Add more swimming stats (lap times, elapsed time, distance or length) on screen

Upgraded from Ionic to Versa 2. Very disappointed with Swim tracking. Versa 2 lost the ability to keep track of elapsed laps. I have to count manually and that defeats the purpose of a fitness tracker. I was told this is working as designed. I will be returning the Versa 2 to Fitbit until this functionality is added. Going back to Ionic. Need the ability to customize Swim stats by:
- Completed Laps
- Elapsed Time
- Heart Rate   (vote here!)

I absolutely agree 100%. The. Versa 2 must be able to count and show laps as they are completed. Trying to keep count in your head is prehistoric. Please fix this as a matter of priority. Thank you.

Tried twitter and facebook. Twitter support reached out and was basically
worthless.

I loved my versa 1 because it counted laps while I was swimming and showed the number of laps completed on the watch. The "upgraded" versa 2 is actually a downgrade because this feature is eliminated. On the watch all you see is elapsed time. I can get that by looking at the wall clock.

Please put the real-time lap counter display into the versa 2

It’s very clear that we are being totally ignored. Loud and clear.

I fought the good fight y'all, am returning the Versa 2 and going back to
my Versa with a new band 🙂 Pretty sad experience.

Fully concur, swim needs to have time and distance goals. I upgraded to Versa 2 from Versa Classic (which died under warranty). I found it was, in reality, a downgrade for which I paid good money.

The questions are - why downgrade? and when will it be reinstated?

Hi @DMScott. Thanks for explaining why you'd like to see the number of completed laps on your Versa 2. This feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post hereThat way we can keep this board organized, in addition to clearly understanding which idea other members are voting for. Don’t forget to click on the thumbs-up to show your support!

Disappointed that versa 2 does not show live swimming stats the way versa did despite this being a model upgrade. Would be useful to see distance and number of lengths whilst swimming rather than having to wait until it is synced with the app to view this. I don’t need to know the length of time I have been swimming on the watch face at the time of swimming as I can look at the clock in the pool but I do need to know the distance or lengths I have done as I am swimming. Please be quick to upgrade this with the next software as it is a step backwards between versa and versa 2

Please post an update as to when this will be implemented.

I cannot understand how a feature of an older version of the software gets lost when a new version comes out.

Unconscionable.

I upgraded to the Versa 2 expecting BETTER features, not having basic functionality removed.  This is just an expensive stopwatch for swimming.  Please please please bring back the lap counter and distance swam.

Why would the main swim feature be deleted from the Versa 2? It makes no sense.  I've read a large number of complaints from others  online that might not make it to this platform. There isn't much use for a swim function without the lap tracker. Fitbit customer service, please listen. This is the equivalent to having a run app or watch that doesn't track distance or miles as you don't swim looking at your cell phone! Please fix this and replace the feature at the next update. Thank you!

Hi @mrs3122227, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about bringing back the lap counter and distance swam to the Fitbit Versa 2. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here to keep this board organized.

I agree completely. It's now as useful as a running watch that doesn't
track miles or distance!

I "upgraded" from a Versa to a Versa 2. I was stunned to find out that the ability to time laps and detect strokes was gone. When will there be a FW update to make the Versa 2 as capable as the Versa in terms of swim tracking?

I agree completely. It is the equivalent of having a running watch that
doesn't track distance! If they are not able to replace the swim tracking
features asap, I might have to do the same.

It’s now February 2020 and this subject has been ongoing for a long time with no real feedback from Fitbit. Just moderator comments saying they think it’s a great idea.

Just to be clear.  We are not asking for new functionality here! Just a return of the functionality that is available on the original Versa.  One doesn’t expect functionality to be removed from an upgraded version.

@Fitbitplease do the gracious thing and reply honestly.  Are Versa 2 users ever likely to see this functionality restored or is it lost to them forever on this device?

LP66

I agree with this completely. If I do not hear of a likely return of the
main function for swimming, I am going to return my Versa 2 and switch to
Garmin.

@Pete-Fl  well said, I completely agree we need an adequate resolution to this and it should not be a difficult one

More thoughts on goals in the swimming app (or lack thereof)!!!!

Plainly they are not acting on the "feature suggestion"; that in itself is obfuscating and diminishing it's importance. Why is there a deafening silence from Fitbit on this matter?

After 3 months of being ignored I've finally had enough and emailed Fitbit. I bought the original Versa which broke. I got the Versa 2 as replacement. It doesn't live up to its standards and it wasn't what I wanted. So I asked @Fitbit for either my money back or a new original Versa pebble. Will see what they have to say and the actions they will take.

Clearly they don't give a flying hoot over the complaints/requests/feedback received through this forum. Very annoying and frustrating.

I would like to suggest on the versa 2 you add lengths for the people swimming as I feel a lot of people would like this and it has this feature in all the other waterproof Fitbits.

Just got a Versa 2 (on my second one in a week and a half) and found out about the lap counting removal.  I wish I had checked the community before I bought it, but foolishly thought that 1.  it would at least have the functionality of the tracker it was replacing and 2. Such an obvious exclusion would certainly get the attention of Fitbit and be remedied after 5 or 6 months.

Dismayed to see how Fitbit has hidden behind moderators who just shuffle feedback around and neglect to address the actual issue or even advocate for customers.
