Habashee, you were talking about creating an activity.... is that how you were doing it, from this search field, or you really created it from scratch somewhere?

Yes I was doing it from the activity
I would go into the App
Select “Track your exercise” half way down the home page.
That would list all the activities
Most of mine would come up as “Walk”
I would select the one the Fitbit logged as a “Walk”!but I was roller skating.
They would take me into the activity.
I would then select “Categorise Exercise”
Then in the search option at the top I would type “Roller skating”
It would then bring uo
Roller blading
Roller skating

You then select either one.
It would change the name of the activity from “Walk” to one you select above.

Thanks a lot... I did reach Fitbit because something did not seem right and that is confirmed.... there is a problem in my app with no way to understand what it is.

I should be contacted by "level 2"

person.

Thanks again and sorry for the trouble

Rollerblading and rollerskating have increased in popularity as of the COVID epidemic. Why is this not an included ‘activity’ on Fitbit yet. What are you waiting for?

Hi @Ne92st, thanks for sharing this suggestion about adding rollerblading as exercise shortcut with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to keep the forums organized and make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

I love this idea and would love to have this feature - i play ice hockey and would love to track how i do each time on the ice. the apple watch has a hockey tracker that tracks calories, distance skated, max speed, hr recovery, max hr, average hr, vo2 max hockey fitness level, skate efficiency. i'm getting back on the ice after breaking my leg and would really love to see how i improve. The only way i get some kind of tracking now is to use "workout". I can't believe the original post was on 05-01-2016 and it has 462 votes but still no update?!?!.

I go skating (roller blading) for fitness and exercise. I am trying to do this regularly, and unfortunately It isn't current part of the selectable exercises. So I pick 'workout' (or whatever you like), and later change the exercise category to roller blading / roller skating (you can do this through the fitbit app itself when looking at your recorded exercises.

Surely it should be possible to work this out as it is a pretty regular skating movement where your arms balance from left to right, even if it includes some gliding and slaloming part without much arm movements. The distance covered without much arm movements generally  includes numerous leg movements, and even when just going straight down a slope, there should be a way to convert that distance into steps based on the distance covered. when the arms don't move much. There school that have tried to convert to steps every activity that exists, and I suspect that with the data collected, comparing with the same person when they just walk, it should be possible to workout something at least.

Rollerblade or skating tracker would be nice. Atm if i what to get this activity track my options are running or biking, which have there own down fall. Running gets confused from the steps and speed not being in sink so the end km/miles are off by alot but you get the # of steps correct. Biking get the speed and distance right but have no step counter.

Another vote for rollerblading being added to exercise shortcuts on Sense/Versa devices. Simply allowing us to, in the FitBit mobile app, create/choose which exercises we can link a shortcut on the device.

This thread and feature has had a long life, and I'm sure there'd be many community members willing to conduct the development work themselves if the OS was open source.

I LOVE roller skating!  Street skating, jam skating, and roller derby.  I especially would love this for roller derby.  It would take a lot of the guess work out of figuring out my calories burned.

It’s crazy how long this has gone on. Much longer and I’ll be too old to skate anymore!

I am disappointed to learn how hard this is to track, especially when polar supports it.  I am going to try the polar unite, and hope it can easily track calories and distance. If it is good I will sadly return my charge 5, even though I love the size and its other features.

This is really a shame, I love the slim profile of the charge, and it feels like it cannot be that many lines of code to track my distance with the gps, my heart rate, and give me a calorie count.  Is there an easy way to even get a cardio profile that just tracks my distance, speed, heart rate, and calories?

If you add this it would be a new and powerful market for you.  Inline skating usage exploded during covid https://www.prweb.com/releases/rollerblade_sales_up_more_than_300_percent_since_beginning_of_march/p...

It feels like your company is just leaving money on the table while your competitors are capable of shipping dozens of more activities.

That is great news @LizzyFitbit.  Do you know when it might come to the charge five? I just purchased one and would love to use this ASAP

Is it going to be on the Charge 4? I don't want to have to buy a new fitbit just for this.
