Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

Backing the 3rd shift option!  It seems that this would be an easy fix. How much support does an idea need to get the attention of the Fitbit devs? 3rd shift lives matter! 😂😂

Love the idea of being able to increase the hours beyond 14 and for it to be a 24 hour count, as both hubby and I are commercial cleaners.  We sleep during the day as we also have kids to get up and ready for school etc.  Our counts look low when we count them this way.

Also, I would LOVE to see the option to increase the hourly step reminder as I am hitting the 250 steps per hour without a problem (when I'm awake) but still not reaching my daily goal.  The reminder buzz to move is great for me, and if it was customisable to the amount of steps I would need for my daily goal, divided by a number of hours I set, it would be PERFECT.  I love my Fitbit Flex2 and will be looking at upgrading to the new model due out in May (specifically for the in depth sleep tracker).

This would be a great feature since I have an inconsistent schedule due to school

So true...apparently fit bit employees/software designers work 8am to 3pm!!

I work graveyard shift, so the hourly reminders to move being restricted to only between 5am and 2pm on my Blaze essentially make the feature useless to me. Open it up so that it is a 24 hour period, and that it can cross midnight. On my days off I wake up at 10pm and go to bed around noon. Having that feature when I am awake would really help. Seeing it when I am about to go to bed is pointless.

The current hourly activity tracker won't allow for the goal to be overnight- this is a problem for overnight workers!

I work nights--13 hour shifts. Some days my active hours are during the day and other times I'm active at night. Please update this feature so I can customize this for my schedule or at least allow me to track active hours for 24 hrs rather than just 14. Thanks

I've been trying to find a way to get the hours changed for my Fitbit. I'm glad to find this "community" thing. At the same time, it's VERY frustrating when said Fitbit community is centered solely around first shift people. I'm sure we all know that night workers get the short end in many things Smiley Frustrated

but this seems like an opportunity to give us a fighting chance!!! At least when it comes to being active, getting those reminders to move & being able to have our active times count. Please Fitbit, step up and make this change!!!

I so agree with this!  We should have a 24 Hour Clock rather than a 14 Hour Clock 🙂

Please add this option!! I work 3rd shift and would really love to use the reminders to move. It would be very nice to set any hours, not just daytime. I work 9pm-8am. 😞

Agreed! I work 13 hours/third shift, as well, and I would love to be able to change my active hours to MY normal active hours.

I work shifts every week different shift my rotation is

M- midnights 11pm-7am

A- afternoons 3pm- 11pm

D-days 7am- 3pm

So to be able to change control the 9to5 250 step count or the "time to get some rest" notification would be great !

I am mildly obsessed with my fit bit (Charge 2) but have the same issues. This is NOT a night-shift/swing-shift user-friendly product. "daily steps" "activity times" are all based upon the 0000-2359 model of life...... For a company that is so tech savvy this should not be such a hard fix.

Please add option to add your own reminders and to set a schedules for people with night shift jobs.

It's upsetting that I work out around 12am and my work outs get slit into 2 days.

so the logs are always messed up.

I just contacted them about this because I too work nightshift (7p-7a) as well. This was their response:

"Thank you for your suggestion about adding the option to reset at a different time. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. The best place to make your voice heard is the Ideas board on our community (https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Requests/idb-p/features), which our product development teams consult regularly to ensure we're delivering on what our customers need and want. Please take a moment to visit and give us your feedback.

If you find that a similar suggestion has already been made by another member of the community, you can vote for their idea and add your comments."

Maybe 10 pages of comments over a year span will get Fitbit to change it up. I've contacted them and they said to check out the community boards.

Here we all are.... Come on, throw us a bone 😛

I agree with 100%. I work from 4pm to midnight-ish. When I get home, I take a moment to look at my progress and I feel discouraged because the data has been reset at midnight. It is hard enough working this schedule!  When I try to set my "Reminders to Move," I can't set it beyond 11pm.  I work in emergency veterinary medicine, after 11pm is when my job starts getting interesting!  Please find a way to vary when days start for people since you already are learning when we need to wake up.

I have been wearing my Fitbit for less than 2 days, and the lack of options for zombies is annoying me. Guess I will gripe in the App Store as well.

I am a paramedic that is starting to work 12 hour night shifts and this would be great. I already struggle to keep my regular fitness routine due to working nights and this makes it harder.

I hate that fitbit doesn't realize that not everyone works M-F 9-5

I'm a night shift RN and right now the hours of activity do not cover my 12 shift that is from 7pm to 730am. It would be nice if the software can be updated so that everyone has the option to select whatever hours work best for them.

Thanks for your suggestion regarding night shift adjustments for Reminders to Move. This is definitely something from which users could benefit, and it's great to hear this type of support from our Fitbit Community. Please continue to vote for this idea and add your commentary for future consideration by our team.

There should be an option to change the "Reminders to Move" from a period between two times, such as from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, to having a certain number of hours per day you want to hit your goal, such as 6 hours a day. This would mean that we would hit our goal by hitting 250 steps, six hours a day, not having to be in order.

Hi

I work 3rd shift, and with the current 5-14 hour activity goal limit on my Alta, I cannot set it to maximize the hours I'm awake and tracking. Please, Please change this. I set it to display military time, so it would be wonderful if the activity goal tracker would also reflect this. For instance, I would like my "start" time to be 1500 (3:00pm), and end at 0700 the next morning on the nights I work, and then be able to set it for "normal" hours on my days off. With the current setting, that exceeds the 14 hour time frame, so it would be nice if the 14 hour limit was bumped up to a full day at 24 hours.

Please fix, because this time limit does not work for a lot of people!

thanks
