Add your own exercises to the shortcut list

Could it be possible to make exercise shortcuts completely customizable?

Currently I can't add cross country skiing to the list for an example.

Also it's not possible to use workout as this doesn't measure distance with GPS, stride is not usable for distance measuring for this sport.

Option one would be to make it possible to add your own exercises to the shortcuts, in this case cross country skiing with GPS measuring.

Secondary option would be to add workout with GPS as this is the only post workout  name changeable exercise.

Best option of course would be completely user changeable shortcuts as the options currently are very limited and it would leave the hassle out post workout.

Yes, skating (with GPS) would be great.
I would add, for developers: List below with optional GPS. Also for the custom named exercise.
exerciseType can be one of the following pre-defined exercise types:

  • run
  • treadmill
  • hiking
  • weights
  • cycling
  • elliptical
  • spinning
  • yoga
  • stair-climber
  • circuit-training
  • bootcamp
  • pilates
  • kickboxing
  • tennis
  • martial-arts
  • golf
  • walk
  • workout
  • swim
  • or a custom exercise name.

An of course, there’s no need for GPS for some exercises.

Users ask for preset exercises to use, for the exercises they like. Rather than create a huge list of preset exercises, allow users to create their own. Allow the user to specify if GPS should be used, or not.

For example: I could create a preset for indoor rowing (no GPS) and outdoor rowing (with GPS).

I would like to add these 4 activities to the list of exercise shortcuts: Zumba, in-line skating, curling and aerobics classes.
I recognize that there are so many more that could be added, so I would prefer that you allow customization.

First Steps
Instead of requesting additional exercises and waiting on fulfillment by the Dev-Team. As a fitbit user I want to specify my exercise by my own (which sensors e.g. steps, heartrate, gps etc.), in the mobile and web app, with a simple editor. Then I could add this exercise to my device shortcut list for manual selection.

On the sense 2 it includes a list of exercises to choose from on the watch.

However some of the exercises are not available but I can edit the exercise on the app.

It would be good if you could edit the exercise on the watch so you can select the right workout from the start rather then having to edit the workout title after the workout.

Right now there are only few exercise modes available and none for winter sports. This is very limited. Putting training with other exercise name and then modify that is ridiculous. User should be able to modify exercise mode shortcut so modifying exercise info after exercise would not be needed. Also lack of exercise shortcuts is known issue.

I want to be able to add custom workout types i.e. Skateboarding on my fitbit Charge 6

I can add custom activities through the Log within the fitbit website, but not on the app, and the custom workouts do not transfer to my fitbit charge 6 device.

Nevermind, this question has been asked before. The answer is to use the 'workout' mode and re-name the activity after. This doesn't turn on GPS tracking unfortunately.

Using another mode such 'Outdoor Workout' seems to do the trick.
