Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

It ends at midnight there is no way around it. That's what this post is all about, trying to get fitbit to change the hours for night shift people.

So apparently this has been a problem for us for years and still no fix....hmm, do ya think they read these comments?

At one point we got a comment from fitbit for people to keep voting on the topic....this has been going on for a year or more. Guess they don't listen.

Maybe you have to have a certain number of votes to get the issue addressed? Hmmm....darn I tried to hit the 👍again, didn't work😕. So frustrating...I'm going to check other devices.

I am very upset with FitBit.

I paid $250 and I was lead to believe that this feature would be added soon so I have kept the fitbit only to find out people have been complaining for over a year about this and Fitbit just ignores us all. So for this reason I am sad to say but I will be leaving this community and will be looking for another device.

It is extremely discouraging not to be able to do the 14 steps when the clock ticks after 12 or the vibration level is so soft it doesnt work as alert. and you can even set your alarm more then 8 times to get around this.

It's also extremely discouraging when my work out is split into 2 days after 12am

So for these reason and the lack of support form FitBit to care about there users I am moving on to a company that cares about there members.

Can anyone recommend a device that allows night shift settings?

I got a Garmin, specifically the Vivosmart 3, and it's worked wonders. I returned the Fitbit after I realized how limited it was and how much they didn't care about their users. The Garmin let's you set alarms, reminders, and your sleep schedule to whatever it is without Fitbit's ridiculous restrictions. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I just did the comparison and completely agree! Turning in my Fit Bit for a Garmin ASAP!

No, we are second class Fitbit users.

I will add myself to this request for customer service. I work from 10pm to 7am 5 nights a week, so I have to set my RTM from midnight to 9am and just forget about the hours between 7pm and midnight. It is just programing to make this overnight crossover possible. Lets get some programing for the large number of people that keep things running while the rest of you sleep.

Also need to be able to set it to not remind on the nights "days" when you just need to sleep.

(Edit) After reading the comment about the Garmin Vivosmart 3 I looked at all the specs, and the choice is very simple. I'm getting the Garmin! Since fitbit can't see that all customers are important and do not want to spend a little on programing a simple feature that Garmin has already programed.  Goodbye Fitbit, Hello Garmin!

Years later here we all are still asking for what would seem to be a SIMPLE adjustment on the Fitbit end. And.....

NOTHING. What a shame!!! Especially considering the money each of us spent on our trackers. Looks like I'll have to check out the Garmin Device some of you have mentioned. Time to sell my Fitbit!! Thanks for nothing Fitbit....

It does make me wonder. How about it Fitbit? Do you read these comments? Your loyal subjects would appreciate an answer here where we all can see it.

Interested in having my Flex 2 be capable of setting things 24/7. I.e. Reminders to move...only available during the day. I need to remember to adjust when working nights because it will wake me with the reminders, lol!

I posted this as a feature suggestion, but since this seems like the most popular "upvoted" idea, I wanted to copy it here:

I work nights, and though I have no issue with splitting my steps between 2 days, I'd like to use the Hourly Activity Goal feature and currently can't.

I'd like to be able to set up the Hourly Activity Goal to go from 12am - 9am and then add an additional Hourly Activity Goal from 5pm - 11:59pm.

Otherwise, I'm only able to use the feature for a few hours during my normal business day... Smiley Sad

It would be a bonus if this Hourly Activity Goal could be programmed based on days of the week (like Alarms already are) and set differently for different days. I.e., my weekends are "normal" human hours, but Sunday night - Friday morning I'm on graveyards

Just want to be able to have the midnight reset time be altered to suit one's schedule!!!!!

Need to be able to set the app up to track people who work overnight. Also to be able to set reminders to move overnight. There are a lot of us here that bought a Fitbit without knowing this wasn't possible.

Thanks

Hi, I work on a rotating shift pattern of nights and days, however there is no option for night workers.

My alarm goes off in the morning when I'm finishing work and it tells me I've had 12 hours of restless sleep, and have not hit any targets for the daytime when I sleep.

I believe this makes having a fitbit pointless for shift workers.

All that is needed is a calender....like Google calender or even if it could sync with my Google calender on my phone.

I know a credible amount of requests are needed to even consider this as an idea. It would make life simple.

Many thanks.

It would be great if we could get two sets of notification times for those of us who work over night. I could set notifications from 8pm to midnight and a second set from midnight to 8am. That would help solve the night shift issues.

Anything new in the works for this to happen?

Nothing....

No response, no questions, nothing. No customer focus and blind perception
that no one works outside normal 9-5 hours.

Not to be unexpected, night workers ignored

I am a nurse practitioner who works night shift in an ICU. Unfortunately, it seems the software program for my Fit Bit Charge 2 will not allow me to program my hours of activity (4pm to 6am) according to my schedule.

Perhaps with a future software release,  the fitness tracking software will allow both a setting for overnight activity as well as varying activity goals for each day (ie program activity for weekends vs work week)

Night Shift Blues

Please add/change:

1) Reminders to move, allow a 24hr clock. This will cover both Day and Night workers. Otherwise someone's step count is always short changed/split between two days.

2) Allow modification of when 24hr reset happens. This is similar to first request. Steps get split between two days.

Thanks for consideration.

Not sure why Fitbit is dragging their feet on this.

Likely because the day-shift software developers and marketing folks
@Fitbit have no idea that there are actually a good number of physically
active people working hard in the hours when they are tucked happily in
their beds.

Of course they don't hesitate to call on us (EMS, Fire, Police, Hospitals,
Power companies, airlines, trains, etc) when they need to.

As a nurse I work hrs a week overnight and am used to the day-walkers
having no idea what goes on at night.
