Add a "Find my phone" app in the Fitbit App Gallery

We all misplace our phones from time to time. Since there is Bluetooth connection, it should be simple to reverse the notification and ring your phone. So long as the phone is within Bluetooth range, this should be a feature on the new Versa/Ionic.

Most smart watches have this feature today.  Please add it to the fitbit!

Wasn't until recently I realized this wasn't available, had multiple smart watches -- Versa is my first Fit Bit

Mostly adding my name to the list requesting this feature, but it does leave me questioning ongoing usage...

This is a basic function of a smart watch. Please add a shortcut.

Hi @R0l! Great suggestion, thanks for taking the time to share why you would like to see this option on your Versa. I've moved it into a similar suggestion. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.

Please add this feature into the “settings” app on Inspire!

"You Forget your phone"

When you are away from your phone, give you a notification on your watch.

"Find my phone"

You can ring your phone from your watch.

I can't even see in the app store.

I used zenwatch, pebble, mi band, all are old devices and they all have those features.

Please add these feature in fitbit app or maybe sell separate app.

I wish to pay if the app is so stable.

I love my fit bit, but want this feature.

Can we get our button on the fit bit to send a ring tone to "find my phone" like the apple phone and iwatch?

Hi @cchettinger. Thanks for sharing this great suggestion with us! This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. Don't forget to add your vote!

Dear @LizzyFitbit, thank you for letting us know that Fitbit is aware that Fitbit users would like to have this feature which is available on vast majority of similar devices. This request has 3323 posts so far. How many votes does it have to gain?

@1GR3 The thing is that they have no incentive to provide you these features without money, even though it would be relatively simple and cheap to do so. Fitbit as a company has been moving more and more into a proft from users type of company which is honestly a huge turn off, especially with the advent of those low quality "premium" features that you have to pay for even though you paid up to 200 bucks literally for those simple features.

Is this under consideration for future models?

I'm sure this has been suggested but it's a really excellent feature that FitBit is missing a huge opportunity to serve it's community with: incorporate a Find My Phone app into your smart watches.  Had one on my last smart watch (from a nameless competitor)  and was likely my 3rd used app. Super handy, please make it happen and build even more value in your already excellent products, thanks!

I think it's completely bonkers that this feature isn't standard on the new Versa 2 that just came out. Come on Fitbit, this thread has been going on since February 2015! What gives? 'Finding my phone' shouldn't be a 3rd party, added expense application. The connection already exists between phone and watch and requires only a little programming on the side. Very disappointing.

While we are talking about it, why does my phone have to have GPS enabled to get notifications. My texts don't need GPS data. This causes my phone's battery to die very quickly, as in I can't get through a workday without charging when this is on.
I was very excited to move into a Fitbit device, but these two major issues have me reconsidering the Fitbit brand altogether. Please challenge yourself to fix these problems.

Hi @BikeRidesRockThanks for taking the time to explain why you would like to have this 3rd party app included in your Fitbit device! This feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here. This idea has been developed by a third party developer, and can be downloaded from the Fitbit App Gallery available on Fitbit Smartwatches such as Fitbit Ionic or Fitbit Versa family. To find it, open the Fitbit app, tap the profile's icon > your Fitbit device > Apps > All Apps and look after the Find My Phone app.

Please note that if you have feedback or a suggestion for the third party app, you can contact the developer directly (if they have shared their contact details publicly). Open their app in the Fitbit App Gallery and you’ll find their contact details under "app details" or "clock face details". Keep adding your suggestions!

Hi @LizzyFitbit. Thanks for your response and taking the time to explain that the feature I'd like included in my Fitbit device is available as a 3rd party app (which is not what I'd like) and for merging my first post to what appears to be a relevant matured thread!

I did not suggest a 3rd party app. I suggested it should be provided as a
standard feature for no extra cost.

This is a feature that needs to come standard on things like the versa 2.  You are calling it a smart watch, but with out any of the basic smart watch features its just an over priced fitness tracker.  After a year an a half of people complaining about this, I assume that this is a feature that will not be added, and that this will be the last fitbit product I buy.

Bought fitbit versa 2 recently for my wife and we both were pretty surprised that this watch doesn't have such a simple core functionality existed for years on almost all competitors watches. Come on, it's 2019 already, time to listen to your customers or loose them.

Hi @wewakesingthanks for your request about creating a "find/lock my phone" feature for Fitbit.

This feature suggestion already exists as same as an app, so I’ve moved your post here to maintain this board organized.

@mrc1984 @Ybakh @creepy2  I feel bad to the fitbit community managers having to play diplomat to an rightfully increasingly discontent fanbase. It's not really PR's fault nor is the customer wrong for complaining about these basic, basic features that Fitbit continues to neglect and push and laze the workload to 3rd party developers doing their work for them for free.

The problem is that these basic functionalities like phone pinger should be built into fitbit itself as core functions, since every other competitor and smartwatch has had them since 2015. There's a ton of these features that Fitbit refuses to innovate or deliver on, when the consumer pays 200 dollars for what is essentially a heart rate tracker being packaged and marketed as a smart watch.

Functions like phone pinger and sleep stage alarm clock (a "smart" alarm), among others, are easy to program and do not take up much time or energy. The thing is Fitbit has already sold their product and made a profit, there is no incentive to improve it after, so even simple demands of customers are being offloaded to third party developers (often customers themselves who want these features) and even then, the developers charge stupid amounts for what is a basic feature that should be on a 200 dollar price. Don't even get me started on "premium" and its trash features that really should have been released with the fitbit itself or provided free in an easy to do update.

Rant over, my next smart watch will probably not be a versa unless Fitbit really starts listening to its fanbase.

I am shocked that there is no this function yet...

This is definitely possible as the Apple watch has this feature. I'm sure they're tired of hearing that comparison but I think the versa 2 has a lot of pote tial for being better than the apple watch!
