Why is there no skiing activity to the activity list on device??? With GPS its a great platform to track runs. Please add soon.

I am active outdoors and need Fitbit to add more workout options for outdoors, specifically snowshoeing, skating, cross-country skiing, and kayaking. Currently Fitbit's options are very indoor-centred.

Add winter sports to Versa 3 like cross country skiing, downhill skiing, skating, etc. Also integrate to calorie burning the temperature outside that burns more calories if very cold for example

The wheather gets better so my skates are coming out of the closet. Unfortunately i can’t track the route that i followed. There is also no other option because biking and running are totally different in burning callories.

I suspect have many others.

Would really like the skate part of the function. The only thing the have to change is the amount of calories that are counted different from running or biking. Skating almost every week!

Yes, it's been more than 5 years now!
Most people here have switched to something else.
This inaction has undoubtedly cost Fitbit many thousands of lost sales and
millions of dollars.

I received my Fitbit as a gift and it seems to do general fitness metrics well: walking, heart rate, calories and the sleep tracking has been handy. Great for a gym person or someone doing basic fitness. Unfortunately I do everything outdoors, in motion, specifically cycling and skiing which’s when my Fitbit goes into broken mode and drops the GPS signal or segments my exercise into bizarre things like moderate activity, Sport and unknown. Super frustrating. I would just go back to a real athletic product like Garmin or Polar next time. My Magellan bike computer with chest strap HR monitor is more sccurate

I ski all winter and it's very frustrating after 5 hours skiing that my fitbit recognizes 60 steps only 😑
I'm hoping my Charge 2 will be better but would like it to recognize skiing as an activity

Could you please add more outdoor exercise activities such as cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, and kayaking? Please add them as an update to the system so current users can use them.

Sadly, this longstanding issue has been “under consideration” for years. If you read this thread, your losing a lot of winter workout customers.

Get it done!

Having ability to track ice skating to predict distance traveled and overall energy spent would be amazing. I know my tracker is counting it as steps but that would be incorrect. I think the same would cross reference quite nicely with roller blading and maybe even longboarding.

I saw... The requests go back at least 4 years from what I saw. Not to
mention how my Fitbit had been acting up with sync and other related
issues. I don't understand why it it so hard to count outdoor/winter
outdoor activities. And it's still "under consideration" and not "under
development"

@SunsetRunnerThe requests go back much further than that. This was first suggested by me, and some others, at least as long as six and a half years ago in January 2015.

Like most others here who like winter sports, I long ago ditched my Fitbits and have purchased a series of Garmin's, initially a Fenix 5, but now a Fenix 6. Others I see have gone the Polar route.

I'm afraid with this kind of attitude to what their customers want, it is no surprise than Fitbit have been bought by Google.

O know that if Fitbit does not add the exercise options soon, my next watch
will not be a Fitbit.

I have been looking into other trackers as well. I'll let my versa die and
probably go a different route as well. This is very frustrating
