Allow multiple devices on the same account (Sense/Versa series, Inspire, Charge & Luxe)

Be allowed to have both a Fitbit Versa and a Fitbit Ionic on the same account so you can easily switch between them.

Yes, please allow multiple smart devices (Ionic and Charge 3) to be on the same account.  I can't wear my iconic at work, but can wear the charge 3, so I change them out on non-work days and when I run.  I previously had a surge and the Ionic paired, so didn't realize I would have to switch devices each time when I got the Charge 3.  There are many reasons why people have multiple devices and we have paid to have them, so allow us to sync as many as we own.

Why the change only allowing one Fitbit assigned to an account?  I wear a Charge3 for daily use, use a Versa for while exercising (bigger numbers that I don't have to wear "cheaters") and when on an overnight in a different time zone than my home.  Until last week, my Fitbit app on my iPhone automatically switched between them depending on which one was I was wearing and was active.  Even the Dashboard website says "View All Your Devices" implying more than one.  I recently had a blank screen problem and now have learned only one Fitbit device can be assigned on an account at one time.  Why?

Yes totally agree that should have this feature of allowing Ionic, Versa & Charge 3 on the same account.  I have no issue when I have Alta Fitbit and Ionic.  But now I cannot have Ionic and Charge 3 to be used interchangeably.  Please look into this proposal.  Thanking you in advance.

I want to weigh in on this feature as well. I unexpectedly have two Versa watches and wanted to rotate wearing them on the same account. I have a Charge 2 and this can be done easily with the Versa. I would obviously have to label them as Versa Black and Versa Pink for example, but I can't understand why this can't be done.

Okay, I very rarely post any negative comments here because I've been using Fitbits for years and have loved all of them but I am really unhappy at this point.  I have an Ionic and I purchased a Versa because all the documentation says you can have both attached to an account and the stats will reflect the combined activity for both and now I'm finding that's not true so I've just spent a bunch of money for something I cannot use as intended.  Can this be fixed?  I have one of each and I want to use them both at different times for different reasons and I don't want the step counts and other counts to be split.  I am sooooo disappointed right now.

At this point, I’m seriously considering returning both my Versa and Charge3 to Mr. Park and switching to another platform.  Fitbit company, do you even care?

Hi @kawh ! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing your idea. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this for smart watches, I hope we receive updates soon.

Yes!  It took time I did not have to switch accounts...received both Charge 3 and Versa, replacing Charge 2 and Blaze, for Christmas.  I kept the Charge 3.  When these watches to mesh to same account I will buy one especially with return texts on Iphone added!

I wear my Flex 2 ALWAYS unless it is charging. I bought a 2nd Flex 2 so I could charge 1 and wear the other but I can't pair both. It would be AWESOME if I could pair both and switch back and forth while charging them.

Just FYI, I LOVE the Flex 2 because it is waterproof and small. I actually wear it on my non-dominant ankle and match the band to my outfit. Please continue with a similar model as this would not work with any of your other models. Thanks!

Please allow more than one tracker on my account! I’ve loved them all, and I want to use my Charge3 and Versa both. I was interested in an Inoic, but I want to be able to switch between them without having to set a new one up each time.  I swim with the Charge 3 daily, but have the stainless link band on the Versa for daily wear.  It’s crazy that I can’t switch them out during the day and I wish I had known this before I bought both.  I have used the Alta and Charge 2 in the past, and expected to do the same with my new fitbits. Help!

Stepping Up

I had BOTH a Charge HR 3 and Versa linked to my account for a while. I got a new phone and when I went to setup my devices I was shocked that I can only link ONE of the devices to my account. This was NEVER an issue before. I've owned probably every single Fitbit device since 2012 and I always have a day-time watch and another one for sweaty workouts. I don't want to sweat in my day-time Fitbit. I can't believe Fitbit changed this policy. It's insanity! Why would you program your app to NOT let users BUY MORE FITBITS and link them to your account!!?? Are you guys insane!? I don't want to have to wear a Charge HR when I have a suit on! The Versa is the right watch when you're dressed for the office..

The developer or project manager or whoever decided to change this policy should be fired because they're crippling Fitbit device sales! Why would anyone buy more than one Fitbit if they can ONLY LINK ONE TO THEIR ACCOUNT!??

I have been switching between the Ionic and the Versa on my Fitbit account and at this point it is not a problem so that I can wear one while the other charges, and it is less of an inconvenience than it was at the start.

@ashball

I totally agree.  While it's not all that difficult to switch one for the other, I discovered that when you do that, you lose all your app notifications until the app sends a notification and then you have to go into the Fitbit app and turn on those notifications for that app.  When you first make the switch, those app notification switches are not there.  Very annoying and I feel the same way.  I like different watches for different situations.  It's definitely a bummer.

Now even the new Fitbit Inspire tracker (that essentially replaces the Alta & doesn’t have apps like the Ionic or Versa) can’t be added to your Fitbit account if you already have the Ionic or Versa or Charge 3 on the account.

So Fitbit is forcing its loyal clients who always enjoyed switching back & forth between several devices to now only pick 1 new one!

I am using my Versa, have the Ionic uninstalled in the drawer and can’t buy the Charge 3 or the new Inspire!

I don’t understand this?

Currently you can't have more than one of Fitbit's latest trackers, Ionic, versa or charge 3 connected to you Fitbit account on the app. When trying to set up more than one device you are asked if you are switching. Fitbit should update their software or app to make it compatible for those of us who do have more than one device to have them connected at one time. Some people like to switch between devices for functionality of the device, comfort or style reasons and to have to switch the device each time is not worth the hassle.

Fitbit, can we please address this? People have been voicing their desire for this for over a year. I've always used Fitbit but this lack of response is disheartening. I don't enjoy having $199 item sitting in a drawer because I can not add it to an account with another fitbit.

Now you can't even add the new Inspire if you already have the Ionic or Versa or Charge 3 on your account. Stop limiting your loyal clients to choosing only 1 of your fantastic products and fix this oversight and encourage them to purchase and enjoy all of them on 1 account without the hassle of removing and adding a device and setting everything up from scratch each time!

Come on Fitbit.  We keep see this being flagged as important to many loyal users, but you have yet to even say if you are going to fix it.  This is BROKEN.  It used to work and does not now.

We need a definitive answer.  I have written to the moderator but did not even get an acknowledgment.

Not good enough at all.

Please update your new OS to allow for multiple Fitbit devices on the same account. At this time, you can only choose the Ionic OR Versa OR Charge 3 OR new Inspire trackers. To add a new device, you have to remove the existing and then go through full painful setup each time. Please don't limit your loyal clients to choose only 1 of your new devices instead of buying them all. In the past I had the Blaze, Charge 2, Alta HR and Flex 2 on the same account. New I have my Ionic in the drawer and am using the Versa. I could not order the Charge 3 or new Inspire HR because of this limitation. You are losing thousands of sales & on the forum dozens of loyal users are returning devices because they can't have more than 1 device on their account.

You should really shame on you Fitbit!

All the customers are complaining about that major issue and you are not capable of doing anything.

I really think you should rename your company to Fitbug! It will totally suit you...
