Allow to choose the data you wish to track when categorizing exercise

I know this is an option on the web dashboard. However, this existing option only lets you customize the exercise's name, and not the type of exercise it actually is. For example, I created the custom exercise "core work", assigned this new category to the workout I did today, and then the app gave me completely irrelevant information like GPS data, distance data, and pace data.

Ideally, the moment you create a custom exercise, the app lets you input the name, and choose the data you wish to track. For example, for a fitness class you want HR, calorie burn, and duration. For an outdoors activity, you want GPS, distance and pace data. Also, ideally, the app would let you choose wether this activity is aerobic, weightlifting, elliptical, spin bike and treadmill.

Also, please please please add "Core Work" and "HIIT" (High Intensity Interval Training) to the list of activities.

Fully agree with the custom exercise types.

Also currently GPS only seems to be possible for the activities hiking, running and cycling. On the fitbit website dashboard, recorded activities can be adjusted to a custom name, except for the above mentioned three. The "click to edit" option is not there? This should be an easy fix?

Update dashboard to include data on available exercise types including biking, weightlufting, elliptical etc. Current dashboard only includes step data.

Hi @Wbricher thank you for sharing this suggestion. Can you please add more details about your suggestion? What specific details you would like to have for these type of exercises? This will help us to categorize it in a more efficient way.

I have the Inspire HR. If I spend an hour on my road bike, it gives me loads of steps. If I'm on my stationary bike, not so much. If it auto-recognizes an elliptical, why can't it do so with a spin bike? Same for a treadmill.

Hi @Albrecht1471, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to custom Exercise Types on Fitbit Dashboard. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

I agree. I take my kayak to the lake almost every day for 4 hours or more each trip. I should like the same things tracked and GPS abilities as walking.

Greeting Fitbit moderator. You've been getting this feature request for reminding us to drink water using the Charge 4 - your most expensive tracker - since last May (2020). It's now February 2021. I realize Rome wasn't built in a day but this really does amount to not much more than a timer going off every 60 minutes.

In order to compete you have to be nimble. That is true for athletes wearing your tracker and tech companies like yours who make trackers. We don't want to still be reading this feature request into 2022.

Programming a 'water timer' into your software is just not that hard. Really. If you guys need help with this I have some friends who can help you. Many. Please let me know. I will send you their resumes.

We bought your most expensive tracker. Reward us. Get this done. Don't make us keep asking for it years later. Just do it.

Lastly - if you're going to respond to this, please don't keep cutting and pasting your same response over and over. Give us an update. Be transparent. If you don't intend on adding this feature - just tell us. But don't keep repeating that lots of people have been asking for this. It sis not helpful.

I also would like to have more exercise type options. For example Core Work seems like something many people would want.......  Dance would be another one......  I don't even see Stretching...... which, yes, I know----I could use "yoga" but IT'S NOT YOGA, IT'S STRETCHING FOR 45 MINUTES!  This seems like an easy fix. The code is already there, you just need to add the options along with the type of activity. I can recategorize as "core" but then I lose what I did and it shows irrelevant data, which completely misses the whole point of an activity tracker and app.  I love my fitbit and would appreciate this fix.

Please Add Helix to the list of options for exercise.  It's smooth enough that steps don't register.  I track by active minutes but I'd like to be able to identify it as an activity.  Nothing listed compares/  Elliptical is the closest most likely but still isn't a true comparison.
