Allow Customers to choose between Dashboards

In the latest update of the Fitbit app, the Dashboard that customers interact with daily underwent a huge visual downgrade. It is far less appealing to look at, and harder to quickly see where you are with your daily goals. Please allow Customers to choose their dashboard, similar to how customers can choose their fitbits clock faces. It makes sense to at least allow a choice between the new version and the old version of the dashboard. PLEASE consider this.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

The latest major update to Fitbit Versa watches was an interface disaster.  It also "bricked" a number of functions such as the ability to drill down in heartbeats for prior days or choose centigrade or Fahrenheit to watch-displayed temperatures (mine now shows centigrade and is, therefore, functionally useless).  Other users report other "bricked" functions.

Request that users have the opportunity to choose which interface they use ... the old one that worked or the new one that was a major downgrade in capability.  Fitbit already has this capability for dual displays since the new user interface was forced to my Versa unannounced over a week ago, although my wife's Versa and a friend's Blaze still have the original interface.  Other users report that their watches are rotating back and forth between the old and new user interfaces.

Please roll out the capability to choose their interface to the Fitbit community.

Yes the old one (bottom one) has a grid pattern which is hard to see because u only have 2 things instead of like 4. When u have 4 or 6 u have boxes arranged in a grid whereas the new one (top one) has them in a list ugh. Please bring back the grid interface!

I’m with you - I want the old version back. More prominent, more colorful and generally works better. Please

I hate the new dashboard as well.

How do you get excersize and sleep to show on new dash board?

Thanks

Couldn't agree more that the new dashboard is an unpleasant surprise and a step backwards in terms of easy use. Why 'fix' what wasn't broken - please return the choice to those who want it, now!

Mine did the same thing. I was so excited and then it went back to the new one. Disappointed.

Hi there -

They've asked us to bring this topic up and we've been giving them our feedback.

The reality is I read the reviews Apple's App Store for Fitbit, and the developer basically said they're not going back to the old version.

So, face facts, this is a dead topic, and we're not getting the old version of the app back.

So, dear community managers, maybe you should close these threads instead of keeping us hopeful we might get it back some day and give us the painful truth.

I have to tell you this has been a terrible experience.

As a couple of people suggested, I've left a one-star review in the Apple Store for the Fitbit app. I've been a very long Fitbit junkie, but I'm now over it, especially as Fitbit pushed out the mobile UI update without notifying me and isn't interested in feedback from its customers. Very sad -- time to upgrade to an Apple Watch.

This is what the chat help person told me as well ...I’m hoping they come to their senses though

Yes same here - have had Fitbits like forever but this is a game changer. I wish I knew about this change before I bought the iconic - feels like a bait & switch 😞

I think the threads should stay open, it's the only voice for the community. Just because some one off dev says they aren't going back, doesn't mean that decision is final. I'd encourage people to continue voting here, and if you've bought your Fitbit online, go leave a review discouraging others from buying it until  the company fixes their rampant, productline-wide bugs, and learns to communicate with their customers. They are no longer the end all be all of fitness trackers, wether they know it or not. Its surprising tech review websites have not picked up on all the issues going on with fitbits product line.

This morning I posted a status to the community for tge first time which snapshotted my Dasboard. phone updated my Fitbit app by itself. I don’t like the new version at all. I would like to be able to choose which dashboard Style I want! The old version was a lot easier to use and see daily goals. Please make this an option!

My question is "Why?" Why is the List rather than Grid format the only way forward? What does this Update add that is supposed to be better than the previous version? Why doesn't Fitbit sync properly with my MFP app any more? I've been loyal to Fitbit since 2012. I am extremely unhappy with this change.

I finally figured out what Fitbit had in mind with the new, downgraded phone interface.  I was playing with my Versa watch ... and lo and behold, the summary on the watch has the same anemic icons and summaries for data categories as the new user interface on the phone.  In the latest (and probably fatal) software upgrade, Fitbit simply imposed the anemic watch interface onto the phone!  The major difference between the watch display and the phone display is only the ability to drill down on the phone to enter data.

Please, Fitbit, there is a reason that the graphics and displays on the Versa watch are anemic.  The real estate available for the watch face and the iPhone face are different by orders of magnitude.  Why "dumb down" the phone to match the limited watch user interface and experience?  The watch interface is so small it is almost unreadable, which is why I never use it.  The latest phone update crames so much data into the phone screen that it is likewise now also unreadable with equally useless graphics.  Fitbit, take advantage of the greater real estate on the phone to offer detailed, usable graphics ... the same well-thought-out graphics Fitbit just trashed in the latest update.

Although I've owned three Fitbit watches and gave out six more as gifts over the last three years, I'm now seriously looking at the Apple Watch 4.  Apple is not dumb enough to "dumb down" an iPhone by transposing a limited watch interface onto their phones and calling it a day.

BTW:  I looked at Amazon reviews for the Fitbit Versa and the Apple Watch 4.  The Apple Watch 4 has 7% one-star and 81% five-star reviews; the Fitbit Versa has 21% one-star and only 52% five-star reviews ... and this is before the latest dysfunctional software update.  This difference is telling.  Fitbit, please pay attention to your user community while you still have a company.  This new smartphone phone (mobile app) interface downgraded to resemble a simple watch interface is "killing" Fitbit watches as exercise trackers.

The "tile" dashboard is awful!  It's not user-friendly when trying to see stats, whether today's and especially past days and they are so big you can't see as much on the screen at a time. The UI doesn't offer enough user controls; I can't put some of the stats that are most important to me in the upper level. It works better on a tablet, but who carries one of those around with them all day long?  To see how far I've walked, how long I've been active, or how many floors I walked - I have to click extra buttons!  What the heck?

The previous "linear" dashboard was perfect!  I could put all the things I couldn't care less about (food intake, calories burned, calories left and how much water I've drunk on the bottom so I don't have to spend precious seconds of my life scrolling to see the information that is important to me!

Please, please listen to your customers and offer a choice.  I want my linear dashboard!  On top of the awfulness of the tile dashboard, it won't even work on my phone!  You've limited it's device list so severely that many people can't use it anyway.  Way to go!

Hi @Hwriter , Way up the top of this page there is a Thumb widget to click on. You'll probably need to have logged in and accepted the Terms & Comments conditions again, though.

I updated my Fitbit app having no idea that it would completely change the layout. It new update is horrible, it has a massive banner of an add for premium up the top, is incredibly slow and visually nowhere near as pleasant as the old one! Can we please have an option where we can choose between the two dashboards or just go back to the old one because the new is not good. I didn’t pay a few hundred dollars for an app with a bad looking dashboard that’s incredibly slow to navigate. Old dashboard was 1000 times better.

Hi @RoseMichaela! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing. I've moved it into a similar request. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.

The "New" dashboard was just forced on me today.  For the record, I hate it!  If I could revert back to the previous dashboard, I would do it immediately. With the old dashboard, I could see everything I needed in a glance.  The new dashboard is a ultra flat, white-washed mess that looks like something Google designed.  It's ugly and, most of all, not nearly as useful.  I just received my first, and probably last, Fitbit (Ionic) 3-days ago for Fathers Day and I'm already starting to regret it.

Hey Fitbit, you should allow users to choose their own dashboard!
