Add a "Find my phone" app in the Fitbit App Gallery

We all misplace our phones from time to time. Since there is Bluetooth connection, it should be simple to reverse the notification and ring your phone. So long as the phone is within Bluetooth range, this should be a feature on the new Versa/Ionic.

Since I initially posted this desire, I have had so many folks chime in on how amazing his feature would be to have but so far no change has occurred 🙁 Super sad!

I had to use the Gear Fit for a while, and it has this feature. I used it a lot! It was so handy. Needless to say, I went back to a Fitbit because of all the other options I prefer on their platform/device, but I miss this one feature a great deal.

My first fitness tracker was an inexpensive Garmin.  One of my favorite features was "find my phone."  My phone would flash and admit a very loud noise even if it was in silent mode. Love it.  If Garmin can do it.......

Exactly! People have been asking for this feature since 2015.

An app on the watch that will allow your phone to light up and sound (even in silent mode) when activated and within range of phone.

I’d like to see a shopping list on my ionic, something I can scroll through and tick off as I go. Could be written on iPhone and then uploaded to the ionic.

Also if possible control the Camera shutter on my iPhone.

Thanks in advance for looking.

@Troly I would suggest posting a new suggesrion for a shopping list.

This thread is for the unrelated request to locate a phone, which is a duplicate of the Find my phone request

This should already be a feature. Please add find my phone.

Hi @Mscpgh thanks for this idea, it seems like a popular one with the community! I will discuss this with the development team here. This also seems like an opportunity for third party developers to make an app for the Fitbit App Gallery for Fitbit Ionic. Watch this space for any updates, thanks.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We're always striving to enhance Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. We do not currently have plans to release this feature. There will likely be an existing first party service from your phone provider which can help you locate a lost phone. Please search online to find those services.

You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. For now, we will leave this suggestion open for votes (and closed to comments) so that we can continue to track community demand over time. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes.

It would be a handy feature if your fitbit watch could beep your phone to help find it.  Even though it might have a limited range thru Bluetooth it would still be very handy.

Stepping Up

A few months ago I suggested a "find my phone" feature.  It got over 400 upvotes.  Fitbit responded by locking the suggestion to comments, suggesting that I use my cellular service provider's website to locate my phone, aNFL acknowledging that while  people really want this feature, they aren't working on it and don't plan to.  First, this makes me think that this forum is worthless. Second, since this feature is not even planned, despite its popularity, I'm  not going to buy another Fitbit. I'd rather get an Apple Watch, which doesn't cost a lot more and seems to have many more features (including find my phone.) Not sure how Fitbit expects to stay competitive if this is how they respond to their customers' feedback .

You and about 30 others submitted requests for find a phone, they where merged. And when the comments started getting silly that the thread was locked for comments.

It is still open for votes so if it becomes popular than things could change.

Personally I find bixby Google, and Siri great for finding my phone, I sent the ask them to do something.

Please, for the sake of sanity, there should be a function on the Fitbit that pages your phone and makes it ring to help you locate the phone when lost. Your watch is strapped to your arm, so you pretty much always have it on you, and if both your watch and phone are missing you probably have bigger problems at the moment than Fitbit can help with.

I see this has been suggested and you have rejected the idea, but as I cannot comment on this thread I am letting you know that the very second I find a comparable product that WILL track sleep, heartbeat, AND help me find my phone, this Fitbit goes in the garbage and gets replaced.

So do you want me to replace it with one of your Fitbits, or with another brand's smart watch? Because brand loyalty is for **ahem**s.

It would be very great that Fitbit Ionic should have the “Find my phone” and “connection indicator” on the device itself features on future software release to make it a great phone companion.

I am switching from the apple watch to an ionic.  The one thing I fear I will miss most is the ability to use my watch to ring my phone so I can find my phone. Love this feature. Please help!

I wish my Fitbit Alta HR (or any of them) would beep if I got "away" from my iPhone.  Specifically, if I leave my phone in the car when I get out, or if I leave my phone on my desk when I leave my office, I wish my Fitbit would alert me (10 feet? 20 feet?).

Just out of curiosity, what would you want the alert to do if you wanted to go for a run without your phone?

I’m thinking something like 3 beeps (perhaps settable). Maybe continuous beeps until you tap your Fitbit (perhaps another settable function – one alert versus continuous alerts).

That’s an interesting idea and could be useful, thanks for sharing this suggestion.

Fitbit should have find my phone and notification when out of reach so you don't leave your phone behind. My old Sony one did and I loved that. Very helpful.

It would be a good new thing that a fitbit would be possible to give an alert to you phone if you forgot where you left it in the house. Some smartwatches and hybrite watches have it, just one tab and the phone alarm or ringtone  goes of. Something for the developer team?
