Add body measurement feature

Can you please add a feature to track your body measurements: chest, waist, hips, thigh, and arm? I would like see my progress in inches +/-. When I'm not losing weight, I want to make sure the body inches are still going down. Thanks.

AGREE. Please bring back the body measurement tracking function - bust, waist, hips, thighs, arms... The benefit to a fitbit is that you can track multiple facets of healthy behavior. Without the ability to track body measurements, fitbit's appeal is diminished. It doesn't make good business sense to make your customers have to look elsewhere for an app to track body measurements.

Please add an option to record waist and other body measurements.

I also agree. I was very disappointed to find that I can't log my measurements. It's irritating that I now have to find some other app to track this when it would be so much more convenient to have it all in my Fitbit app.

Same here...I love the fitbit app and my Charge 2...I have an Excel Chart to keep track of things like waist, thigh, hip and chest measurements.  I would love to have everything in one!!

Please add Body Measurement History ad tracking back to the app!!

UNFORTUNATELY this is the fatal flaw of the Fitbit dashboard!

I have been a fitbit user since July 2012. I have recorded tons of data here only to find it GONE / irretrievable.

I have been attempting to retrieve previously logged body measurements only to find that someone decided that that data no longer mattered.

Even looking at the current "Measurement History" they decided it was more important to report the day of the week it was recorded rather than the YEAR it was recorded.

My weight loss journey is a life long event not just loose 5 lbs to fit into an outfit. I diligently record this info for a reason. The realization that I actually have no control over my information and knowing that it can all be deleted at the whim of some stranger is frustrating.

Will I care what I had for lunch three years ago - NO. But I do care about weight recordings as well as body measurements.

I still regard fitbit as a valuable tool BUT will store valuable weight and measurement data where it is in safe keeping!

I would like the option to add my body measurements for bust, biceps, waist, thighs, etc. Not just weight and body fat.  I don't want yet another app to keep track of just this.  It would be nice to have all the info in one place.

I couldn’t agree more. Simple waist measurement is a telltale sign for many aspects of health. It is a more tangible and motivating tool for achieving better health; body weight does not provide the more important story.

In addition to weight and body fat %, how about body measurements, like waist and hips for people pursuing fat loss, or bicep and thigh for weightlifters. Also include dash buttons so users can track progress toward goals; right now there's only a weight tracker, but for weightlifters that's not fully representative of progress and can be irrelevant as muscle growth offsets fat loss.

Hi New Feature world

Can you help me?

You must have had this a million times since fitbit started, I need to track my waist measurement (ideally more) either in fitbit or in a compatible product.

Many thanks for all you have done up to now.

I know this has been posted about many times, but it is important enough to me that I thought it was worth bringing up again. I've been trying out multiple apps for tracking my health, eating and workouts.  My favorite is Fitbit which is very user-friendly and convenient. However, it really, really frustrates me that there is no way to track my measurements. In my fitness classes, my instructors constantly remind us that it is not our WEIGHT we should be watching - it is our measurements.  In fact, in one program I completed, we were not ALLOWED to weigh ourselves because in the end, few of us lost weight - but we all lost inches and gained strength, endurance, etc. Had we weighed ourselves during this 12 week program, we might have gotten discouraged.  I really find it incomprehensible that Fitbit doesn't see the value in allowing people to track their measurements. I have now downloaded a second app that I have to use for my measurements and journal entries. Boooo. I would so prefer to have it in one app.  I just don't get this decision. And judging by the number of posts on both topics (measurements and journal), I'm not the only one frustrated and disappointed with the discontinuation of these important tools.

I find it quite surprising this is not currently supported. Everyone knows this is an important measure of getting in shape. The fact that you don't have this makes you seem less credible as a fitness focused company.

Can somebody at Fitbit please finally explain, after heaps of requests to return the feature, or add a new feature allowing tracking of body measurements

I.e hips, waist, thigh, arm, neck etc

why are you forcing us to use other apps and programs in the market instead of a one stop at Fitbit?

I own and use the aria scales, and have been a loyal Fitbit customer for many years, but, any health expert will tell you not to rely on scales and weight alone, body measurements are just as, if not more important

I look forward to a reply

I'm adding my vote, though I thought I saw this declined in past requests.  How about even a notepad?

Thanks

I don't get it either. Waist circumference is basically the best simple metric to track fat loss. In many ways much more reliable than body fat scales. Fitbit could even release a Fitbit branded electronic measuring tape. The added data would allow even better statistical evaluation of Fitbit data. I really don't see why this isn't in the App yet.

cedar, and FitBit.  I too am looking for my historic data i laboriously entered for a few years.  What happened?  I can't find my data anywhere.  Is there a way to recover the date from FitBit site or your servers?  Please let us get them back as I have changed a lot and wish to see how far I have come.  Over 75 pounds loss should mean my body measurements have changed.  May I have the historic data?

I also am very disappointed that they took the option to record body measurements off the website.  Unfortunately I did not record them elsewhere so I have no record.  Please bring this option back and also give us access to our old measurements.  When things like this happens it shakes my confidence in the Fitbit system as since I obtained my first Fitbit in 2012 the fitbit website features have steadily been declining.

Would be nice if you could log your various body measurements in the app. IE: Chest, waist, calves, arms, etc.

In order to visualize the data, it would be super cool if the measurements rendered into a parametric silhouette! You could even have them overlapping with different transparency layers to visualize changes.

Can you make it so that you can input manually measurements into Fitbit app or Fitbit.com account?

I am creating a new thread so that the interest in this feature can once again be measured. Moderators: please do not combine this with an existing thread.

The body measurements feature was requested, and supported by the community (I believe it was once a function that was removed). Yet Fitbit has opted not to not plan this feature: why? Given the unreliability of measurements such as BMI, and the various factors relating to body composition and weight loss and lean muscle gain, the ability to track body measurements would be invaluable.

This is a basic functionality, the absence of which is forcing people to use third party platforms, or consider other trackers that include this functionality (like Jawbone). Please give the community what it wants!

Note: I can only select one label, but clearly this is a feature that is ideal for both the mobile and website dashboards

I wholeheartedly agree. As a new fitbit user who is trying to build lean muscle rather than lose weight, I am disappointed that a body measurement tracking feature is not an option. Please revisit. Thank you!

I agree. Please allow us to track body measurements in the fitbit app rather than having to use another. This is very important!
