Allow Music transfer from phone

In the near future, please incorporate the ability to transfer music directly from your phone library. Preferably, this feature would even be available offline.

One grievance I have here is that it can only be done, online, with a computer installed with the FitBit software.

It seems minor, but, there are plenty of reasons this feature is troublesome; for example:
-can’t be installed on a computer (administrative rights on a work computer?)
-or not being able to connect to the internet (when traveling)
-or the connection is terribly slow.

This is a must, nothing too complicated and should be standard in 2018. Fitbit please start listening to your users and make your watch useful and how it should be from day 1

Return it. We have been complaining about the same issue with the ionic since September. Not a **ahem** thing has been done.

Nothing will be done. All we got was we will take this into consideration in October. Nothing after that. Pretty stupid flaw to even begin with.

So many comments and requests for a solution to this problem. I’ve spent a lot of money on my phone, my tablet and Fitbit products and I have to dig out my old Dell Laptop only to find that it doesn’t support iTune anymore. So now I’m out of luck apparently. Unbelievable. Good thing I bought this joke of a watch from HSN so I get the 30 Day return. I have a few days left but I think I’ll be returning.  Bummer

Yes, definitely agree, the current way is a painful process.

I love Apple products as does anyone who has tried them, however I am not in love with the price I pay for them. I gave the Versa a try and sadly, the inability to sync music from my Mac desktop (on the LAN, no Wifi) is a deal breaker. The watch is in the cradle and the cradle is plugged into ....why I can't see this device and interact with it directly like just about every other device? Its a no-brainer. If FitBit is looking to cut into the Apple Watch market share, it has to be more flexible and user friendly. One bad experience like this sours a consumer to your product for years.

Really need this. Just got my Ionic and can't believe I can't transfer music from my phone.

@Mbibbey

Return it! This issue has been brought almost a year ago and the only thing we heard was in Jan saying "under consideration, but no permanent decision has been made".

So I think everyone in this category should just tell people not to purchase maybe that will get thier **ahem** attention.

Return it return it return it

I currently run a Chromebook, and am disappointed that the option of using my chosen laptop to transfer music to my new Versa is not available.

An android app to support this would be great, because it would take care of us Chromebook users, as well as folks who don't use a PC, but rather handle everything on their mobile.

I also don’t have windows 10 and would like to transfer music. I would also like to see amazon music as a third party and more banks (Natwest) set up to be able to pay with my watch. Thank you.

Completely agree. I am messing with loading up a windows 10 virtual machine just to do this cause I can't do it from my iPad...One of the main selling points for the Versa is the phone free music IMO so the process to use this feature should be much more user friendly.

I'm a Chromebook user and to see how this hasn't been fixed in years is absolutely embarrassing. I literally have to dig an old laptop just to transfer audio. Thanks a lot.

@atropin258

You'll need a windows 10 brother. If not dont dig it out. Return it if you can. I would if I could

This issue was brought up in September of last year and has had 540 comments but nothing has been done to fix it. It is obvious Fitbit likes it the way it is and has no plans to fix it or keep us updated on their progress. I will never purchase another Fitbit product and will tell everyone I know to stay clear. Customer Service used to mean something!

Not only that, but there's no order history on the website in your profile.
So you can't check your transaction history

Anyone know how to get a moderator to look at this? We have the one statement back in January, and that was just "under consideration"  how can something like this be under consideration, when in my eyes when developing the fusion and other products transferring music to phone would be on the table already.

Stupid and sloppy on the developers. I work at targets periodically and have already told a few people of this issue when they saw I had it. There responses "I dont have a computer", my response, no music, unless you pay for deezer, or pandora prime!

Sorry @Robbietot moderators are not responsible for what the developers do. At best they can pass your comments on.

Of course you can always tag a moderator.

No offense but isnt that the point of these sort of forums?

I finally gave up. I just switched to an Amazfit Pace and am returning my Ionic. With the Pace I can transfer music very quickly to the watch through a USB cable. I understand there is 3rd party software to transfer over Wifi, but I haven't tried that yet. I was so impressed with the speed to adding my music and podcasts via USB that I love it. I also get an always-on screen and a good pool of 3rd party developers (watch runs on Android) that are developing cool features and enhancements.

Good bye Fitbit. I really wanted to like the Ionic. It just doesn't seem like you are prepared to support it.

@Mbibbey your saying that you can connect a cable from your phone to the Amazfit Pace to transfer music.

Sorry @JoyE74 I'm not sure what point your referring to.

This board is to present your thoughts on what you would like to see from Fitbit in the future. This board is where the developers look for users input. In general it has not been a two way conversation.

Moderators are hear to moderate, they are not developers and that is why frequently a moderator will add to a request, "let's hope so. I would also like to see this festure".

@Rich_Laue The cable is from my PC to the watch. Not from the phone to the watch. The point is that it is very painful (and most of the time doesn't work at all) to get music onto the Ionic. I haven't tried to figure out how to transfer from the phone to the Pac, but it is super easy from the PC, and enough for me to ditch the Ionic in favor of the Pace.

That's why iIasked @Mbibbey this request is for the option to transfer music from the phone. We already are able to transfer music from a PC, therefore I was not sure of the point of your post about the Amazfit.

So if I read you correctly, with not having a windows or Mac computer, iIstill will not be able to transfer music from my phone with the Amazefit.
