Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

Can  we please (since we can set the app and clock to use military time) be allowed to set the "Hourly Activity Reminders" to be the hours when I am actually active most days??  I work night shift and would like my reminders to be set to 2000 hrs to 0800 hrs.  I have military time set for my clock and the reminders to move can only be set to hours during the day (it does not recognize that the hours from 2000 to 0800 are the hours that I am active and will not allow me to receive the reminders).  I work in healthcare and I can't believe that this has never come up before (I can't believe that I myself have never asked, just always had the reminder notifications turned off)

I work the night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. I love the Reminders to Move feature, but wish I could set it for 12 hours spanning overnight. Currently I set it for 6pm-12:00am then rest it for 12am-6am. It would be great if the 5-14 consecutive hours could span from one day into the next .  Thank you.

Hi,

I work overnights & would like the ability to set the hours for remind to move from PM to AM. Currently you can only choose to start in the AM and end in PM. Not ideal for someone with my schedule.

Thank You.

I would like the Hourly Activity times to be customizable instead of only consecutive hours.  I may be able to get the required number of hourly steps for up to 14 hours, however there may be times when I have a meeting or appointment and steps might not be possible in a certain hour.   Yet, I can get steps for other hours.

It would be helpful if you could change the 'Reminders to Move' hours on different days. For instance, during the work week, change the hours from 6AM-5PM but leave the weekend hours 9AM-5PM.

Some of us work night shift and it won’t allow you to change the hours past 11pm. This is very disappointing as I’m working 7pm to 7am but can only do step goal for half my day. This is something that needs to become a priority because there are so many people that work a night shift. Half the military, medical, police/security, and fire just to name a few.

I just tried to change my active (250+ hours) from 10 AM to midnight.  2nd shift. Apparently, that can't be done because midnight is onto the next day? I don't understand why in this case you don't stop it at 11:59, or why people can't choose any 14 hours they want.

I was just about to suggest this. It's so disappointing and discouraging to not have the hourly step counter available after midnight.

I work midnights. I would like my reminders to move to be active from the house of 7pm - 7am on the days I work and the days I’m home I want them to be on from the hours of 7am to 9pm. Please make it possible to program individual days easier. Or have them be on all the time while awake be an option. Thanks!

With a changing work schedule and one that goes overnight it would be nice to be able to set a different schedule of reminders to move for different days that can be turned on or off depending on your schedule during that portion of the month or year.

Example is that I work most of the time M-R 6pm to 2:30am and F 2pm to 1030pm but I can only set the reminders to move for one of those time frames.  and the M-R one I can't even cover all of the hours since I can only have them grouped in one midnight to midnight setting!! Highly Frustrating!

Solution would be to set up one schedule to cover M-R and other for F and yet another for Saturday and Sunday when your schedule is totally different.

I am a shift worker and am up at all hours of the day and night. I would love there to be a function that allows the "reminders to move" to incorporate not only a longer stretch of time, but to also be able to overlap days. Example, I am on a night shift which runs from 21:00 to 08:00 the following morning. I can't set reminders past 23:59 so I have to go onto my dashboard and change it all the time. Also, there should be a way to set 00:00 or even 00:01 for midnight. Instead I need to start it at 01:00. Not the biggest pain in the world but would certainly add to convenience! Thx!

Just got My Ionic and was setting up the activity reminder section.  I work from 2200-0600 Mon-Fri however it wont allow Me to setup those hours cause I guess it spans 2 days or because it starts at 2200 and goes until 0600.  Please fix!

I work the night shift- 7 pm to 2 am. The sleep tracking is helpful, but it would be even better if there were tips for those of us who cantc sleep a standard night. I also can't set my active hours to coincide with my shift. Even though it's consecutive hours, it overlaps two days and there is no option for that .Just done features for those of us on non traditional schedules would be nice. Thanks,!

Just came here to say this.  I'd love to be able to set my active hours correctly since I work 9pm to 5am and sleep during the day.  It would be awesome to include night shift tips as well.

Alternately,

3 days per week I'm active in the nighttime.

I work third shift during the week, 7p-530a Monday night-Friday morning and off every weekend. I think it would be a good idea to add an option for multiple step reminders. For example, instead of being able to set one reminder for my work days 6pm-6am, I could set two. One for work days, and one for my off days (6a-6p). It would be really helpful to those who don’t work consistent shifts each day.

MarcoGFitbit suggested I submit - try to get my 14 hours of activity, but work meetings, driving, church sometimes have me sitting. Let us count active hours all day.  bcp

Hello @bcperry15.

Thanks for taking the time to post in here. In this case, I'd like to ask you to clarify exactly what is it that you are proposing. Please be as detailed as possible on what your idea is, and what it would accomplish. Are you saying that you'd like to have add more hours to the hourly goals? Please be as in-depth and descriptive as possible.

I look forward to your reply.

I like the reminder each hour to "get up and move". I strive for the Max
of 14 each day. Travel, meetings, church during the active timeframe don't
allow me to achieve during those events. I do reach the 250 steps during
hours before and after the scheduled hours (mine are 7am-8pm). Many times
I take my Fitbit off before 7am and walk, then I will move my arm in car
--- kinda cheating, but I already banked an active hour before 7am without
fitbit (awkward in church and meetings).

You track all other stats for 24 hours, why do you restrict active hours to
specific times? Let me get my 14 active when I can (can still set times
for reminders). Should we restrict 10K steps to those same hours? This is
a simple app change. I wrote years ago to add hourly activity goals -
better to do some activity often than many I know (wife) who sit for 7
hours then do 8k steps in an hour. Appreciate your past support and future
consideration.

Thank You, bcperry15
