Add more swimming stats (lap times, elapsed time, distance or length) on screen

Upgraded from Ionic to Versa 2. Very disappointed with Swim tracking. Versa 2 lost the ability to keep track of elapsed laps. I have to count manually and that defeats the purpose of a fitness tracker. I was told this is working as designed. I will be returning the Versa 2 to Fitbit until this functionality is added. Going back to Ionic. Need the ability to customize Swim stats by:
- Completed Laps
- Elapsed Time
- Heart Rate   (vote here!)

Dear moderators:

This is not a "Feature Request" and should not be treated as such. It's a malfunction in the Versa 2. A function that WAS present and in previous versions and WAS REMOVED from a device enters the category of a malfunction (used to work, now it does not work) needs to be addressed ASAP and not be put in the "nice to have feature request". Before I bought the Versa2 I read a lot of reviews and in NONE of them there was a mention that the function disappeared. I urge to all the angry swimmers that bought the Versa 2, return it if you can, and write about this missing feature in all the reviews you can so people are aware of this before they buy the Versa2.

Agreed... This is not a feature request.... The lap counter is essential for swim tracking, and it was available on the original Versa... Why is this gone?

Lap tracking seems to be there for running in cycling... Isn't it a feature that is used most for swimming? @Fitbit, this doesn't make any sense!

Also, I went swimming with my partner who has an Apple watch, and our lap counters (what i could see after the exercise) were different!

Next time we'll count to see who was wrong!

If you are a swimmer, get an Apple watch, don't bother with Fitbit as for a swimmer it s not fit for purpose.

It worked perfectly fine before...I don't want an apple watch, I like my Android.  🙂

Add my voice to the frustrated and soon to be former FitBit users.

My Versa 1 backlight died and since it’s over a year, of course FitBit wouldn’t replace it.

because I like the app and my previous devices I got the Versa2. Now it’s almost useless to me. I swim, and I swim a lot in open water. I need my yard count.  That was the main reason I upgraded from a step counter to a fitness watch.

Do not call this a swim watch if you can’t provide us with the basic functions of lap and distance counting. That’s false advertising.

holding out hope the 3 has this feature. This one is going back.

Swimming is the only exercise I track, other than steps. The original Versa allowed configuration of laps, lengths, time and showed the chosen stat on the watch face during exercise. The Versa 2 no longer allow configuration and only shows time in exercise on the watch face. This is unacceptable. Swimmers count laps/lengths first and time secondarily. I will be returning the Versa 2 unless this is reinstated.

I totally agree with you and have been complaining for over 18 months about this but Fitbit have turned a deaf ear to updating the Versa 2 and adding the lap counting function.
I have been assured that I could buy a new Versa three that has this lap cutting function on it, but the Versa 2 was originally advertised with this feature  which then turned out to be a lie so I don't trust Firtbit and don't see why I should give them more business and buy another product.
An Apple watch I am told does count laps but you would have to check.

Kind regards,

Thanks Stephen, if the 3 does it they should either upgrade our 2 or offer a
replacement!

unclear how Fitbit works out when a swimming length starts and end - plus not much use for open water swimming

Please add swim lap counting on the Versa 3. This feature was included on the original Versa and would be very convenient for swimmers.

This feature is not just for Versa. It should be for every watch that tracks laps. I have the Inspire HR and I have the same issue.

This definitely needs sorting I am most unhappy as swimming is my main exercise

I am very disappointed that this has been taken away, I swim often and rely on this to know where I am. I thought I was getting an upgrade.

AGREED!!!! Please please please add the swimming distance to the clock face to the Versa 3! I was excited to get the updated version, but very disappointed that I can't monitor my distance when swimming 😞

I'm thinking the lap counting would be just a simple software update. I don't understand why this feature is missing.

Me neither but it's unlikely as we have been asking for months.

Fit bit just aren't bothered!

The original Versa counted laps reasonably accurately and showed them on the
watch, and this is what we are asking for.

They obviously haven't listened if the 3 still hasn't got it!.

I for one will not be having another Fitbit! So disappointed as I like their
computer/phone software.

My 2 is only 7 months old but I almost wish it would break!

Well, I've had enough! After over six years as a Fitbit user from the One to the Versa to the Versa 2, that's it. It's clear that Fitbit is squeezing out functionality from the Versa and won't be changed.

I returned my Versa 2 and am purchasing a Garmin Vivoactive 4. It has all the features of the Versas and more. For swimming, it not only counts lengths and lets you set a custom length but it also gives metrics on the efficiency of your stroke. That's just for swimming. It has a new heartbeat sensor that also measure O2 saturation, especially while you sleep. The battery lasts 4-5 days, depending on GPS and other settings.

Wish I could return mine! Do you know how the apple compares for swimming

The Versa has amazing swim tracking features. Can these features please be added to the Versa 2? The Versa 2 has virtually no swim tracking features. I'd currently rather wear a Versa in the pool that my Versa 2.

I see people complaining about this in both Versa & swim trackers like the Charge 4 since 2018. I'm a code developer and I wonder why is it taking so long to implement something so easy and that was already implemented in other versions?

Just think about how many users you have lost for something that would take literaly 2-3 days of work, it's crazy! So many people have given it back or didn't even buy after reading this. You are basically losing most of the swimmers community.
