Please add more Banks for Canada. Having only rbc as a big name is sad. Please add TD bank, Tangerine, Scotiabank, BMO.. etc. Con having Fitbit pay but not being able to use it because limited access to banks..

It's really too bad that it's been a year and ~3 months now since the release of the Ionic which brought Fitbit Pay along with it, and there's really not a single word about introducing any new Canadian banks other than seemingly empty confirmation from Fitbit that the community's suggestions have been received/considered. I know it's been mentioned countless times in this thread (more importantly it's the topic lol), but I'll say it again; bring TD Canada Trust support to Fitbit Pay. If not TD, since they seem to be the least mobile payment friendly bank of the Big 5, please at least add another one (or two, or three) major Canadian banks. Rough timelines at the very least would certainly be appreciated as well by the community!
Still no word on any banks other than voting which is completely crazy. We’ve all put money into buying these products and the company can’t even help out their customers by adding Canadian banks. America had no issues adding banks. Watch would be a lot better if we had answers and came with what it said. They pretty much sold me on the Fitbit pay but don’t actually get it.... false advertising.
I bought the special edition in Canada for use with TD bank. As others have mentioned,this is a large bank. I would like to know of there is intent to add them to the NFC payment options eventually, or if there is no plan at all. I can wait a short time for implementation, but otherwise the special edition is useless and I will return it.
It's almost worth the switch to Apple, because let's face it, lacking built in GPS sucks enough in the Charge 3 and battery life longevity is just really not that awesome coupled with that. As a Canadian in winter...this thing is just a watch most days as it is. Beef up the cool factor, Fitbit!
It is now April and no word on US/Canada TD Bank. What a let down. Everyone should just go with an Apple Watch or Google Wear. At least they have a wide variety of banks they work with including TD. Not to mention the notifications work without issues.
Any update on this? The only reason I bought the special edition was for this. I spent the extra money and can't even use it! I don't understand why this hasn't been done yet.
I agree - an update at the least would be nice. I would like to know if there is no intent to bring on TD instead of being strung along. I paid extra for the special edition for this reason only. Disappointing.
In decision whether to stay with fitbit or go to apple watch. I’m not impressed with fitbit not putting enough emphasis on canadian banks for payment. Owned a fitbit from the very beginning when all it was tracking steps that you clipped on your sweater or pants. Thought by now that the company wld have evolved to keep up with the competition.
I’ve recently bought my new Fitbit Ionic, looking forward to Fitbit Pay as it is a heavily advertised feature. I wish there was some sort of a disclaimer, noting that this is not compatible with most major Canadian banks. Specifically, I bank predominantly with TD Canada Trust, however, as I’ve read through these comments (and kind requests) by devoted users of your products dating back to early 2017, I’ve realized there has been little to no effort to resolve the matter, beyond a simple “vote”. Most comments denote each user’s preference, but as most Canadians would, they wish to have the situation resolved for one another as well. Please do show to us that you do care, or as many of the frustrated customers commenting, I will have to return my device and move on to a lifestyle product (smartwatch) that is more compatible with my own lifestyle.
Its surprising that nearly 3 years after TD was suggested to be added, it's still not supported. Please add this. It's one of the largest banks in Canada.
You have been asked to add more payment features like TD since 3-18... seriously 18 months later and nothing. When you advertise the Versa payment options you should make it very clear that there are no good Canadian options.
I would like like to think a company would be jumping at the chance to keep customers from upgrading to an Apple Watch.
It’s been a very long time indeed. I was equally unimpressed just less than a month ago to learn the scarcity of supported Canadian banks. After speaking with several support reps, it seems clear this process will take more than a few months, years...who knows, maybe a decade before more are added. Canadians don’t seem to be a priority. Will be returning my Ionic very soon.
