Allow Spotify offline on Versa series and Sense

After long time Fitbit released a Spotify app for Ionic/Versa (for now only on Versa 2). See this suggestion now marked as solved.

However this app does not allow to download music for offline listening (for example while working-out).

Hence this new suggestion.

Dish ionic /fitbit if you want spotify offline music. This is a basic feature that will never be rolled out. Fitbit doesn't give a **ahem**.

I will look for another watch. Better for sport!

Agree!  Been pushing for Spotify on Ionic for years, but is useless with ability to sync music offline.  I BOUGHT THE IONIC SO I COULD RUN WITHOUT MY PHONE!!!

Good to finally see the Fitbit team acknowledging the presence of this thread, and the demand for this feature. My request is that they continue to post updates, etc. I know that I will be a lot happier if I know what is going on, then if we are left in the dark again.

So keep up the good work fitbit, I guess?

I wonder how long they will keep this thread 'under consideration'. It took them so many years to change it.

I am a happy Fitbit HR user since several years. I am planned to update to something smarter, but Spotify offline is a killer feature for me. Unfortunately, even the latest product iteration Fitbit Charge 4 does not support offline Spotify. Also no statement still if support will be added later. I now ordered a smartwatch from the G company (no, not Google :-)).

Yes! Nobody had downloaded music on their computers anymore! I want to use just my watch on my run with Spotify and not have to carry my phone.

I would like to be able to listen to my Spotify app on my Versa 2 with my bluetooth headphones. As of now I need to have my phone nearby for a wifi connection but the whole beauty of having a watch with spotify is so I do not have to have my phone with me while I am running. Why would a watch need to have a spotify app if you have to bring your pho

So what your really asking for is the ability to store Spotify music on the tracker.

Please vote on the current suggestion.

Hi @StefanieLynn, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to download offline music from Spotify on Versa. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about it here. Keep adding these suggestions.

Part of the reason for purchasing the Ionic GPS watch was for the music, however Fitbit requires to upgrade the software in order for it to work. Please hurry and create the upgrade so people can listen to music without carrying their phone! Thank you.

Fitbit, it is over a year now.. Most users of ionic want to leave their phone at home. And listen to music on their ionic as advertised. Most people use Spotify for their music. Please, just work together with them!

I'm quoting "SteviaA" he said it right and still havent seen a response from Fitbit yet:

"Can someone from the Fitbit team confirm:

  1. You are developing capabilities to listen to spotify music offline as per every single request in this feature request?
  2. What are the estimated timelines to deliver for each watch and version (where appropriate)?

I am an Ionic user, but all your users of different watches also want the same information.

As this has been requested for over 2 years and you have delivered a Spotify capability that is pretty much worthless for nearly every user, at least an update on what you are working on and roughly when I think is the least that your users should be told."

Likely every single person on earth

owning or considering owning a fitbit wants the Spotify offline music option. My wife bought this for me as a gift thinking it had that option as from the writups it's not super clear. I like the product and would love / recommend it if had offline music.

Fitbit I look forward to your reply addressing the above questions.

Please and thank you.

The Fitbit Ionic is falsely advertised on the Fitbit website! I expected to be able to download spotify playlists and play them on my blue tooth headphones! When will this feature come out?

Hey Fitbit - any news on this?

Yeah I feel like I just wasted money on the ionic (which I am now giving away to my brother). I made the mistake of assuming it would allow to download music for offline play through spotify. If I read this first I would have definitely not have bought the ionic. 😕

Please add the facility to download playlists to my ionic so that I can exercise with just my headphones and my watch.

Yes! Please make this happen, it would be amazing!

Today I made my decision.

I want to download music on my watch so I can run without my phone. The sole purpose I bought a fitness tracker with GPS is I can leave my phone at home. But.... I still need my phone for my music now.

So I am putting my Fitbit aside and will buy the Garmin Vivoactive 4L.
Fitbit has had enough time to implement this feature. There are several alternatives on the market now en Fitbit is not willing to improve.

Goodbye Fitbit!

Deezer, pandora, and any audio file on your computer can be loaded onto the watch

BikerMouse87
Stepping Up

@Rich_Laue, I understand that those are available options.
But...

I do not have Deezer (I don't like it), Pandora is not available in the Netherlands (I also don't like that) and I haven't downloaded music anymore since many years. Who still download music anyway?

Spotify is the most used application for streaming music. I want to use spotify on my watch.

How long will this take to considerate. this is an insult to customers.

Do we have to sit on our knees to beg for this basic function??
