Great ide! I already have asked Fitbit support about this as an improvent and the answer was "
The best place to make your voice heard is the Ideas board on our community"
So please vot for this if this is the only way to get fitbit to tourn-around. I am not so happy with this response from FItbit that they do not take better actions against improvement suggestions
@Jjsimpson wrote: Not sure why fitbit will not let you sync 2 devices to one account. This would give you the the flexibility to choose which one you wanted to use for the day. Also looks like they could sell a few more products. But for those of us that are switching from a clip on to a wrist type we wouldn't be loosing out initial investment.
Totally agree. I'd really like to upgrade to the Force, but would still like to be able to use my Flex for swimming, sweating, etc. If both accounts coyld sync, and I could easily switch back and forth between the 2, I'd mke the change in a minute.
If you look at the Fitbit Blog you will see an announcement dated 6 January saying the Multi-device support allowing up to 5 devices to sync to 1 account is "coming soon".
Where I come from "soon" doesn't mean 6+ weeks and when I asked a Fitbit support person just what "soon" meant I received the less than helpful reply - "we do not have a release date for this feature" - if they don't, how can they say it is coming soon?
Adding my two cents to this topic. FitBIt MUST correct this problem ASAP and allow more than one device to be linked to an account! From a marketing prospective they are really losing out. I love my Charge HR but want to wear the Flex sometimes - and I would also buy a One for times when I don't anythign on my wrist. Don't they realize they could be selling so many more products if multiple devices could link to one account. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE correct.
Please add this feature. I currently use a Surge tracker but don't want to wear it everywhere. I want it primarily for running, exercising, and sleeping. I would prefer to wear the lessobtrusive One tracker during the rest of the day for activities including being in the office, house chores, yard work, etc. I am also concerned about damaging the Surge during more intense activities such as car maintenance or home remodeling. One more point of note is that I work in a professional environment where the aesthetics of a real watch are preferred. As things stand I cannot realistically use the Fitbit product for the entirety of my day. I am sure that there are many others in this same position. Unfortunately I will be returning one of my trackers until this feature has been added.
YES! I agree with this 100%. I have contacted support on this issue. I've been a flex user since September. I'm addicted to tracking steps and more. My husband got me the Surge for V Day and I love it for workouts. It is so much better than my Nike Running watch. However the Surge is big, bulky and not cute at all and I don't want to wear it 24/7 like the Flex. I want to be able to have multiple devices under one account and be able to switch between the Surge and Flex seamlessly and not lose steps/info or have to constantly add/delete devices to switch between the two.
Yes! I want to switch seamlessly between the Flex and Surge depending on my daily activities. Surge is awesome for workouts and casual wear but I'm not going to wear it on a date night or to a job interview. Please give us the ability to utilize multiple trackers under one account!
I kept the Charger HR which I love when working out. Switching has not been difficult, but it could be easier. Let’s hope they develop a program where we can just switch by a click from device to device on the dashboard. I agree with the responses more devices would be sold.
When will this happen? I want to be able to seamlessly switch between my Flex and the Charge I just got as a gift on one account without having to duplicate lots of stuff. The Flex is thinner and better when I'm doing rugged messy work and gives me the ability to get a replacement band that the Charge doesn't. It's a must on a daily basis, but I want to be able to switch to the Charge as soon as I am through with the messy work and wear it for the rest of the day for the watch and CallerID functions. I don't want to have to constantly switch between browsers or accounts to see my data and add it together manually to get daily results. If I have to use 2 accounts and browsers, I will return the Charge and look to Apple for the watch, phone and CallerID functions and lots more.
I would be nice to wear the Charge at work and the Surge when I am at the gym...without having to have two accounts. The Surge doesn't make a great "business attire" accessory. The first thread I saw on this was back in December 2013. I am starting to wonder if we'll ever have that functionality.
I am working one account and switching devices. I have not lost any data by doing this. So far, so good. I agree with everyone they really do need to make this a quicker process. I love my Charger HR; however, need to switch back and forth depending on the day. Good luck.
It may work with 2 accounts OK on a phone, but it doesn't work well with my desktop. It didn't work with one account either. My iPhone 4 won't work for a second sync device and the sync process hangs up all the time on my iMac running Mavrick for me when I try to switch between them. Not a fix. I am resorting to the wrist readout on the Charge and sync process for my Flex and then manual calculations. Not at all what I wanted to do 😞 Still debating if I will keep the Charge.
I also kept my Flex and Charge HR - since I'm counting on the fact that FitBIt will soon correct the problem! I've created bling for my Charge, so I can wear it more often, and give it some variety of looks. I only switch to Flex when HR is charging, or if I want nothing on my wrist and use Flex without band - pocket it etc. For that purpose I would probably also buy a ONE, but not until syncing multiple devices is an option. Come On FitBit your losing sales.... 🙂
If you want to keep all of your stats on one account, I would recommend just use "set up new device" each time you switch devices. On phone it only takes a couple of minutes and then all of your stats stay on one account. It is still inconvenient however, and FitBit needs to fix ASAP>
Ditto! I really want to be able to use multiple devices - I don't always want to wear my Flex, which is visible to anyone. This would be a great feature to add.
Please, please hurry up and offer multiple device support! I have a zip, a one, a flex and I just ordered a Charge and I have opportunities to use each of them in different situations. Thanks.
Please make this a feature!!! It is ridiculous we cannot use more than one device. Sleeping with the Charge HR on is awful. Defeats the purpose of tracking sleep! Our manufacturing plant does not allow watches and such to be worn on the floor, the Zip would be best in this case. I have a hundred reasons I would like to use multiple devices.
