Allow Customers to choose between Dashboards

In the latest update of the Fitbit app, the Dashboard that customers interact with daily underwent a huge visual downgrade. It is far less appealing to look at, and harder to quickly see where you are with your daily goals. Please allow Customers to choose their dashboard, similar to how customers can choose their fitbits clock faces. It makes sense to at least allow a choice between the new version and the old version of the dashboard. PLEASE consider this.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

Smiley Sad I so want the old version back. The new one is a pain in the bum. I would love to revert back.

I wish I’d looked at this community before doing the upgrade. If you haven’t done it yet.. Don't! It’s absolutely awful, looks awful and doesn’t even log your steps as exercise unless you enable it to track your location. I’ve asked for it to be reversed and told no, tough so, unless FitBit are willing to listen to our feedback I will be buying a different make and telling people not to go anywhere near fit bit in future!

Unfortunately I changed the view and I am extremely disappointed - while the battery percentage is a nice touch, the rest is awful!  Please give us the old design!  the colors are horrible, you can't even distinguish between goals attained and missed.  It is the most boring design ever! There is no celebratory victory and now quite frankly I have no desire to even look at it.  So disappointed  - I used to love wearing my Alta and following my progress... not anymore

Hate the new look. Please go back to the one most people liked. I see mainly complaints about the new look. Why have your customers hate it to the point of looking for a different fitness tracker. Apple is looking better every day!

I find the new look difficult to read quickly,  I would like darker writing...that said, I just spent almost 45 minutes with Live Chat trying to figure out how to set the alarm...crazy.  To have to go to your Account page and then to the Fitbit Charge page to set a silent alarm is ridiculous.  It should be right on the face where it can be changed with ease.  I am not sure why the change was needed.  It certainly isn't an enhancement.  This is my fourth Fitbit with an Apple Watch in between,  I like the Fitbit better but this new application isn't intuitive.

Dear Fitbit interface designers! As an Ex designer and now visually impaired user of your product -I am absolutely shocked that someone in an office signed off this new dashboard layout! The colours are insipid. The fonts are small. Everything about the new experience is worse than the previous one! We expect new and improved not new and much worse! Please offer the option to revert or possibly offer different palettes or layout options.this is not just aesthetics for me but as a visually impaired user you have not considered me at all! I am a long term user, assuming you’ve used a focus group to try the new design can I suggest you include the visually disabled!

I completely agree. The colors are faded, font weak, and vertical layout difficult.

Along with the fact it took me over an hour to figure out how to see the alarm.

The new update just stinks. Return to the original.

I absolutely hate it. Please give us the option to switch back.

Nothing is clear & it looks messy. I need my glasses to look at it.

Therefore I am not logging in as much. Looking to upgrade my watch soon, as a result of this change I’m looking at other devises such as Garmin

The new interface is poorly designed, awful to look at, flat and uninspiring.  In fact, it gives me a headache.  If Fitbit intended to actually "upgrade" the look of the app, like many others have already posted, have a trial period for feedback to decide whether it is a popular look or not, or allow users to at least have the option to return to the previous interface.  A warning banner saying we can't return to the previous interface and have to just accept the new one (without getting a look at it first), was odd to say the least.  I figured it would be an "improved" experience, when in fact I feel like i've been propelled back to the early 2000's when i'm looking at this thing.  Maybe I should also get rid of my smart phone and get a flip-open phone again just to compensate??  I've earned plenty of "badges" but that's not going to keep me from ditching my Versa and upgrading to an Apple Watch or a similar competitor.  Wake up, Fitbit!

I'd also like the ability to trial use the new dashboard with the option of changing back.

Having said that, when I first started using Fitbit about three years ago, we had a different dashboard. I resisted changing to the new (which is now the current) dashboard which I saw on my daughter-in-law's Fitbit because I liked mine better. It eventually got to the point where mine was changed whether I wanted it or not. I have a feeling this new dashboard will be the same. It's coming whether we want it or not. I hope I'm wrong.

I too wish I had read this forum before downloading the new version.  The old one made me happy....the colours were bright and energizing.  I loved the fireworks when I hit my goals.  This one is flat and boring.  I’m with others who are considering a different fitness tracker.  I need incentive and this version is NOT doing it for me.  Please let us have the old app version back!!!

As with others I do prefer the old version on this app.  I also am having trouble syncing my devices to the app since updating it.  Anyone else??

As of the Fitbit app update my ionic will not stay connected to my iPhone. It’s frustrating because I use the ionic for messages and calls rather than having my iPhone in my hand at all times but I cannot update my stats on the app given it will not connect.

  • Please tell mefitbit doesn’t take long resolving these issues.
  • Next time I’ll stick to my usual ways and not update the app through the app suggestion; I’ll wait until there is an actual update through the App Store.
  • Disappointed with the new app so far....
  • I have also went through all the processes I’ve found online to correct the issue but it continues to happen. This final attempt is not working at all.

The app update is independent of the updated dashboard.

The old app, which was highly functional, had nothing wrong with it. Fitbit must have employed some geek who has never worn a Fitbit, and hardly ever gets out of her/his chair to exercise. The new irreversable App is very hard to use, has no functionality, and is enough to drive me, and other Fitbit users to a competitor.

When I complain, here's their reply:

"We want to share with you that after you switch to the new app experience, you can no longer access the old Fitbit app design. Over the next few months, the old Fitbit app design won’t be available, and the new app experience will become permanent."

Hi @LarrySoccer, thanks for taking the time to share why you would like to have the option to use the old Dashboard in the Fitbit app. Sorry this is not a option anymore, we really appreciate your feedback.  Since this feature suggestion already exists, I’ve moved your post here. This is not currently planned at this moment. You can keep adding your votes to this suggestion so we can keep tracking this request overtime. Learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. I hope to see you around.

I completely agree about the colors, etc. I, too, wished we’d known what we were getting!

Same experience and opinion as everyone else. SO disappointed. I loved the previous version and since the change have started using my Charge 3 only for monitoring sleep. Absolutely hate the new presentation. Can’t imagine who might have thought it an improvement. As for not giving us a chance to review the new format.... one can only assume that you knew that nobody would choose to go for it if they saw how it looked. Thoroughly disappointed.

Before: You could see it all one one screen.

Now: You have to scroll down.

Before: Just hit the add and you can easily customise your dashboard. App is neatly organised with easy access toolbar along the bottom.

Now: Pointless “discover” screen that for some reason puts dashboard editing, challenges, and coach into one difficult to navigate screen.

Before: Sleep stages on the dashboard and nice green animation for when you reach your goals.

Now: someone puked on my Fitbit dashboard.

Let me change back please!
