I thought I could switch between the 2. I would be willing to remove all apps from my Versa 3 to get that functionality.

Fully agree, I believe Fitbit will loss many customers if they continue with this limitation. This issue will impact the selling of the new Pixel watch which it is promoting as the Smart Fitbit watch! But the same company don't allow to have multiple watches.

Also adding my vote for this.
Connecting my Pixel Watch also disconnected my Charge device, but I'd like to use my Charge for all-day step counting and my Pixel Watch for workouts, as per mention on this help page:
https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1715.htm

  • Wear a smaller device for all-day step counting and a larger device for workouts.

At the very least, a quick toggle between primary (active) device within the app would be an adequate short-term solution (until app data can be shared) so that it isn't a full reconnection each time to change the device.

For the Product Manager:
As a Fitbit power user, I'd like to be able to use multiple Fitbit devices from the current lineup connected to one account, so that I can maintain tracking in different situations with application-specific devices.

Hope moderators listen to us all and add this feature. I have a sense 2 and got a Pixel watch as a present, unfortunately can have both in the same account

Cheers

I just received my brand new Pixel watch.  I immediately went through the setup process.  Then I noticed the Fitbit app disconnected my existing Fitbit when I connected my Pixel Watch.

I started researching what was going.  I wanted to find out if there's a way around the 'issue'. That's when I found this discussion on the same topic.

I want the ability to add both my Fitbit and my Pixel Watch to my Fitbit app so I can switch between the 2 when ever I need to.  So add my vote for multi Fitbit and Pixel watch support to be added to the Fitbit app.

I am amazed that Fitbit is leaving money on the table -- why would you not want people to have multiple devices that can be used on the same fitbit app?

It's crazy. I'm returning my Charge 5 because it won't sync to the fitbit app without having to onboard every time (just make an option to skip onboarding!).

There's clearly a market here that wants multiple fitbit devices AT THE SAME TIME. Having fitbit premium on a Pixel Watch where the battery doesn't last long enough to use it is useless.

This whole support article is confusing in that it mentions that you can add multiple devices, but I called support and was told there is no other fitbit device that would connect to the app with a second fitbit device. Your documentation is out of date: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1715.htm#:~:text=Adding%20more%20than%20one%20Fi....

I fully support this. I had fully planned to get the Pixel Watch for daily wear, then put it on the charger while going to the gym where I would switch and wear my Charge 5. This way I'd never end up without battery life on either.

In addition to battery, I also don't want to wear the Pixel Watch in the gym as exercises can be quite intense (weights etc) which means the Pixel Watch is likely to get damaged.

I bought a second Pixel Watch because I wanted to switch between the two so I never have to worry about losing a charge. Luckily I randomly stumbled upon this before opening the watch.

What a massive oversight to not allow multiple devices to be used. Who knows how many people have returned their Pixel Watches/Fitbits because of this poorly thought out approach to device management. I know I'm at least one!

It was too late by the time I found out otherwise I would have done the
same. Now I have a Pixel watch on one hand and a Fitbit on the other, very
shortsighted! With the job, I do I cannot wear by Pixel watch nfortunately,
, so I am stuck with it.

Unfortunately, I get the feeling Fitbit don't care as no replies to
this thread, irrespective of the number of comments.

This is an absolut must have feature!!!!!!

especially with the short battery life of the Pixel Watch.

I really cant believe that this is not implemented already. I see forum posts from 2020 where people are asking for this.

I know that within 2 Fitbits its difficult because of the App Gallery thing, but as i see it the Pixel Watch is nor really using the same function.....

PLEASE give us the ability to connect Pixel watch plus one "normal" Fitbit!!!!

Massive agreement with this thread. It's crazy that we can't easily switch between devices. Please, please change this!

I ended up selling my Pixel Watch because of the inability to easily swap between it and my Charge 5. Completely ridiculous.

The idea that you can't have multiple devices connected to one account is insane. I bought a Sense 2 during the Black Friday sale thinking I could use it with my Pixel Watch. There should really be a warning on the store page. The entire Fitbit ecosystem seems to be a series of half-baked ideas. They really need to address this issue.

I want this feature two. I want to be able to use my pixel watch and my perfectly good Fitbit charge so I can switch between the two. I'm not going to take my pixel swimming or anywhere it may get damaged whereas I don't mind my charge going to the gym etc.

You also need an option on pixel watch to reduce the frequency of checking the biometrics to reduce battery life if a user wants to and is happy to have less accurate/up to date data via the pixel watch. I'll use my Fitbit charge when I want to pay close attention to accurate biometrics in the gym.

I ended up selling my Pixel Watch because of this. Definitely not worth the money without being able to easily switch back and forth with my Charge 5.  And based on my previous experience with other reasonable / popular requests on this community website, I have absolutely no confidence that the fitbit team will resolve this quickly - or at all.

You can do it, I figured out how, but I don't dare write it here, in case Fitbit finds out and fixes it (Fitbit would surely correct this "bug" very quickly, while it doesn't even bother with bugs that have been exists for years)

Just send me a message.

@czandor thanks a lot. This really worked.

This makes the whole Watch so much more useful for daily use... but still funny that you have to use a workaround.....

Yes, this is just someone not working with the developers properly.

I should be able to have 5 charge 5 watches if I want to spend the money, or any combination or number of trackers on my one account.

This is not an oversight, it is just poorly thought out, that is pretty clear, I bet the marketing team have to answer for the sales numbers....err, yeah guys, we can now only sell one device per person cause we (whoever runs software) messed up the software planning 🙂

I've been asking for this for YEARS!  Apparently if the watches run the same OS, they can't be on the same account.  I'm not sure what the OS is for the Pixel Watch, but I know all the devices after the Ionic have the same Fitbit OS, hence why they cant be added together.

czandor
Recovery Runner

According to Fitbit's explanation, it is not allowed because two devices using App Gallery cannot be in the same account. Which makes sense, because probably only one companion (embedded javascript client) can run on the phone.
Well, the Pixel Watch doesn't use App Gallery, it doesn't have FitbitOS. But later I will test in more detailed whether everything runs fine (from a companion) on Sense together with Pixel Watch.

greggy123
Recovery Runner

It is not the OS it seems, as there are many devices that do work together on one account. And even the information on this site is not all correct, so try your devices, if they will not get along, when you add the new device it will bump the old one from your account.

I just returned my Pixel watch because of this as I rather have the Versa 3 than deactivate it for something that lasts only a day. Even though I was really looking forward to using the new watch. When they fix this issue, I'll buy the watch again.

czandor

@nevets23 Much better now, that I managed to pair the Pixel Watch with my Sense. I can decide which one to wear at any time. If I stay up late at night and the Pixel Watch battery doesn't last, I just pick my Sense without any install/config/pair procedure.

@czandor Can you tell me how you did it? I don't know how to DM you on the FitBit website. Cheers.

Yes, saying what you did would help, I guess the pixel watch does not use gallery if in fact it works ?
