Allow Music transfer from phone

In the near future, please incorporate the ability to transfer music directly from your phone library. Preferably, this feature would even be available offline.

One grievance I have here is that it can only be done, online, with a computer installed with the FitBit software.

It seems minor, but, there are plenty of reasons this feature is troublesome; for example:
-can’t be installed on a computer (administrative rights on a work computer?)
-or not being able to connect to the internet (when traveling)
-or the connection is terribly slow.

Please fix the music transfer problem, at least open it up so a third party app could fix it. I only have a work computer, don't have music in it, this is very frustrating. Being able to Bluetooth transfer files directly write be ok or to use wi-fi directly from another device would be ok.

Yes please..... transfer/sync music from phones and tablets.  While you're at it, how about transferring music from Chrome OS devices.

Chrome is a problem on it's own @redwoodrider. Chome OS is a web based operation system, and while a browser is able to connect to a USB connected device, the browser  is unable to connect to a Bluetooth connected device like a Fitbit.

Until the Chrome OS gets an update to allow web based programs to connect through Bluetooth, Fitbit will not be able to write a Chrome version..

Only just gotten my Ionic like couple months ago, never had the time to go about downloading songs to the watch, UNTIL TODAY. Imagine my frustration, finding out only after having bought my wireless earphones, that i would also need to purchase a Bluetooth dongle in order to transfer music to Ionic from the PC. COME ON!! Why can't we get to transfer music from the phone app instead of having to use the PC. Had i known this earlier, i could have opted for the Samsung S Gear instead. Please find a way to fix and make this music transfer easier for all of us.

Thank you

I think I have the next problem in the line... I have a desktop computer and managed to get music on it, but my versa does not recognize the Very Expensive wireless headphones i bought when I figured out how to put music on it. It may not be expensive to some, but Powerbeats3 are nothing to sneeze at on a gas station worker's wages. Oh, and the headphones, though more geared to Apple products, work just fine with my Android based phone, so I know it's not the headphones.

Oh this would be game changer to be able to do this. Being able to put podcats on my watch with a couple clicks dang!

Listening to daily podcasts is a hassle when you can only transfer them over the computer

Not everyone has a computer. I listen via my android phone and download all my music from my phone. Would be GREAT if FITBIT was the first watch that allowed me sun. from your android phone. ☺

I agree that Versa and other users need this feature. Everything else works great. But this is most frustrating. Thank you.

Yes please! I have suggested using my phone for the transfer of music from the beginning! I love my Versa but can't get music on it.  This was a big selling point for me on this watch too. Now I can't get my music on it. This is so frustrating. Come on Fitbit.. fix this for all of us!

I do not have a computer. I do everything on my Android phone. This be a big plus for FitBit users and future buyers. Ty. JARN

I totally agree! I keep getting the icon saying to load music from my computer, but I have an iPad. I know many people who don’t even have that and use only their iPhone for everything. It makes products like the Versa frustrating!

Would be nice if I could load music from my iPhone or iPad. I really don’t want to buy a laptop so I can get the desktop version of Fitbit to load my music. If I had of know this I would have not bought the versa. Can’t even use Spotify. So music is not useable and kind of wasted. Bought this new versa so I didn’t need my phone while jogging. Totally disappointed 😔

I wouldn't hold my breath... Fitbit is not as it was 5 years ago.

Like Apple, they built a solid base of loyal customers who will continue to buy their expensive products regardless of screw-ups.

So, yeah... maybe in a next model with a lot of "we heard you" cheers.

In a mean time: 1) Restart your PC; 2) Restart your Ionic; 3) Restart your phone; 4) Drop all WiFi networks remembered by Ionic; 5) Repeat steps 2 and 3; 6) Reconnect Ionic to a WiFi; 7) Turn off all bluetooth devices in 1 mile radius; 😎 Repeat step 1; 9) Spit 4 times over your right shoulder, turn 3 times clockwise and 2 times counterclockwise; 11) Initiate transfer; 12) Repeat steps 1 thru 11 until you get a desired result.

EDIT:

3 months gone since I posted this comment and more than a year since original suggestion.

Fitbit OS 3 was released. You still need PC or Mac to do it and it's still a lengthy and unstable process.

@russianbear66

Lol sob I started reading that and was like yes here we go. Then I read more lol.

Do we have to turn clockwise or the watch itself?

But in regards to what bear is saying (not bear grylls) might as well stop with this thread it's been almost a year and half. They don't give a **ahem**. Also as someone who is getting a second replacement, do not take the watch swimming. Especially if the place keeps the pool high in chlorine or pH levels. It has **ahem**ed up my watch battery sensors. Even after I have washed it thoroughly right after a swim.

Sorry @Robbietot I don't understand your post, you say that we have been asking for 18 months for an option to be added to a tracker that was released just under 12 months ago.

Please read the FAQ on suggestions again, Fitbit has never promised to implement every suggestion that has been suggested. One drawback is that many users still don't know how the store music on the phone.

BTW my computers run Linux and I'm not installing windows just to load music on my wrist.

Yes I have added my vote, but I'm not going to add a comment that hashtye majurity of a toddler having a tantrum.  This is the best way to have the thread shut down for further comments.

@Rich_Laue I'm guessing you work for Fitbit. You dont think it was stupid of them not to implement phone to watch in this day and age? Especially when others are able toox even 50 dollar smart watched. If not, then you are just as dumb as they are! (Hey make fun of me, come right back at you)

Lol toddler. You sir,  are a joke. I spent 300 dollars on this watch, mainly for the swimming aspect and to put music on it.  Never did it say until later you need windows 10 computer, or prie memberships, never would have bought it.

How about the red sensors that Fitbit stated that are supposed to register your sleep patterns even better?

We done here, cause I'm dont with you chief!

Sorry @Robbietot it sounds like you haven't been hanging around very long and haven't browsed through the getting started board. There is nothing in my name or sig that points to me as being a Fitbit employee, that would be nice. However to the right of my name is a link to my Fitbit relationship. You are more then welcome to click on it. So yes your guessing but don't have anything to back until your guess.

When first introduced there was no mention of how music would be added to the ionic, in fact originally Pandora could also only be added through a computer. Yes another suggestion, I had forgotten about this, that has been implemented.

The red sensor is for the measurement of the Oxygen level in the blood. So yes when the sensor is turned on, it would be possible to add this measurement to the sleep analysis.

Can't believe having your personal music on your fitibit feature was released WITHOUT being able to send music via bluetooth. Ive used smart watches years older than my new ionic and they had this feature built into the first software release.

Please prioritize this request ftibit!!!

@DB0, I've transferred my Pandora music through Bluetooth. It was 3-4 times slower than going through Wifi but it did work .

I too am not sure what your saying, and what it has to do with transferring music through the phone.
