I have the same issue with Charge 3 and Luxe. I want to use both. I am debating on whether to send back the Luxe I just got but hate to do that because it looks so nice and would be good for dressy events. I’m hoping Fitbit will make a fix to this soon!
For those of you who are new to the thread, note that it's up to 72 pages long and has been marked as "under consideration" by Fitbit since 2014 with no apparent progress. We've been begging for this capability for years. I wouldn't hold my breath on it coming any time soon.
I would return your new devices, tell support why you're returning them, and mention it in online reviews. Maybe you can help save other potential customers the headache of learning that their shiny new device can't be on their account at the same time as their older one. I still can't imagine why Fitbit seems so uninterested in fixing this; it's literally just throwing sales away and it's a very bad customer experience.
As for me, I reluctantly switched to another wearable company that supports this use case with no problems at all. Fitbit apparently didn't want my money. Somebody else did.
If there are any Fitbit admins reading this, can we at least get the status changed from 'under consideration' to 'highly requested but we dont care!' ? or is that also going to take 7 years to implement?
Its bad enough this simple feature is missing, whats worse is the way you keep directing new customers onto this feature suggestion board and giving them hope.
Can you tell me what other user you went to? Is it good with sleep monitoring? I would like a nice watch for times out but a rough one for work. Fitbit has no interest so maybe we could use this thread for other competitors?--
@ErikaVmentions of competitors seem to get posts removed, which I why I didn't name any in my previous post ;-). But at the risk of having this one censored: I switched to Garmin. I'm happy with its sleep monitoring and its other features. And you can have as many watches and trackers as you want on your account and switch back and forth at-will.
Awesome, thank you! I spent a lot of money on Fitbit over the years, and was really upset to learn I couldn’t have two on their platform all of a sudden one day. I even called, and was totally disregarded by their representative. I even researched and found Apple Watch won’t track sleep and it seems like an even bigger waste of money, so thank you for suggesting Garmin! I’ll look into that, I’m too active to have just one watch. I need a cheaper one for when I’m working and a good looking one for when I’m out. Fitbit used to provide that, but I guess the technology got to expensive? --
I agree with everyone. I have been watching this thread for several years now. I have been frustrated with the lack of prioritization of this feature. At this point, I will not wait any longer and will switch to Garmin like many of you are doing. I would also recommend each of you share your negative experience with FitBit with friends and through social media.
I’ve had two Garmins before and I find them grossly inaccurate.
My new Luxe was a Mother’s Day present (May) and it took a month to get it shipped to me (mid-June). Now that I encountered this problem,
1) I will return the Luxe. Honestly, its pretty but after having such a big screen on the Versa 3, I don’t want to return to a tiny tracker-sized screen.
2) My other solution is that I ordered a simple metal chain link band for my Versa 3 and will wear other bracelets with it. I like arm candy but I need to move on.
3) I don’t need more “first world problems” complaining about my multiple watches. There are more important things in life.
I just purchased the Luxe to wear when I go out. I planned on wearing my Versa 2 most of the time. Right now I cannot switch back and forth. This would be great. I was able to do it with earlier Fitbits. Please modify so we can have two devices on one account.
I was wondering when this lack of commitment from fitbit towards loyal customers would become an issue. It seems the day has arrived. I ended up giving the "extra" watch to my mother due to this issue, but she barely uses it. But i do have my watch from another brand that use together with the Sense. Obviously, when the Sense breaks, I will move to the other brand completelly because I hate to sync between apps. I don't get fitbit's lack of answer. Every day they add a new customer to this list they are practically taking their most loyal customers to frustration. They have to acknowledge that this group has customers that have bought two or more fitbit devices. That is loyalty! The anwer they give back is like, thank you, I don't mind you exist.
Since I first posted regarding this suggestion it has become apparent that the feature is much requested and that the lack of it is likely to heavily impact Fitbit's multiple sales.
If, though, any of us needs an example of how Fitbit's customer focus has reduced since the early days ...
I wrote to Fitbit in San Francisco - marked for the attention of Jonathan Oakes - on 7th April. I have heard NOTHING!
I, along with others, will move away from Fitbit when I need my next wearable or, at least, only use Fitbit for my old device.
I am INCREDIBLY disappointed to discover that my new Luxe cannot be linked to my account along with my Inspire 2. I did some cursory research before ordering the Luxe and was under the impression that I would be able to easily swap between the two. I'm considering returning the Luxe and sticking with the Inspire 2.
Since this should have been and was promised feature originally, I am tired of waiting. I have purchased 2 Ionics and am now actively looking at replacing them most likely with Garmins since they do not suffer from this issue. I have posted and asked many times over the years and I am now done supporting Fitbit. This is a sad day considering the promise of the Fitbit being such an early leader in wearables. This has in my opinion put Fitbit at the bottom of the list and I will no longer suggest or refer any clients to Fitbit again.
Hi @Ummee, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to connect your Ionic and Sense under the same Fitbit account with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
I am frustrated that Fitbit thinks this is a "Feature Suggestion"! This is a problem that was created when Fitbit introduced new trackers/smart watches that can not be added to your account. NONE of the new devices can be used together on the same account like the old ones. THIS IS NOT A FEATURE SUGGESTION. It's a problem. I think I'm moving to Garmin with many of the others who are disgusted with Fitbit's refusal to fix this problem.
@Mick-M exactly! This isn't a 'feature suggestion' as the mideratirs tend to imply but simply a removal of existing core functionality that worked fine in previous generation of Fitbit's ubtil somebidy in the R&D department decided to cut corners, make a simple solution and removed cross device sync and multi device usage for the new platform and breaking exusting functionality that worked fine... vote with your money if Fitbit us not listening, that this thread was started in 2017 and goes over 72 pages abd all that moderator do is replying with copy&paste sniplets "thank your for your suggestion..." says a lot
I have created a watch face, Facade, that has the ability to turn the watch into a flashlight by setting all the pixels to white, turning the intensity to high, and disabling autoOff. This works fine on an Ionic but autoOff cannot be disabled on Versa3 or Sense.
Some sort of similar capability is needed for these devices.
I got a fitbit Luxe and love it and the slim design but it lacks some features of that the fitbit sense has. Please make it so that one account can have both the Luxe and the Sense!
Hi @jodangus, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to allow to use Sense and Luxe in the same Fitbit account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
