Add more swimming stats (lap times, elapsed time, distance or length) on screen

Upgraded from Ionic to Versa 2. Very disappointed with Swim tracking. Versa 2 lost the ability to keep track of elapsed laps. I have to count manually and that defeats the purpose of a fitness tracker. I was told this is working as designed. I will be returning the Versa 2 to Fitbit until this functionality is added. Going back to Ionic. Need the ability to customize Swim stats by:
- Completed Laps
- Elapsed Time
- Heart Rate   (vote here!)

This board is so depressing.

Years later and still people are falling for the marketing and expecting the Versa 3 to do at least as much as the Versa 2 for swimming.  Even that is basic for a swimmer.

Fitbit will happily move our posts around the board, but not once has someone from fitbit either said that it will be changed to work for swimming or that it is their strategic vision not to support swimming exercise in real time with any useful data, or even that they have made hardware choices that mean the Versa 3 is not capable of such use.

Overall feeling is that we are not worth even a reply.  It is no wonder so many move from this post to Garmin or Apple.  So sad.

Exactly my problem too. I get sidetracked and forget how many laps I have
done and can't check it until later.

I don’t need it to be all that complex. I'm not a serious swimmer, but it is my preferred type of excersize. I'm trying to get back to being a bit fitter again and my goal is to try and increase the number of laps I swim each time I go, however I struggle to keep track of how many laps I've done. Which is where my original versa 2 came in handy and when the battery finally conked on it I thought the versa 3 would be a great upgrade. I'm now considering selling the Versa 3 and looking into alternatives. Which is a shame. I have always liked fitbit. But If it hasn't been fixed in two years it's not likely to ever get fixed. And the fact that there isn't even a comment on here from a representative after all this time speaks volumes.

You advertise that charge 5 can be worn while swimming. You can't even see the display when it's in swim lock, and it doesn't track heart rate or distance. It is nothing but a blank screen until you are done swimming and then look at your app. This is not helpful. Take care of your swimmers please

Hi @KLCZ, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about having the option to see distance while swimming mode. I've moved it into a similar request. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

100% need to add laps swam rather than a timer on the Vera 2

Really dissatisfied and thinking of returning and getting my money back unless an update is coming. Please let us know, lots of people are asking for this feature. You will lose customers otherwise.
very disappointed Fitbit user right now 😡

Will the new versa 4 fix this issue?? will we get live swim lap tracking back???

I doubt the Versa 4 will count laps, but I'll wait and see what the reviews say. The Versa 4 doesn't have a gyroscope on board and this is usually how watches count laps, but maybe Fitbit will come up with a software fix. We have asked for this feature back and fitbit just seems to not be interested in providing it.

Time to leave me thinks!

Their customers are asking for it and the competition counts laps and even kick sets, so one would think they'd at least attempt to keep up in swimming. I love the fitbit ecosystem, but they don't seem to love me back.

Just bought an Apple Watch this week for the very reason that this has been asked for repeatedly. There are lots of votes for this feature, but no action. It worked on Versa 1. Seems Versa 2 and 3 got a downgrade!

It’s so frustrating. So many requests and no action. I have actually bought an Apple Watch now. Got bored of waiting!

So I'm led to believe the Sense has it - will the sense 2?

Track swimming laps on Versa 2. This was useful data on my old Versa 1.

Completely agree! I have just bought a sense 2 after having an Apple Watch for years and found the lack of stats and laps displayed sorely disappointing

i been hearing is versa 4 and sense 2 this feature is still missing

Swimming lapse used to be clearly visible while swimming on the Versa-1.

The "upgrade" to Versa-2-4 and Sense-1-2, removed this useful detail and is only available to view on the app!

I raised this issue several times and so did many swimmers. Fitbit is not listening....

I do not understand why a useful feature is removed in an "upgrade"!

I just figured out that neither my Sense 2 or the Charge 5 I bought my wife will track my lap goal and display swim laps on the watch face while swimming. Throughout the years, my older Fitbits did this.

I give up, just bought another smartwatch with lap counting on the display. I think we swimmers are not as important. The feature was there on the versa 2 but was lost on the versa 3. I love my fitbit versa 3 but this was a real dealbreaker

What watch did you get in the end? Most the ones I can find that have lap counting are really expensive.

I got the Sense 2,

Still no swimming 🏊 laps information on the watch screen that was useful information while swimming on my first Versa 1.

The information is available through the Fitbit app as in the attached screeshot. However, by the time time I get to view this derail on the app I am normally high and dry. A bit too late to add a few laps.

Hopefully, Fitbit will listen 👂 soon and restore the swimming 🏊 laps information while swimming 🏊 on the watch like it was on the Versa 1 or better

I've had 3 different Fitbits over 7+ years: Charge, Alta, Versa, and Versa 2. I'm fed up with the downgrade in swimming features and not including community requests for real-time swim lap count in the recent Versa 4 and Sense 2. I think I'm switching to Garmin too.... I have LOVED Fitbit forever, but I need this data. The Versa had it and I LOVED that feature... could even set it to buzz at me every 125 yards so I could keep track of where I was in my set. But only showing the time??? Really?!?!?

It looks like they're working on things, but who knows if or when these features will be introduced to us consumers.

Please a watch that tracks swim laps, in real time so you can see where you're at while you're still in the water. Versa 1 does this but no other as far as i can find out.
