Allow Customers to choose between Dashboards

In the latest update of the Fitbit app, the Dashboard that customers interact with daily underwent a huge visual downgrade. It is far less appealing to look at, and harder to quickly see where you are with your daily goals. Please allow Customers to choose their dashboard, similar to how customers can choose their fitbits clock faces. It makes sense to at least allow a choice between the new version and the old version of the dashboard. PLEASE consider this.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

I agree. I really hope they revert back to the old layout or at least similar... or allow us to have a choice. It’s just not user friendly or motivating at all. There was something so nice about seeing all the blinking colors and confetti after a workout.... now there’s only these weird bubbles that are so boring.

I do not identify as a guinea pig and am offended at being treated as one with this recent, new, outdated dashboard.  I did not knowingly or willingly opt in as a beta tester.  Why would one subject oneself to that headache?  This is like the New Coke v Coke Classic and the new dashboard needs to go the way of the new coke. Coke had less true competition and admitted their misguided idea.

fitbit needs to do the same and scrap the new, hated dashboard.

The new dashboard requires more touches and scrolling of the screen to see everything with the old dashboard display. It provides less information.  And Discovery could be presented with fewer graphics. I want data not art.

I can’t believe that you do not have an option to refuse the new.

Shame on you Fitbit.

Hello Fitbit Community,

I was told to post my feedback on this page so everyone could see it and make possible changes. I mentioned that the new app look should be available for a certain amount of days or weeks and if we dont like it we can change it back to the old one. I have a link picture attached of the new design that we cannot change back.Screenshot_2019-08-14-14-48-27~2.png

The new interface is terrible, no idea why it was changed without customer consultation.  I don’t find it user friendly at all, the old version was way better!

Its very important these days that companies listen to 'the voice of the customer' and give them to tools to make your product functional and simple to use. I think Fitbit listened to this and said 'I know lets do the complete opposite!'

You took an app which worked perfectly, looked sharp, modern, edgy and funky and then turned it into an ugly, bland, unsimple monster. I used to love checking my app in the morning for my sleep and logging my pints of water as I had them but now I have had to uninstall the app and just use the webpage dashboard as its semi normal looking and you can see a lot of stuff on one page like the old app dashboard.

I don't wear my fitbit with pride anymore, the user experience is gone, its just another silly fitness tracker with a crap operating system for you phone, and my god the market is flooded with them so congrats Fitbit, you are now no longer the market leaders in my eyes. Time to look into Samsung or Apple watch and see what their apps are like.

Hello All and @AlexandraFitbit

I too am sad to see the roll-out of this new dashboard, which is difficult to read, has lost its graphic identity and infographics and simple info at a glance.

Scrolling down a list of information has taken the app backwards not forwards.

Graphically, it's lifeless and too much focus on top panel, whereas the main data (personal) is now off the screen.

Was so much easier to read with the coloured graphic tiles and infographics within them.

Would have like to have had the option to change back to old. No preview of what we were expecting. Definitely not an improvement.

What is Fitbit going to do about this? Will the interface be improved based on our comments? Will the old interface become available again in the meantime, whilst waiting for a better option?

Thanks L

If I was a developer involved in the change to the app I think I would actually be embarrassed with what has been released.

I don't understand why you would change the front end to something which doesn't match the back-end information in terms of graphics colour and font etc.

Cost cutting?

As a retired Tech guy I realize that I am much happier without any of this junk in my life.

I only use the device to track activity and sync to MyFitnessPal on an iPad, so it’s a peripheral.

Now I guess I need to find a different tracker since the interface for this has become extremely annoying and nearly unuseable - and I don’t need annoying in my life.

I never use “portrait” mode like smartphone users - fact is all I have is a dumb, cheap, flip-phone that is mostly left at home so I’m not bothered by it. Life is too short for annoyances and constant interruption.

And I have no interest whatsoever in “Discovering” anything.

I am dreading the day I open the app and find that I am being forced to the downgraded “upgrade”.   I too feel that Fitbit needs to delete the “new” app and revert everyone back immediately and apologize for the misstep they took.

I am totally dissatisfied with this new dashboard on the fitbit ap. I can't imagine how many hours you guys spent on this to have it turn out so bad. And what is with this "option" button some people are talking about? I was never given an option to use the new dashboard or not.. woke up this morning and there it is and it is horrible. I've been searching the net everywhere for a "fix" for this and there doesn't seem to be one other than going with a different device.. it's getting to where it's battery life is getting shorter anyway.

OMG!  I *never* would have taken the update if I had known what was going to happen.  It's way too small, too complicated, difficult to navigate and edit.  Bring back the old format!

I can only echo the many posts on this subject.  One minute I had a user friendly app, the next I did not.

For something that is seemingly desperately unpopular - if you read all the comments - it is baffling that you have not provided an option to have the display you prefer.

It is not an upgrade.  We pay fairly handsomely for our devices - please give us a dashboard choice instead of forcing an unwanted and user unfriendly display on us.

I feel like my experience was hijacked. I hate the new dashboard. It’s ugly and doesn’t do what I want. No celebration. No green for achievements. It just makes me want to stop using my Fitbit because I don’t want to look at the ugly interface and get mad again every time. I want the previous dashboard back.

These reviews are shocking to say the least how can Fitbit afford to not take action on this.

I absolutely hate this new look. So much that I opened a twitter account just to tweet to Fitbit about it and I’ve scoured the app to find as many possible ways to communicate thus to them. It’s that horrible.

Just like everyone else, I can’t stand the new look. I haven’t had a chance to use it on a walk, but I’m hearing that it won’t automatically count my walks as exercise?!  What?!

Im definitely switching to Apple or another brand ASAP. How arrogant that the developers are not even taking this feedback into consideration at this point? How many people have to be angry about it?

It was a bad idea. You made a mistake. You can move forward and let everyone know that you are working on a new version with the look of the last one. If not, you will be losing customers.

I’m in the middle of trying to lose weight and the Fitbit/app was helping tremendously. Now it’s not motivating and it won’t track my walks?

Ahimsa2: the watch and app still track steps as aleays. Walking is all that I do and mine is working fine. Bonus: I kept playing with it and got the usual icons. I had to save it separately in order to keep it. Not perfect, but until they switch back, that's what I'm doing.
