According to Fitbit my alpine skiing the last 2 days has resulted in a total of 38 mins of exercise. What a joke. It's really too bad that nothing has been done in the past few years to rectify this problem
Please add x country skiing to the choices of activities. Bummed it's not available. Thinking of returning my Charge as it is my go to winter weekend workout.
I just got a Surge and was a bit surprised that there's no winter sports activity. It's been almost two years since this was first posted. Is there line of sight on this? Thanks!
Yes! Adjusting the distance/step count/calorie burn to more accurately reflect cross country skiing (without relying on GPS from my phone) would be useful. Many people don't ski with their phones, including me.
Same thing for me! I bought the Charge thinking that it would support by default cross-country ski... Winter sports are huge here in Canada (I can't run on the snow...)
As a regular skier; downhill, cross country and back country, I'd love to see the ability to track skiing added to my Fitbit Surge! I'd suggest 2 modes - 'Downhill Skiing' that doesn't count the Chairlift, and 'Ski Touring' that would cover Cross Country/ Back Country - anything that requires your own effort to get to the top.
Many thanks for your consideration! I hope to see this included soon.
Entering this function manually is not the same as RESOLVING this issue, it is a work around. We should be able to enter cross country skiing from the SURGE device itself. BIOS update?
I have had loads of replies to the suggestion that there should be a skiing mode on fitbit equipment and that it should link to other apps like the Apple iphone, or android equivalent. Thanks to you all!
It would be great to hear from the manufacturer about whether this is likely or possible.... it certainly seems to be something that the community would want
Yes! Back country activities that include Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking as tracking options would more accurately reflect my exercise options. Pair that with GPS for distance and altitude climb measured in conjunction with my iPhone 6 and my new Fitbit charge 2 would be indispensable. Without it, heart rate is my only useful measure.
Fitbit...this has been a big question since the Surge came out. Could you please chime in and let us know if ithe is or isn't something that is being considered. Thank you in advance.
I love my new Fitbit charge 2 that I received for Christmas. I am obsessed with it! It would be great it downhill skiing were added as an exercise activity to Fitbit charge 2. I downhill ski 2-3 days per week during the season and wish it could be included in my daily activity goal. Thank you!
