Add more Fitbit devices to UHC (United Healthcare Motion) Program

This feature is meant to ask for the an increased number of Fitbit devices to be added to the UHC Program, aside from the already included Charge 2.

The company I work for is switching insurance carriers 1/1/20. I love my Versa but was shocked that it is not compatible with UHC Motion. Please add the Versa to be compatible to this program, otherwise I will be forced to switch to an Apple watch.

If only Fitbit would listen to what people needed and wanted. Not asking for the moon. Just commonsense stuff. I know that really just wanted to see the company without having to develop much. They do not seem to have any developers.

My company is switching to UHC and the day before I got the email about the Motion program my wife got a Versa 2. She loves it and would not downgrade to the Inspire HR and certainly wouldn't wear two fitbits. Surely if we can add Spotify to the Versa 2, UHC and Fitbit can work together to get the Motion app on there, right?

I would get a Versa 2 for myself (maybe even an Ionic 2 if it comes out soon), but if things don't change in the next 30-ish days, I'm going to end up with the Inspire HR.

This topic currently has 52 votes and I have to believe that this represents many more than just 52 up-sales from a Charge 3 to an Ionic or Versa 2. There is concrete financial backing for this, so it seems like low hanging fruit for development.

Having been on this for some time my conclusion is the Fitbit people simply don't care. Don't waste your time thinking Fitbit will make any enhancements. I'm enjoying my Apple Watch.

I am not entirely sure where the fault lies with this issue, with Fitbit, UHC, or the app developer but it is frustrating to be a Versa owner and be forced to downgrade my device to have a tracker that will work with this program.

I must agree with BradA0825, seems rather ridiculous to be forced to downgrade from a versa 2 to have a tracker that works with this program.

From UNC Motion:

These devices are chosen by their manufacturer, and we are unable to put our firmware on their other activity trackers; I apologize. We are always working to improve the program, and add new devices.

Fitbit, why can you not add more trackers to the list?

So from what I have gathered. United Healthcare's Motion app connects to Fitbit watch and places their "UNC Motions" firmware" onto the device so the 3 different motion things are tracked. So instead of just reading the data from the fitbit app, like other healthcare providers, they have the firmware placed on the device.

So I am assuming fitbit does not want to allow this firmware on the versa 2. Seems strange to force those of use that want a higher end device to move to an Apple watch instead of making an adjustment to your device. And considering nobody from Fitbit seems to be responding to this post, guess they just don't care. Shame

Yes, Fitbit seems to be slow as mud if any to make a change that will benefit them and/or the customer. They never directly comment or much of anything. Instead they have commentators that do it for them and all they ever say is to vote on it. Now does anyone believe that Apple waits for 2 years or more for voting to happen?  Fitbit was originally on uhc motion with the cheapest models. Then apple came along and is completely passing Fitbit by. Each day Apple pulls further and further in front of Fitbit.

Yea, lack of response or help from fitbit in this post made me realize that nothing is going to change any time soon. I purchased an Apple watch for this program. Another versa 2 customer bits the dust. Wish it actually mattered to Fitbit, but don't think it does. None of this will matter until they become desperate for sales. Guess they aren't there yet, shame really cause this would only boost their sales I think.

I just bought a versa 2 and I'm on the UHC motion program... I didn't realize that the watch didn't support UHC motion, so I will likely ask for a refund and switch to a charge 3.

There needs to be more devices added for UHC motion program. I bought a new versa two months ago and cant wear if I want to part take in the motion program.  Please add the versa watch. I feel I wasted money.

I too would like versa 2 added it's a more expensive watch also a win win. I feel I wasted money on a watch I cant wear because I need money for my hsa.

If versa 2 is not added I probably will leave fitbit and go to a apple watch just saying. The hr watch is crap sorry to say I need a screen I can actually read.

Hi @Goegoe, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to add more Fitbit devices to UHC (United Healthcare Motion) Program. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about it here. Keep adding these suggestions.

Another vote to expand the list of supported devices - can't think of a reason why FitBit wouldn't want every device possible available for this program...

That’s why I switched they don’t care about what customers are asking for

I just purchased a versa 2 and am in love with it.  Then we switched from bcbs and vitality (which accepts versa 2 stats) to motion which does not.  I don't want to switch products and would seriously consider getting the inspire hr and carrying it around in pocket IF I could have two trackers on my account.  Otherwise, like others I might have to leave fitbit for a smarter device.

Versa please. The others are harder to see when your eyesight isn't the greatest.

Please consider adding the Fitbit Versa. This already what I have and I like it a lot and I don't want to spend more money on another one. It just makes sense to include the Versa into your compatible Fitbit family.

I have been holding out hope for a UHC Motion Versa option. My Charge2 has a cracked screen but still holds a charge and syncs fine. It will be four years old in January. Please add the Versa 3 to UHC Motion so I retire my Charge2 and let it live in my drawer.

I love my Versa but I too wish they would add to UHC Motion. Thinking I
may need to switch to another brand so I can have the bigger screen and UHC
Motion.

Please add Fitbit Sense to UHC (United Healthcare) Motion program!

Switched to United Healthcare at the beginning of the year and was excited to start the Motion program. I was shocked and super disappointed with the compatible fitbit options!! How is it that ALL Apple watches are supported, but Fitbit picks only a few?? Not ready to downgrade from my Versa 2 to a Charge and seeing posts on this thread from YEARS ago isn't giving me any hope that fitbit will make improvements 😒 Not sure why Fitbit has to make things difficult. Apple is looking pretty good right now....
