Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

FitBit, it has been so long your minions are asking and asking - both patiently and not so much - giving you all our reasons why we need for you to come to our rescue as Alta owners. Clearly lots of customers need this change for the RTM, in the direst way. I've been a faithful FitBit user for years, and pose this thought to you...when it's time to buy a new tracker I will do a lot of reconsidering, if FitBit cannot respond to its devoted customers pleading their cause for lo these many weeks and months.

I too will reconsider getting another Fitbit. I have always given rave reviews for Fitbit but no longer. This is really a simple fix for Fitbit to do.

I agree with this. I work 10pm-6am, and cannot set up the move reminders alerts for between the hours of 9pm and 11am. I am usually going to sleep at around noon and wake up around 8:30pm.

It would be very nice if these activity tracker companies would recognize the existence of night shift workers and would make the software for the trackers customizable to accommodate them.

And given that our society has pretty much moved to 24-hour industry, and a great many workers are now night shift workers, ignoring their needs when creating these activity trackers.

From the time I wake up at 8:30pm to midnight I usually clock in around 3,000 steps, but that falls on that day, and then it resets at midnight and I am starting over, even though I am still at work and moving around. It is very annoying.

What good is a Tracker to people if you can only track half your steps? You are not getting the full results of your workouts, which in turn is not encouraging you to workout more. I really believe that Fitbit could do something about this quickly if they wanted to and I'm hoping they will for the many night shift workers there are, and for the other people that are not working but have weird schedules just the same. I really feel for the night shift workers there's not much they can do about it except hope that fitbit complies with their needs. Are you listening Fitbit? Would you at least let us know if you are working on this problem or not. Many of us would like to know before we buy another tracker. Other trackers may not have this at all, but they are a lot less exensive. People don't want to spend extra money on something that they cannot use!!!

Well it has been at least three months since it was introduced and so far nothing. I called the second day after it was released so I am not happy.

I cannot reset the hours on my charge. I, too, have activity hours that do not fall within the range provided.

I just missed my daily goal AGAIN by only a few hundred steps. It would be great to have a reminder set at 10 pm (or some custom time) if you haven't yet made goals for the day.

Can you please change the daily step challenge so that it logs over a 24 hour period and make it ANY 24 hour period, I work nights and have done for 20 years and all of my walking is from 21:00 through to 06:30 some days its all before midnight others its after but as it stands I cant log all of it.

Apart from that  maybe add a few more alarms

@laueras, is it?

Fitbit has a weird schedule for sending the Steps Remaining push notification. With my Charge, whenever I'm about 1750 steps away from my 7.5k goal, Fitbit will send me a notification.

Otherwise, I don't know how to help you here.
If you still can't get an answer, contact Fitbit http://support.fitbit.com

Have a good day!

Noc shift 12 hr workers would like a way to change work days start and end times. We work 3-4 nights approx 1800-0630. Then switch back to night sleep when off.

the hourly notifications don't work well for those who work night shift, or shifts that begin at 1900 and run to 0700, for example.  Could there please be a way to split the hourly 250 steps into two portions to allow for this?

Thank you!

I love my fitbit!

The only thing I've noticed is that many of the custom tracker options, only allow you to do or set things for a day shift US sort of world.

The hourly activity tracker for instance, will not allow me to set it to begin or end where my world begins. The latest start time allowed is 1400 (2pm), and the latest end time allowed is 2300 (11pm).

I'm a night shift nurse. My life exists in the graveyard hour world. It would be really great if I could set my fitbit to times that apply to me.

Welcome aboard Jade!  We agree - but we need more votes.  I'm wondering if people realize that if they vote more than once it subtracts a vote because we are only up to 158 😞  In the programming features world - the squeaky wheel gets the grease so we really need to get that number up before they will take it seriously.  I have to believe there are more than 158 people in the Fitbit ownership world that is bugged by this lack of flexibility.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly.

Yes, I didn't realize that all my votes didn't count. It really is a easy change for Fitbit. Obviously they don't care.

It's sad that there are apparently so few of us night shifters that have these or use them. My hospital encouraged them as part of our wellness plan, they are one of the only two trackers we are allowed to use, but they are just so night shift unfriendly 😞

Yes, they are. When I am on night shift I was always changing the times to accomodate my needs. It is a pain in the butt.

I think they do care smythch - but until there are enough votes, they won't see it as something a large portion of customers want.  Features are driven by the number of requests/feedback.  If there were a few thousand votes - they may consider it worth the cost of the programming.

I get it it is FitBit that doesn't. I called and complained on day two of roll out. I am beginning to think everyone should call and complain and not do it through this forum.

I'm a former night shift RN that really wants the split times available too.  To this day, I don't sleep well and am usually awake during what was my normal work time for the past 30 years or so.  I want the change too!  I've posted this request long ago and still wait as we all do.  How can we get the word out?  I do know if you CALL customer care, they will see that the request gets put in.  Can everyone reading this PLEASE do this??  Hopefully if enough of us call, they will eventually listen to us.  I've already done this myself, so I know they are aware of my concerns.

I know that some of my friends don't read the forums........yet..........but they are new to Fitbit and are dealing with one family member resisting CPAP, yet willing to monitor via Fitbit.  Until he got his Fibit he did not believe he had problems with sleep apnea (His wife got him a Charge HR after much prodding by me).  I understand he wears it faithfully and although is fighting the idea of needing CPAP, even he will hopefully come around when there is hard cold proof that the problem exists and he can see it for himself.  Since he can now have proof that he can see himself, I beleve he will eventually agree, but he is one hard headed individual that should have been from Missouri (you get it, right?).

I had previously written in a forum about these folks and had given up on getting them to realize the benefits of a Fitbit for him.  What changed you might ask?  One night while he was having significant snoring and accompanying periods of apnea, his wife checked his pulse (she is also a nurse) and discovered it ranging between 35 and 39 bpm!!!  Finally, that got her devoted attention and she got him a Fitbit that next day!  She now takes her phone with her to his appointmens and the clinic they go to at a military base, can see AND has taken notice of the data and things are changing.  He has been forbidden to drive because his judgement is impaired due to insufficient rest.  He is still fighting the idea of CPAP, but hopefully will come around in time.

On the old dash board I could set different times for different days for my hourly achievements but now on the new dashboard if I set new times it changes that time to all other previous days. This does not suit shift workers because if I am working a day shift from 9 to 5 and the next day working nights I can't change the time because it will put out my achievements from the days that I work. Fitbit you had this working fine on the old dashboard please add this to the new dashboard.

I was just wondering if it's possible if we can do more than 5 challenges at a time. I love doing challenges 😄
