Allow tracking food and calories budget for future dates

Dropping the online dashboard and forcing us only to the app will lose us useful features. In particular for me, the app does not allow custome meal creation, and it does not allow future calorie budgeting. I can post my planned food for the next day, but I can't actually see it on the app until the next day. Bring those features to the app.

another example of Google killing fitbit.

Never buy another Fitbit or Pixel Watch.

I agree, fitbit you suck! I'm out for good.

It would be great if you could put in your meals for the days of the week in advance. This would allow me to plan out my week of meals and shop accordingly. I can only enter in present day or past days.

Just seen this is what is proposed and I just can't believe that all fitbits users are being treated this way. In addition every time they update the phone app I can never synchronise my watch to it. I have to reinstall my watch every time. Wont belong and this fitbit will be in the bin.

I along with thousands of other dedicated users, are not happy with the changeover that will only allow us to access our dashboards on the app only as of July 8!  On Fitbit.com we have all created specific meals that we have spent hours upon hours creating and we use it daily. However, from what I have ascertained from other posts the only way to access these meals now will be by using the "+" tab on the app, then recreate our meals one item at a time.  This is not only insane but it is a VERY poor way to treat hundreds of thousands of your customers!!!!! ABSURD!!!

I can't use your app on my phone due to vision problems.  Therefore I will today go to the Apple store and get a watch, phone and ipad.  Thanks for nothing Google.

I've been using Fitbit since Mar 2014.  I've used the browser to log all my food for years and the app is not a suitable replacement.  I also have a several years streak of 10k+ steps.  But, yesterday my screen just went black on my watch.  I was going to just replace it ( I've probably had 7 or 8 Fitbits over the years as they've died ), but considering everything, including the browser being discontinued, it might be time to make the move to Garmin.  I'll have to figure something out until Sept when the Fenix 8 comes out, then decide between the discounted 7 or the new 8, but I'll manage.  Bottom line, I just don't like the direction Fitbit is going.   I was hoping for the positive change, and probably should have made the move awhile ago. I just liked the product 5-7 years ago, but that's no reason to stay when it's not getting better.  Like any divorce, it's sad...but will be better in the long run! 🙂

Negative:
Poor decision making, for whatever reason.  Killed a good product that was well-liked by many loyalists.
Positive:
Thanks, Fitbit...We've had a great run!!!! ( pun intended )

I am so disappointed in Google removing the website dashboard to go with only phone dashboard. I have created so many custom meals that I use multiple times daily to track my calories and food intake. FitBit helped to loose 40+ pounds over the years and keep it off using food logging and calories burned, taken in. It was quick and easy to log a sandwich or a meal using different ingredients such as a pasta meal or my homemade chicken pot pie. I see no way of doing this. Using the recent food list or my favorite food list, not there anymore. The app shows recent food logged, haha, some of those items I haven't logged for years. I have been using Fitbit products since Dec. 2013.  I've used the browser to log all my food for years and the phone app is not a suitable replacement. Viewing the data on the website with a regular sized screen and not a phone screen, it is so different. When it is time to replace my current FitBit I will consider a different option, as I will use something else for food logging and all the other information I track.

The Web based meal logging features made it easier to plan my meals in advance for an entire week. i also have a ton of custom meals based on low carb keto meal plan. All that was way easier to use and now it is not.

The app does not compare to the web site

I will be looking for a new product , They are out there

I did find that using my iPad with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse did help me feel like I was still using the browser version (sort of). I was able to still use custom meals and was less painful creating them on the iPad screen size as opposed to my very tiny phone (but sadly even on iPad it is not entire screen just still larger than my phone display). I type very fast, so using a keyboard was really the main pain point as data entry on a phone, even when using microphone to text dictation features, are just slower in my honest opinion. Hopefully, this comment might help users who are lucky enough to also have an iPad or a larger screen to project your phone. I loved how the browser version had drag and drop features and other nice display side bars with frequently logged foods, where I could click it and add it to  day so much easier than mobile app. I confess the only reason I am still using the app, is because it displays carb, fat, and protein counts per meal (as well as daily summary) for FREE where other apps like my fitness pal require $20 monthly purchase and then it is quirky to get a complete view of food + activity into one app, as now you are connecting one app to another, and it invariably never works in reliable manner. I also love my slim sized Fitbit and can't afford the bulky and very expensive apple watch which also has the ability to make phone calls or detect if you fall. I am thankful they at least support my very old iPad for now, which I lack the funds to replace anytime soon. Curious if other users out there create meals plans by logging your food in advance on this app? I found it makes meal planning and tracking a breeze to do it on Sunday when I am doing meal prep since I work long crazy hours and this keeps me on track for food.

I was forced to abandon Fitbit when they switched from web version to app only. I need to use adaptive technology for navigation and input on the computer because I have a disorder that affects the coordination in my hands. I don't use phone apps because they are far too difficult to navigate with voice commands. The day the web dashboard went away I took off my Fitbit. I never needed a watch, I have a cell phone that tells me the time whenever I ask what time it is.  I have now wasted all that money on hardware that sits in a drawer because I no longer have access to my data in the way that was offered to me when bought the device.  Now I am saving up for another popular device that offers PC access to your data.  I have left my review on Amazon and TrustPilot.  That's all I can do I suppose.

I'd like to enter my food for tomorrow the night before. We can do that; however, we can't see it until the next day. I want to see my calorie count and maybe switch or add foods. This way I can properly prepare for making smart choices.

Also, being able to copy from one day to the next. I typically eat the same thing for a few meals.
