Allow multiple devices on the same account (Sense/Versa series, Inspire, Charge & Luxe)

Be allowed to have both a Fitbit Versa and a Fitbit Ionic on the same account so you can easily switch between them.

This is an old suggestion that STILL needs to be done.

I just purchased a Sense and still want to use my Inspire HR when I bicycle. I don't want to risk damaging my Sense while riding.

We all have good reasons to have more than one fitbit device.  This should be a joy to fitbit as it means more money.  For years now users have been asking for the ability to have more than one device on an account.  This was once possible but was taken from us.  We want it back.

I have asked nicely, I have used logic, I have shown the economic downside to not making this chance to the app, all to no avail.  Fitbit shows how much they do not care about their customers by ignoring all this anger and frustration for years.  They will never get another cent of my money.

Fitbit has given the same cookie cutter answer for years. I don't think they are EVER going to fix this problem.

Totally agree- bought a Luxe for everyday tracking but still want to use my Charge 4 for running / biking- crazy this wasn’t accommodated from Day 1!

When someone has multiple watches, don't make them set it up again every time they change watches. Just have it connect with Bluetooth and be set.

Hi @ErinLeighW, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to allow multiple devices on the same account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.

I have brought this up o. Twitter, on this forum, talked to customer service and even emailed the president of FitBit.  The only person that seemed to take any concern was the customer service person I talked to.  Never heard back from the president either.  It appears that no body at Fitbit is concerned about the loss of customers.  I have been a user since 2013 with over 6 different devices.  I don’t think I can invest in Fitbit anymore, since they won’t invest in their community.
I received one email saying they are working on this, but no date will be committed.  I have been able to get a One  other devices to work, but that is it.  Maybe someone other than moderators like @YojanaFitbit@MatthewFitbit, and @LizzyFitbit should look at how the community feels.  These three just move things around and hide them.   If FItBit cannot do what we are asking, just tell us they can’t.  Don’t string people along anymore.  Set the expectation rather than letting us come here with some glimmer of hope.

I've been reading some of the comments and see this question has been open for years.  Can @YojanaFitbit or any of the other moderators provide a more meaningful update than "Under Consideration"?

@JRbitsfits Nice to see you here. About your inquiry, "Under consideration" label  is used when we think this is a good idea and are discussing how we could move this forward. You can read more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.

@YojanaFitbit

I'm sorry, but that's not answering my question.  I've read through many, many posts and this question has clearly be "Under Consideration" for years. I see dozens of people saying they left Fitbit for your competitors over this.  I'm trying to determine if there is any realistic hope that this issue will be resolved in some reasonable time frame. I'm asking for a more meaningful update.  Are you saying Fitbit won't provide that?

The second paragraph of FAQ #8:

Our goal is to categorize and respond to new suggestions within three to six months. This may seem like a long time, but there are processes we need to go through internally to discuss or research the idea and evaluate its viability and value for our global community. Please be patient as we go through this process.

From what I've read in the comments, this has been going on for at least 7x as long as the time frame FAQ 8 says it should take.

I'll respectfully ask again, can you or someone from Fitbit provide a more meaningful update on the progress of this issue?  In particular, it would be nice to learn the results of the internal discussion and/or research on the merits of this idea.  It would be nice to know if there is active development on this (I recognize there may be technical reasons that may make this more difficult to resolve, but explaining that to your users would likely generate more good well and offset some of the ire generated with the past silence)

Hi there @ErinLeighW, thank you for sharing your feedback with those details. You're right about our goals regarding to new suggestions. In this case, we hope to have more information soon. Sorry for any inconvenience while we're waiting for a response. I know a lot of people is expecting to see this suggestion available on Fitbit accounts.

Yes! Please! I bought the Versa with the idea that I could continue to use my Inspire HR. I am VERY disappointed to find out I can only use one tracker.

We’ve been asking for this for at least 7 years now with no meaningful updates. The message has changed a little, but I wouldn’t hold my breath that it will happen any time soon.

I hastily bought an additional sense to go with my charge(which I wear for training)  as the display is poor after googling whether I could have 2 devices on the same account. Unfortunately I didn't read the small print below the 'yes you can and the app does all the work for you', and I find myself stuck. The wearable devices are brilliant however I feel the lack of development within the app disappointing especially since this was once fixed for older generations of devices meaning fitbit developers knew this was a requirement for any new device that they intended to bring to market. I share the frustration over the lack of timescales for this 'bug fix'(I say bug because this issue has been identified and fixed previously).

Could not agree more!

The incredibly frustrating thing is that FitBit has been mostly silent on the matter other than saying "we are evaluating this"

>From a software standpoint it is not that hard to do. I do realize telling to manage the "app store" over multiple devices could be difficult but I think most of 7s would be happy with basic support l. For me personally,  I don't care if my secondary device has app store support at all. However, I know some might want this. I do know that this is not impossible. It may be difficult because of how FitBit architected their software, but it is far from impossible!

Since Google have taken over there has been no change, I have found that sad. Google step up.

Why is this so hard to implement?

I somehow was able to use both Sense and Inspire HR just weeks ago. Eventually gave the HR to my dad but got myself a Charge 4 to alternate with the Sense only to realize I won't be able to have both Charge 4 and Sense on the account at the same time. I use the Sense as a watch, the Charge as a tracker.

I like Fitbit as a fitness tracker and wanted to expand to using them as a smart watch as well. Unfortunately a limitation like this makes me want to keep using Fitbit as just a tracker/secondary device.

I’ve been posting to this thread for years, and have purchased a very good competitor’s  product, for a much lower price. I will just be using my FB devices for rough stuff now. After half a dozen Fitbits, and years of this I consider Fitbit to be one of “those” companies that doesn’t listen to customers.

Which replacement product and system do you now use?

Sense now returned, back to using my Charge 3 and Charge 2 (when on call) - will move to an alternative provider (Garmin) when the Charge 3 dies, which on past experience won't be long!  Fitbit, you are hemorrhaging previously loyal customers!

I have 2 fitbits. The Versa 2 smartwatch, and the Inspire 2 tracker. One is a tracker and one is a smartwatch. I do not wish to use my Versa 2 for swimming and workouts. I would rather use a cheaper and simpler tracker for those, but I cannot have both on my account at the same time. I either have to create 2 different accounts or return one.

This is a no brainer.  I was happy to drop big money on a Sense.  I am not willing to potentially damage that device in contact sports.  I will use my charge 4 for that.  Come on Fitbit!  Or I will head to Amazfit for cheaper devices.

Hi @topaz54, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to connect your Versa 2 and Inspire 2 on the same account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". To learn more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.

I hope to see you around.

The Fitbit response is useless as always for the last 8 years.
