Alerts for low or abnormal level of SpO2 on real time

Hi, given that I'm not a doctor so this idea should first be discussed with medical persons, for what I've read, the Coronavirus determines a pneumonia and for what I know, a pneumonia results in breathe difficulties so MAYBE the Sp02 sensor could be useful to register and warn about this. So, the idea is to show the Sp02 values not only during sleeping time but 24h, even better showing the value or an alert in case o anomalies on the bracelet itself.

If we have technology to help the fight against this virus, let'us it!!

I just bought my first Fitbit because I saw it has an SpO2 monitor which I need. Turns out the clock face only measures overnight.... I guess I'll be returning this and getting a watch that can actually show real time SpO2. I'm just writing to let you know you're literally losing customers for not enabling something that your watch can already do.

really want to make a big investment in the FitBit ecosystem with a Sense watch and Premium subscription, but there's just no reason to if critical, basic features like this - which are commonplace on competing products - are never going to be added. As dozens of people have expressed, FitBit is resting uncomfortably in the grey area next to outright false advertisement by failing to provide these features.

I agree that real-time SPo2 data should be made available on all models that have the sensor.

The Versa and Sense models now have watch apps/faces that display the info - I don't see why the Charge 4 can't do the same... other than maybe Forgot would like us to buy a new device.

I am an endurance athlete and have asthma, so this information would be very useful. Additionally, because I don't use my GPS, my "Fitness Level" is way off... I can run 27 miles fine, but it says I am "fair to average"... since that score should be using oxygen levels to determine someone's fitness, recording real time o2 data would greatly improve accuracy.

Also, given the current pandemic, it seems like a no brainer that should be fairly easy to unlock and make available for all users who have a model with a sensor.

I want to add to the voices asking for a report on ongoing SPOreport. This can make a difference for a number of conditions including Covid, flu, asthma, COPD, etc. People are not always aware when their oxygen level falls dangerously low - I know that I am often unaware of the extent of my asthma, and this is also a big danger for Covid. As said earlier, a standard legal disclaimer explaining that this is not a medical report should be able to protect you. This is valuable to a lot of your customers and will make a difference toward sales, don't take a "no" from corporate lawyers, just get as complex a disclaimer as necessary..

Please allow the Charge 4 to report live data on SPO2 . The Charge 4 already has an oximeter so why not provide live data from it. Data from the oximeter can help improve fitness and health. Thanks.

Hello, I'm looking for a health smartwatch and with this specific function.

At random times in the day, I get my oxygen drops from 95% to 85% and I can only notice it when I start feeling drowsy or a bit groggy, for this reason it would be nice to have a feature that gives you a warning when X% spo2 levels is dropping

Hi @n4cho, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see warnings about breathe difficulties on real time. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

Hi, @YojanaFitbit. Can you please seek an immediate update on this? We’ve gotten a “let’s hope” response many times over many months, and we’re moving into the darkest days of Covid now *still* without a response. Every day, almost as many Americans die of Covid as did from the 9/11 attacks. We’re past the time for waiting. The need is urgent. This could  lead to saving lives NOW.

Thank you.

Reading on the subject of optical measurement of oxygen level shows that two different types of led are required. Fitbit device only have one of the two which does not provide accurate measurement.

Using a fitbit device to monitor oxygen levels is streching beyong the real capability of the devices.

Reliable and accurate Oxygen level mesurement device can be purchased for less than 99$. A little more for a device than can also measure your temperature.

Using a Fitbit device as a covid infection device or an health care device would be worst. With false cofidense sentiment, less distanciation would result in greater covid propagation.

I doubt this feature is ever coming to the Charge 4. Fitbit must not have confidence in the either the sensor or their algorithm to display this data. If they could have done it they would have by now. Interesting to note that the product page for Charge 4 makes NO mention of SpO2 monitoring now. I'm pretty sure it used to.  Based on the comments in the forums, I think many people purchased the Charge 4 because it is/was marketed as having an SpO2 monitor. I know I did. Their SpO2 graph is worthless.  I think we've been had.

Thank you for all of you gratitude and supportive comments thus far.  It is nice to have an advocate to voice our opinions to the higher-ups of your organization.  However, due to the total lack of updates from said higher-ups, I feel it is necessary for us to go over your head and communicate directly with the entities responsible for answering our questions, as it is clearly something over which someone of your position does not have responsibility.  Please post the contact information for those you report to and then we can contact them directly in order to get actual viable feedback on our inquiries, comments, suggestions and so forth.  This is not a reflection on you or your abilities as a liaison between customers and corporate.  It is an acknowledgement of a disconnect between the two, one that clearly lies somewhere beyond your reach.  So let us reach further and be the headstrong persistent lot we are to get some clarity on a years old matter.  Please?

Research shows that Fitbit devices may provide early warning for covid before symptoms manifest due to changes in heart rate variability. Is this a feature that you are looking to introduce for your users? https://www.engadget.com/smartwatches-detect-symptoms-covid-19-140107922.html

Dear Sir,

Do you have any deadline for allowing live data for SpO2, I bought 4 sense for the family after they get infected with covid 19 as they needed to monitor O2 levels all the day but I was confused that it won't provide live data!!!

Covid 19 patient could llise O2 in any moment and they need direct support

Please provide us if they will provide or no the data and exact date?

As someone with severe asthma who has had COVID, being able to see my blood oxygen level 24/7 in the app would be invaluable (I have a Charge 4 but have had Fitbits for around 7 years). Please implement this ASAP! Even if it's not perfect, it would be extremely useful right now with the pandemic at its highest yet.

Hi @VismayO, thank you for taking the time to share this idea about the option to have real time SpO2 value . I've moved it into a similar suggestion.  since this helps to keep the forums more organized. You can also vote for this other idea posted in the Feature Suggestion board.

If there's a blood oxygen sensor on the Charge4, the information should be available to users on a continuous basis, not just for sleep hours. Not sure what type of sensor is used for the currently offered "Estimated oxygen variation," but if it's based on red and infrared light, then if should be capable of providing the data on demand.

I would love to see this added as a feature. I have bronchiectasis, which is a lot like COPD. My oxygen levels can drop as low as 85 sometimes; I have 20% lung function and will need a transplant someday, it’s just a matter of when. I specifically got the Charge 4 because it had an o2 sensor. I guess I should have researched more to see that it only works when I’m sleeping. 🤷🏻‍:female_sign: But it would be really helpful for me to see my o2 in real time like I can with my pulse!

My $30 Amazfit Band 5 allows me to take SpO2 readings on demand. My $150 Charge 4? Not so much.

If the sensor exists, please push a firmware update to allow us to take these reading WHEN WE WANT, not just while we sleep.

The user community has been asking for this feature to be turned on for 3 years.  Do not see this happening for Charge 3 or 4.

Now that Google is involved, hopefully the next version will be full of the features Fitbit did not see fit to include in Charge 3 and 4.
