Add more swimming stats (lap times, elapsed time, distance or length) on screen

Upgraded from Ionic to Versa 2. Very disappointed with Swim tracking. Versa 2 lost the ability to keep track of elapsed laps. I have to count manually and that defeats the purpose of a fitness tracker. I was told this is working as designed. I will be returning the Versa 2 to Fitbit until this functionality is added. Going back to Ionic. Need the ability to customize Swim stats by:
- Completed Laps
- Elapsed Time
- Heart Rate   (vote here!)

Did you keep the box and receipt? Luckily I did and took it back to BestBuy
and they swapped it out for the original Versa that still has the lap
function. They had to order it and ship it to my address but I was okay
with that. Good luck.

I have it boxed up to return on the way home.  I think I'll go with something else.  My Versa 1, while it worked, eventually succumbed to the screen falling off.  With Google's acquisition of Fitbit, I have a bad feeling about the direction of the company.  They don't seem responsive anymore to customer feedback.  I've resisted the Apple Watch because it's more than I need, but if Fitbit can't provide the minimum of what I need, I will have to move on.

Totally agree... I am afraid my will succumb to similar fate too. Good
luck.

I have receipt and box but I had worn it so best buy wanted $ 45 restocking
fee, so decided to keep it.

You’re kidding! Wow I had worn mine and swam with it and the swapped it out
no questions because so many people have complained about Versa2. I’m
getting a pair of goggles that show laps in the goggle.

I have recently bought the fitbit versa 2 for swimming. The watch only gives the time during my swimming session. Very disappointed. I hope fitbit will come with an update soon with the lap counter or distance on the watch during my swimming session.

Hi Fitbit,

What is your response to this thread?

I've spent time on two lengthy phone calls regarding this. Are you going to
remove pace and distance from running as well?

Thank you,

I know I am hoping .

I know it's so annoying as it was on the versa .

Hard rate track is active during swimming, so just show it in a tab of the swimming exercise. If it is not as accurate as it is in dry conditions doesn't matter for me, but it will be great to relate laps efford during each style of swimming.

I am so very disappointed with my Versa 2 that I bought 1 week ago. It is completely downgraded and everything I wanted for the workout is removed. I was inspired by my friend who has Versa 1. I had Versa HR since before and now I wanted to upgrade to the newest. I feel fooled. When the hell are you going to roll out an upgrade on verse 2 so that all we who wrote in the thread and Everyone else who bought verse 2 get what we paid!?  I am so very disappointed!!!!!

I upgraded to a Versa 2, when my Versa stopped working, Fitbit allowed me a 50% discount but I didn’t realise the Versa 2 did not record lengths on the clock face as the Versa did. This seems a backward step to me & I was very disappointed.

Ditto to the comments I've read. I've just been sent the Versa 2 after my Versa stopped working and I'm so frustrated that I can no longer see how many laps I've completed during the swim. It seems ridiculous that this functionality has been downgraded to the supposedly better Versa 2. If you can do it on the Versa there should be no reason this isn't available on the Versa 2. Please please can this be rectified. I've had to buy a very simply manual counter as I'm training for a 100 length event and there's no way I can keep an accurate count in my head! It's like going for a run and not being able to see how far you've run! Crazy!!!! Also the message 'keep going' or whatever it is, is just plain annoying!!!

So I just noticed one more thing that adds to the annoyance and frustration.

Since the most recent update of the Versa2 I seem to keep loosing anything between 1-2 length (which equals to 50-100m in a 50m pool).

And it's NOT because I miscounted!!!! I did a full training session with a coach and squad team this morning. The program was a solid 3km ... well, guess what!? My Fitbit Versa2 only clocked 2.9km. What the ... ????

Is @Fitbit EVER going to listen to us and fix this problem???

My first Versa just died during a swim (less than six months after I got it). I went ahead and used the discount to get a Versa 2 instead of just having Fitbit send me a replacement Versa under my warranty. Imagine my disappointment to discover that the Versa 2 does not show laps on the watch during the swim -- only the elapsed time, which is essentially useless since there is a clock on the wall. Please restore the lap tracking function in an update for Versa 2, so you can see laps while you swim, just as you could on the Versa. Surely that is possible. I note that there are perhaps dozens of similar requests on the swimming board.

The information on the versa 2 states that this watch, like the ionic, is suitable for swimming. While swimming, the ionic indicated the number of lanes, meters and time on the screen. The app also provided an overview of the different strokes I had swum. Unfortunately the versa 2 only shows the time on the screen, in the app the number of meters. That is very disappointing. Can the ionic swimming software be installed on versa 2 at a next update? It is not the case that only runners, mountain bikers, workout athletes wear a Fitbit versa.
Swimmers wear / buy the versa 2 as well. Now apply the right software, the versa 2 is also talked about enthusiastically in the swimming pool.
Thank you for your answer and effort.

Hi @TerrySwim, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about showing lap count on the Versa 2 while swimming. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here to keep this board organized.

sadly it seems no one is really taking any notice of all this feedback. Only moderators giving platitudes. This will be my last Fitbit unless we see the changes requested. Its not that hard. i certainly don't recommend the versa 2 to anyone who asks, particularly when I know they are regular swimmers.

When will Fitbit be fixing this idiotic programming for the swimming feature?

Another one who is very disappointed with the lack of lengths, distance etc on the Versa 2.  I thought it was me not setting it properly but could not find a way to get the lengths up on my wrist whilst swimming.  As other people have said, I am hardly likely to get out of the pool to fetch my phone to sync just to see how many lengths/laps I have swum!  Very poor and needs immediate fixing.

I had a Versa that had very reasonable swimming help. Showed Meters, lengths, time etc. My Versa died in the swimming pool. I went for Versa 2 (Told they are succeeded by Versa 2) so I went for Versa 2. Right at the get go, swimming had 1 metric which was 'time'. FitBit had 'updated' the Versa 2 swimming to ONLY TIME.  I complained on another thread and was advised to complain on this thread. So when is FitBit going to give us back the functions that were a part of "old" Versa.

All I see here is very insincere platitudes from FitBit Moderator - words such as "what a good idea" etc. Total insincerity!!!!!! Now tell us when the "old" will be restored for us swimmers.
