Add body measurement feature

Can you please add a feature to track your body measurements: chest, waist, hips, thigh, and arm? I would like see my progress in inches +/-. When I'm not losing weight, I want to make sure the body inches are still going down. Thanks.

You should include a section on the app where you can add body measurements I.e. Waist and hips. I can say for one that I notice this more on me than much of a change in weight

I would like to see waist mesurement tracking.  It is strange that so many things can be recorded and monitored but not this.  I am sure I am not the only one who invested in a FitBit device to help reduce waist size.  I record measurement on a simple spread sheet.

Otherwise, I am pleased with my Charge 2

I agree.  If you are on a long weight loss journey like I am non-scale victories are huge.  It would be great to track body measurements, bone density, muscle mass in the app so that we can track more health data. I see that this has been proposed many times, and I wonder why it's been declined.

I am totally disappointed with the decision to not go forward. I read about lack of server space and administration costs. Is Fitbit going under? If you have $ trouble it's time to merge with a partner who has the measurement app and the server space. UPDATE: I'm glad you reconsidered and re-activated this suggestion as NEW - It's so important for many of us. I was also disappointed because the vibrate didn't work anymore to get me to move every hour.  UPDATE: Had to turn the notifications ON from my wrist - d'oh!  There's too many places to set these things. If a decision is not made by the time I'm ready to upgrade my fitbit, my next purchase will definitely be one that includes body measurements as I don't want to rely on my weight for progress and encouragement.  (I'd rather transcribe my measurements in an app and get progress reports than to manually keep a paper chart as I'm doing now).

When entering your weight goal you have to choose whether you want to lose, gain or maintain weight and select your desired weight. Some people like myself will only have a body fat percentage goal because we're engaging in resistance training whilst trying to lose fat - so could potentially be gaining weight - therefore it would be good if there was the option of just having a bf% as a goal

Hi everybody,

It seems like this suggestion may have been erroneously declined, so I went ahead and reopened it. Apologies for any potential confusion.

Ability to track anything ...just set up a new tile and enable us to name it, set daily goals, and track!

I would love to have a section to keep track of body measurements.  I don't want to use 2-3 different apps to basically track the same stuff.  I love my Fitbit, and the app is wonderful, would just love this addition 🙂

TOTALLY AGREE with need for tracking waist measurement. Waistline size such a tangible measure of progress -- it doesn't lie.  If early in a regime change someone loses fat and gains muscle, they may weigh the same or even gain weight (due to muscle.)  It's depressing for the person to not see results and he/she may give up the effort.  The scale doesn't encourage motivation early on. Keep it simple: see how your clothes fit.  Tighter, looser?  Clothing with a waistline tells us a lot - whether a pair of jeans, a blazer, or a dress with a waistline. ( Wear lycra for exercise only - it masks a growing waistline.)  Keep individuals focused on waist size - men & women both "apple and pear" shaped - and less on the scale.  Fitbit, PLEASE add a waistline tracking feature!

Developers need to allow the manual entry of body measurements into the Fitbit Dashboard, such as waist, hips and chest measurements!  To only allow "weight" measurement is ridiculous.

Would be great if the app had a place we could go to input our body measurements. How many inches we have lost total (whole body) and how many inches lost per section (arms, bust, hips etc...).

I use lose it right now to track this, would love to be able to only use one app to do this!

Body measurements such as waist and hip circumference etc. would be useful alongside weight and body fat %

One of the best ways to measure progress on weight loss is measurements. Please bring this feature back it is important. Weight is only one way to see progress.

I agree with what everyone else has said here. I would actually prefer to watch my waist measurements, along with chest, arm, etc as my weight will change and some of it muscle gain. I would like to be able to track this. Thank you.

Hi,

I would like to see Body Measurements returned to the standard (free) Fitbit dashboard.

I’m someone who puts on muscle easily, and therefore puts on weight, even though I’m decreasing my body fat percentage.

It’s a discouraging result if it can’t be shown anywhere that my body measurements (especially waist in my case) are also decreasing.

Is it possible for this to be returned?

Please add the ability to manually enter more body measurements. For example, in addition to Weight and Body Fat, please provide the option to enter Muscle, Water, Bone Mass, BMI, etc.. Thanks.

Serious disappointment that measurements are no longer included, and that they aren't even considering bringing them back. Why on earth isn't this considered something important enough to be added? I spent a lot of money on my device and the lack of this basic feature and them straight up denying the consideration makes me really consider switching to different device/company.

I stopped using it because of this...They don't care though.

Apparently so. The fact that it's been suggested (and practically begged for) so many times shows how important it is for people. With how expensive my device was I was expecting this, but apparently they don't care that it's prompting people to take their business elsewhere, somewhere where such a basic feature is included.

I agree. Weight does not always indicate a healthy body or healthy changes. As muscle grow, measurements would be a much more accurate way to track those things for those who are unable to track their body fat percentage.
