I have been a Fitbit user since 2015. I am a hiker so I like seeing my elevation not just steps. I kept repurchasing the Charge 4 because it had the altimeter but each time I bought a new one the poor strap connection broke after ~ 6 to 12 months (I owned 3 of them) due to faulty design. I finally broke down and purchased the Charge 6 but miss the elevation that you eliminated. Plus, I want to customize the clock face and it is really limited. Who came up with that awful design? I want jus a basic face with time, date and steps on face.
It’s really disappointing when updates limit functionality like that. Have you tried reaching out to Fitbit support or to see if they offer any solutions for older devices..
Week two with my new Charge 6 versus Charge 4 and still missing that I cannot record elevation gain - one floor equaled 10 feet. My Charge 4s (I had 3) altimeters were incredibly accurate. Maybe I could get over it and just use my Garmin to track elevation but what really irritates me is I cannot eliminate “floors climbed” from my dashboard, reminding me everyday that you left off altimeter from the Charge 6. Is there a way I can delete that? Plus, tracking calories is a joke. Again, I have used Fitbit since 2015.

Please put the altimeter back in the Charge series. This is my 4th Fitbit and I was so disappointed that there is no altimeter. I will not buy another one without it.
Hi @JudyYoung. Thanks for sharing your product feedback about including the altimeter to future Charge series versions with us! We've merged this idea with a similar one which can be found here to keep things organized. Please upvote the main thread to show your support.
