Allow multiple devices on the same account (Sense/Versa series, Inspire, Charge & Luxe)

Be allowed to have both a Fitbit Versa and a Fitbit Ionic on the same account so you can easily switch between them.

This is a super annoying “glitch” and even more frustrating that it’s been an ongoing issue that is STILL being overlooked. Not being able to pair two “smartwatches” because of the app gallery feature is ridiculous. Dosent it make more sense for the company to fix this Issue for their users AND pave the way for them to sell more smartwatches?

I almost can't believe this hasn't been fixed yet.

This is not a suggestion.  It was a previously working feature that was broken in 2017, FOUR YEARS AGO, with the introduction of the Ionic.

How long does it take this company to fix a bug?   If I had an issue open this long I'd be fired...  Years ago!

This would be most welcome. I have the ionic and Sense. The only option at the moment is to go through the “setup a device” option each time.  Hardly convenient.

Seems like this was done in 2015:

However when I try to add my new Versa 3 it asks if I am switching with no option to choose no.

ChrisSwim ...

Yes, that's correct but the issue is newer than that.

It affects devices that access the App Gallery - only one such device can be attached at a time.

The problem is made worse by the fact that, if you change devices and later decided to swap back, you have to set up from scratch again.

I want to use two devices at different times of the day and this restriction prevents that.

Good to know, I was going to try it and see what happens, but if only 1 of the devices can get apps from the gallery it's useless.

Cant believe that issues such as this have lingered for so long, hopefully Google can now help sort out the software side, provided they don't swap out Fitbit OS in favour of WearOS ?

It bad enough that I need 2 devices for development purposes as the new Versa3 and Sense watches use a new version of the SDK which Fitbit have made incompatible with the older watches, so now need 2 watches for development testing purposes and will also need to use 2 phones and 2 separate accounts!

Making a new SDK incompatible with older hardware is definitely not something that competitors have done or will ever do as they seem to care much more about the developers using their platform and customers having the widest choice of apps, hence why they are ahead of the game and will always be.

Found the help article:

https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1715.htm

So the word "Fitbit Device" in the article only applies to the non-smart watches, ie. ones that don't use the app gallery. Looks like when they introduced the first smart watches in 2017 they didn't implement this feature for those.

Playing a lot of sports like basketball and golf require free movement of both wrist. While you can put two trackers on an account the only clip based trackers cannot be placed on the same account as many of the high-end devices such as the sense. Running, walking, etc. it's fine but when I get really into a sport wrist devices are prohibitive.

Hi @iBEW, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to allow multiple devices on the same account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can read more about tips on how to wear your Fitbit devices on the Help Site.

I hope to see you around.

I currently use 2 Versa’s and 2 Versa 2s. I use 2 accounts. When I got the Versa 2’s I thought I could put one on each account. I found this was not possible.

It looks like this has been an issue for a long time. When will it we fixed?

I have the Inspire 2 and am awaiting my new Luxe. I want to have the steps from the Inspire 2 added to the steps on my Luxe (when I get it) so there is a total of daily steps. If I have to have two accounts this won' t keep track of the daily steps as a total.

Welcome to the ongoing message where your hopes of a fix for this goes to die.

I would encourage anyone who seriously wants FitBit to resolve this to look for FitBit ads on Facebook and other social media platforms and every time you see an ad where you can comment, do so, asking when they will fix this problem.  Posting in the fitbit forums doesn't get public attention or the attention of prospective buyers - posting on a social media ad has a better chance of leaving a lasting impression with the idea that this should be fixed.

Anyway, I'm sure my post will be deleted momentarily, because that's what fitbit does when one encourages others to protest.

The Fitbit app needs to be updated to allow both a Versa 2 and Charge 4 to be added to the same account. I use multiple Fitbit devices depending on what I'm doing. I was able to have both my Charge 2 and Versa 2 on the same account.

Got a Charge 4 and an Ionic. Would very much like to use both with a single account without any fuss.

Good luck, it will never happen without replacing one with the other in the
app every time. Fitbit is uninterested in supporting more than 1 "smart"
device on each account.

What a shame. You would think they would like to accommodate customers who might buy several Fitbits of different varieties.

I have a Luxe and Versa 3. I want to use both. My app only allows access to one watch. Pls do not delete my other watch. Allow Users to update/use more than one watch as needed.

I have a Charge 3 and now the new Luxe. I cannot use both when before I was able to switch between my Alta HR and Charge 3. Please fix this so we can go back and forth between devices. This was a great feature with older Fitbits and I am sure others are having the same concerns.

I have a new Luxe and Versa 3. One is a tiny tracker and one is a bigger screen smart watch. If Fitbit doesn’t allow me to use both, I will pack up the Luxe and return it. You’ll lose the sale.
