Well, this is annoying. A post in the wrong thread that got my hopes up, then linked to the actual thread it's meant to be in. That post could so easily have been written without placing all the emphasis on a success we don't have in this thread.
I did have my Fitbit surge and Fitbit lonic on the same account as i wore one for work and one to workout.
sadly my surge has finally given up and died so I purchased a new Fitbit sense.
I have just finished setting it up only to find that my Fitbit lonic is no longer on my account but this is the watch i wish to wear to work every day.
I don't want to have to sit there and reconnect each Fitbit as i wish to use it if id known this would happen i wouldn't have spent my money.
Yes, this is the same issue we have been complaining about for years with no response from Fitbit besides some lip service comment. I recommend going to Garmin when your devices die.
Crazy this has been "under consideration" for over 6 years now. While the statement "We are working to provide support for multiple trackers in the future" sounds promising, they must not be actively working on it as it wouldn't take over 6 years to build. It's something that if it's even being considered at all is buried deep in their backlog, which at this point I'd say means we're not likely to ever see it (if they can't get it done in 6 years why would they suddenly do it in the next 6 years?).
Hopefully now that the Google acquisition came through they'll have some additional funding/support to work on some of these things like this, but still not holding my breath. Which is very unfortunate, I have a Sense and want to buy a Charge 4 but there's not much incentive right now since I have to delete/replace the device each time I want to switch. I already have a Charge 3 that is largely worthless now for that exact reason. My old school Charge 2 works (it doesn't use Fitbit apps), but without Active Zone Minutes it's not of much help.
Although thinking about it, since this only became a problem with the introduction of the "app gallery", which started with the Ionic in 2017 so not sure why it would have been requested and marked "under consideration" 3 years prior in 2014. So promising in the sense this has "only" been an issue for 3.5 years, but still not good that it hasn't been addressed in almost 4 years. Forcing you to "remove" and replace a device each time you want to switch is one thing, the main problem is it doesn't retain any of your settings so you have to set it up from scratch all over again just like a new device. Which isn't a huge deal on trackers, but on a Smartwatch like the Sense or Versa it's a huge PITA.
Just received my Sense and so disappointed it has knocked my Charge 3 off my account. Wanted to use the Charge 3 when out by the pool (still waterproof but smaller) or when gardening.
Hi @nickba, thanks for sharing this suggestion about having the Sense and Charge 3 on the same Fitbit account with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to keep the forums organized and make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
I should be able to switch back and forth between my Sense and Versa 2 without having to do full watch set up every time. My old 2015 Pebbles can do this, not sure why a modern smart watch cannot.
Hi @Rugburn, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to sync your Versa 2 and Sense in the same Fitbit account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
so i just stumbled upon this thread when researching for Fitbit HRM broadcast support and thought it was interesting so i figured to chime in just a little bit of what i've experienced so far.
full disclosure: i didn't read over 60 pages of responses but rather, snippits here and there to get an idea. hopefully my experience wasn't already covered and if it has, at least serves as another affirmation of some kind.
back story: i like to cycle as well as walk / hike whenever i have time. i started with Fitbit Ultra, then Fitbit One, then Fitbit Zip... of all of which i understood don't really do much other than count steps and sleep monitor if available. 2 years ago i got myself a Fitbit Ionic and a huge step up at additional benchmarks it provides.
as mentioned above, since i like to cycle, my Ionic doesn't detect step movements as my arms are static on the handle bar other than tracking GPS exercises. since i don't want to miss my step numbers, i wanted to keep the Zip (in my ankle strap) at the same time in my Fitbit app. i am able to have both. now fast forward to last month when i upgraded to Sense, i notice i have to delete Ionic in order to continue. so i assume (and confirmed by others) that Fitbit app doesn't allow 2 similar functioned watch (irregardless of model) to remain on file. again, this is just a simple observation based on my limited Fitbit products i've owned.
Hi @Rick25, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us about the possibility of allowing to have multiple trackers to be on account that use Fitbit app gallery, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here, as this helps to keep the forums for organized and readable for everyone.
Thank you again for your participation in the Community.
I've owned Fitbits for years and have had multiple devices on the same account. My most recent device was a Charge 3 and I decided to purchase a Sense. I find out that they can't coexist on the same account. I only wear one at a time but for very different purposes (tracker v smartwatch) and apparently that is no longer an option.
Hi @mfoe, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to connect multiple devices on the same Fitbit account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
Adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices (...)
You may want to:
- Wear a smaller device for all-day step counting and a larger device for workouts.
- Switch between a discreet, clip-based tracker and a convenient, wrist-based device.
That's exactly my case. I just bouhgt a Charge 3 (wrist based device for workouts) to use with my Inspire (discreet clip based tracker for all day step counting). But oh, they don't work toghether. Can't have both in my Fitbit account. I really do not understand why... I did that with my wrist Alta and my Zip, then whith the Alta and the Inspire, and now I can't with the very similar combination Charge 3 + Inspire. Stepback. So, I'm curious about how the description above can work according to the point of view of Fitbit. If I have a Charge 3 (or a Versa, let's say), which little simple clip-based tracker could be added to my account?
I want to charge one device and wear the other - and then easily switch them. I received a newly purchased Inspire2 and was forced to remove my Inspire from my account to add the Inspire 2. I have been happily using my Alta and inspire interchangeably - charging one and wearing the other for over a year. I want this ability w 2 Inspires
Does anyone tried/know of any other brand's smartwatch + clip tiny tracker collection that works together? To replace my Charge 3 + Inspire combo, which does not work together in the Fitbit app.
Hi @SShew, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to have your Inspire and Inspire 2 connected in the same Fitbit account with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to keep the forums organized and make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
Suggest Fitbit fix the multi-use issue. It’s annoying for me Sense and C3 - would be useful if they could work together. My wife was going o buy an Inspire to work alongside her C3 - sale lost. It can only be a software issue!
Have been an advocate for Fitbit since 2013 (Flex), but this (and syncing issues always) is making me question my faith.
BTW, trying the premium app (free at the moment) - won’t be subscribing - can’t see it’s with the price.
