Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

In the current versions, reminders are only allowable in the same day.  (Cannot set reminders from say 6pm to 8am).  However there a lot of us fat 3rd shifters who live sedimentary lifestyles due to our work shifts need this!.   Thus, it would be great for us Vampires if you would allow for reminders to go from PM to AM.  We pasty-skinned fat people need love too!

Let me see my hourly activity on a 24 h basis in the app. I work shifts and my awake hours are really irregular. If I could also get a turn on and off option for the hourly activity reminders when I plan to sleep instead of having to choose a static time period for the reminders it would be really helpful. As it is now I am prompted to be active while I sleep just as much as I am awake and vice versa.

So I'm full time mum, part time night worker. When I get a night shift I still get more than 14 hours with 250 steps but it's none of the specified ones. Would be nice if it just registered 250 steps in any given hour and we just specify between 00-00 or 30-30. Rather than trying to get the 250 steps per hour between 7am-9pm. make it so it doesn't have to be consecutive.

I would like to be able to set my activity tracker from a pm time to an am time as I work night shift. Currently I have to change my activity/ hourly tracker twice per day as you can not currently set the activity tracker from say 10pm to 7am this is not productive for a person whom works night shift. You can not cross from the night to am the way it is currently set is that one has to start at 12 am to a future time instead say 10 or 11pm to an am time such as 8am

I work the night shift so being unable to cross the midnight threshold for the hourly activity reminder is really quite frustrating. I'm sure l'm not the only night shifter who has had this frustration. Is there any work around to this?

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 10p to 6a and would like to set reminders for 1600 - 0600 but the current feature only allows half to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 14 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 5 days a week, but on the weekends I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

Hi. I really wish we could choose active hours that crossover 12 am. I work night shift and I wish I could set the active hours to track from 7pm to 7am when I am in fact active. At this time I can only set it to run from 7pm to 12am. 😞

I am nocturnal, and a nightshift worker.

Why does this device only cater for daywalkers??  - Create a "nocturnal mode" PLEASE… let us adjust settings to fit our sleep/wake rhythm… eg being able to set "reminders to move" between ANY hours, not just office-worker hours! We've spent all this money on a device that has limited range because we function at night!

Ok. So, us third shift workers want the step reminders to be able to span concurrent days...   for example to start at 1800 and end at 0400(the next day)

yet when someone asks for this, a moderator just herds it into a common AND LOCKED thread to consolidate the requests.   The theory is “if enough people ask, the developers might actually do something”.  However by just putting all the requests into A LOCKED thread, you discourage people from posting and requesting it.  As someone new to the forum will see it’s locked and think one of two things: a) it’s already in the works or b) they just don't care.

i am firmly in the second category and feel that our requests are being swept under the rug to be forgotten in a dusty corner where nobody looks.   And while there may be 1000s of people who agree with me, as this will be merged into the same LOCKED THREAD no one can post their agreement.

so.    Can I please not be spoon fed the “if enough people ask we may do something” line that this request HAS BEEN GETTING FOR YEARS FROM TONS OF PEOPLE.  And be told by a developer (not a forum moderator) if this might actually be something you are looking at doing sometime soon, or just be told to piss up a rope, which is what we feel you are doing by consolidating all of our requests into A LOCKED THREAD!

thank you for your time,

I work a rotating shift work in a factory every 4 weeks we rotate. I am not able to adjust my hourly goals to show the time I am actively awake and working due to be on overnights alot. I believe you need to address this in next update there are alot on night shift worked who function at hours your devices believe we should be asleep and sleep when they think we should be awake.

One thing I would really like would be further customization of the daily activity goals.

For instance, I wake up at a different time on the weekends than on the weekdays, so it would be nice if I could set a different range of time for Saturday/Sunday than Monday-Friday.

Also, there are times when I'm in an hour+ long meeting at work, and can't make my 250 step goal for that hour. For this reason, it would be nice if there was an option to set a range of time, with the goal of hitting 250 steps in at least x of those hours (say, 8 out of 9). That way, I won't feel like the goal is unattainable on days I might have an hour+ long meeting at work.

It would also be nice to have an option to increase the step count above 250, although I'd place the other two customization options above this one, personally.

This. I'd love more customisation around hourly step goals.

I like the different schedules for different days (working days/days off) and the X hours out of Y. Also I'd love to change the 250 steps to something else. I wonder how they came up with 250? I'd rather be able to set it lower and increase the number of hours or higher and reduce the number of hours.

As it is now I know it is unattainable and I get discouraged. I'm starting to think it doesn't even matter that much as long as I hit my daily step goal.

It's like someone was reading my mind!!

I work shifts so my days are varied, and often I'm not able to hit 250 steps in an hour so you feel you've let yourself down. Yes I know, and lets face it, it's just a mental thing, but who doesn't like it when you hit all your targets in a day. And it's not like we're trying to cheat, just be a little more flexible.

So come on Fitbit. Get it sorted.

Cheers!!

I spend roughly half my working life on night shifts. The lack of flexibility from Fitbit on when the days ends means that my steps are split between two days, I can't set movement reminders through my night shift, I cant properly use goals or badges and there is no way to properly log my sleep over the week. It makes the data from my Fitbit almost useless.

I'm surprised to see that hundreds of people have been suggesting an option to manually choose when your day begins and ends since 2014, but if has gone ignored.

There is a common perception that most people work "normal" hours - but this isn't true. Huge proportions of people work shifts in hospitals, retail, hospitality, transport, emergency services, broadcasting and then there are people who are just night owls!

The impact of night work on our health is increasingly being recognised. As such, these groups of people are particularly interested in using products such as Fitbit. Please let us come on board!!

I am awake and active from the late afternoon until the early morning. I am not able to set move reminders to match my schedule. It won't let me set move reminders that pass midnight. For example, I'd like to be reminded to move hourly from 2p-4a, but the app does not allow this. Can this please be changed for night shift workers and night owls everywhere?

I've seen previous requests for this that are now locked so I was not able to vote for them. Thank you for listening!
