Allow Customers to choose between Dashboards

In the latest update of the Fitbit app, the Dashboard that customers interact with daily underwent a huge visual downgrade. It is far less appealing to look at, and harder to quickly see where you are with your daily goals. Please allow Customers to choose their dashboard, similar to how customers can choose their fitbits clock faces. It makes sense to at least allow a choice between the new version and the old version of the dashboard. PLEASE consider this.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

The new update is awful and no longer represents a ‘dashboard’ where you can see everything at a glance - it now resembles a list. At least give us the option of choosing the tiles if we prefer it that way.

Hi @Yatzpye, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the new dashboard with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. At the moment it is not planned to implement it. Nonetheless you can still add your vote.

I utterly regret updating the Fitbit App.

It is not user friendly.

It does not allow you to easily see stats.

I could not for the life of me find where to adjust the silent alarms.

Having the list view (in the new version) as opposed to the table view (in the old version) means you don’t get to see as much information on the screen without scrolling.

It’s a very bland interface, which in turn makes it harder to quickly see stats.

It is definitely a visual and functional downgrade.

Please consider giving users the option of which dashboard they prefer.

Yup, I agree.
The colours are really dowdy and not very futuristic. There are no cheerful celebration animations to give you that extra lift when you are lying on the ground gasping for breath. When you feel exhausted, these little things really matter.

The use of screen space is not very efficient and scrolling to get to almost all the options is annoying even if you put the most used ones at the top. Set your phone to biggest possible text size and you will see the problem straight away. The tiles system had two options to a line whereas this has one.

The whole thing feels as if it undervalues your effort. No stars to celebrate the completion of a goal, just a few bland words. It's depressing to look at even when your stats are good.

Please, can we get skins or themes to make this thing more human, more engaging, more encouraging?

I never thought I'd find myself saying the last dashboard was better, but it's oodles better than this one.

Hello Fitbit Community,

I was told to post my feedback on this page so everyone could see it and make possible changes. I mentioned that the new app look should be available for a certain amount of days or weeks and if we dont like it we can change it back to the old one. I have a link picture attached of the new design that we cannot change back.Screenshot_2019-08-14-14-48-27~2.png

Just started with the new dashboard today 😫

To say I hate it is a strong emotion - but I do!

I would love to go back to my old one.

I might have to follow my husband into using Samsung at this rate!

Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing @SunsetRunner! We look forward to hear what other community members think about having a period of time to accept or reject the new app look. I hope you will get many votes! Robot Happy

When I was given the chance to change to the new app I refused because there was the caveat that you could not go back. Being able to revert, within a week (or even an hour) would be great. I would have liked to check out the new app look and see if I could make it work for me. However, with all the complaints I read, I'm glad I chose no.

My app was just upgraded to pull down the newest look and layout Fitbit put together this week.  I am so sad over everything I just had to share my point of view. I'm so sorry. I wish I loved it so this would be a different message.

The coloring which is tied to the branding is so blah. Even when I hit my goals separately as the day continues it's still the same lukewarm I wouldn't call it blue. There is no celebration when I hit my workout minutes as of 7 am today. No bright green just blah blue.

Instead of having every category at my fingertips to get inside I have to scroll down these horizontal banners. They are not appealing to the eye nor easily accessible in one screen pull out.

I'm so disappointed and recognize it is what it is and wanted to share as it was on my mind.  Hopefully as Fitbit continues to evolve maybe there will be a whole battery of changes to the app look in the future. Thanks for letting me share!

I regret accepting the new android app layout.  Bad move not giving preview a new layout prior to accepting permanent change.

I thought that it was crazy that you were prompted to try the new look but given no preview of it as well as no choice to revert if you didn't like it. Especially since it would still be the same app (so is this something that's one-way on the server side?).

I'd heard enough people disliked it, and not for aesthetic reasons but because of usability (that it was harder to see all of your data), that I declined, and having seen the image posted above I feel I was correct to do so. But do I now have to refuse app updates in case the next one forces this on me?

So yes, giving people the chance to review and decline if they don't like it seems good.

Thanks for letting me share. Bring back the old app. Functionality, look, feel all of it awful. Not inspired and I really appreciate understanding I'm not the only one.

To Fitbit,

If you really want to do something good, Please revert back to the old view, its really frustrating, ugly. I'm a user who used to open the app every hour to check the stats, now i hate to open the app. If it continues, i may lose hope and throw away the fitbit and move on.

Please take it as serious and do take necessary action. I hope all users deserve this.

Thanks.

Hello to all the unhappy fellow Fitbit users.

What I am going to suggest on the Community pages is that people put a negative review directly on the app site, if the people drag their 4 star rating down the the app developers may start listening the their customers and end users.

Not expecting moderators to like this suggestion but I think if we don't act where  the developers work I feel they will not take our concerns seriously.

Agree ! It would be a recommended improvement, available for many apps. And the number of 'returners' delivers useful information for the developers and marketing team.

Great idea! Put my feedback on the app via review and commentary.  Thanks for the suggestion!

dumb design, Fitbit. Why change from a full “at-a-glance” dashboard to one that requires scrolling to see all the data? Did you ask your to developers to try to find a bad UX?

Tx62

I hate this new design! I used to be able to find everything I needed at a glance. Now I spend more time scrolling up and down than ever trying to find what I'm looking for!  Give us back the old version please!  Or at least make it so those of us that don't like it can switch back!
